We've been here countless times and always enjoy it! We stopped in on a Monday, and the young men working were especially kind and welcoming. My son noticed that one of the claw machines was open and let them know, and they thanked him by letting him pick out a toy, a much appreciated such a sweet gesture! The food is consistently great. We love the meatballs, and the pizza has a delicious, thin crust. There are plenty of games to keep the kids entertained, and between an antipasto salad, a glass of wine, and happy kids, this place is basically a parent's safe haven. One of our favorites Hapy Hours in LB! Large Pepperoni Pizza for $20, this large is more like an XXL (18")! We forget how big it is until it comes to the table! We love their Caesar Salad (non-happy hour), definitely the BEST around! Appetizers are 25% off. We tried their large pretzel (and it's very large) served with beer cheese sauce and marinara but honestly it's just the right amount of salt and great on its own, no dips needed! Of course we went home with more than we ate! So many great offerings it's hard to not to over order and ww lo e leftover pizza! Parking is always easy! Perhaps my Yelp friend Lorna K's review was only but a precursor for what to expect when my team at work tried to visit for an early dinner outing. It has been an incredibly, and not to mention incredulously, busy start to the year for my team at work, and after all this hard work, which even included an extra project for yours truly, we really needed some time away from work to just ease some of the tension that had been beleaguering us during normal work hours. One of my co-workers recommended District 4 Pizza, where one of my *other* Yelp friends scored the coveted honor of FTR (First To Review), and I had bookmarked it after seeing her give full marks to this new-ish pizza spot in the Los Altos neighborhood of Long Beach. You can find them on the southwest corner of Bellflower and Stearns. One thing we had noted well before we made the drive is that District 4 Pizza is not open for lunch hours on weekdays; instead, they open at 4 PM, which makes me wonder if that's the reason for the '4' in the business name or nothing more than mere happenstance? Or in our case, they didn't open at all because they had a belated holiday party, though the note that was posted on the front door did not even specify what holiday. St. Patrick's Day perhaps? But at this point, it's a moot point. I hopped on their website and didn't see even one mention that they would have been closed that day, so in essence, I wasted a couple hours of work only to find out they wouldn't be open on a day they would normally be open. Would have been nice to try their pizza, but alas, I left disappointed, especially since I had to cook dinner that night when I wasn't planning to. I'm sure that would grind Peter Griffin's gears too. We may return at a later time. We may not. It's also possible I may not be able to join due to my schedule, which can be oscillatory at times. If I do return, I'll be sure to update this review, but it'd be a maximum of 3 stars since 1 and 5 don't average to a 5 or even a 4. With Lorna's review etched in the back of my mind in the days leading up to this visit, I had myself mentally prepared for a potentially abjectly haughty hostess. We came to District 4 Pizza around noon on a Saturday to host a pizza party for my son's soccer team. Our group was about 25 people, and for group events, this place really works. The space is large, clean, and very family-friendly. There are TVs on every wall, making it a great spot to watch games, plus a small arcade area that kept the kids entertained. From a layout and environment standpoint, it's a solid choice for team parties and group gatherings. Service was mostly neutral, but handled well when it mattered. I ordered a Caesar salad that had very hard, grainy breadcrumbs and wasn't edible for me. When I sent it back, it was removed from the check without issue, and my server also comped my Coke, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the food itself is where this fell short for me. I tried the cheese pizza, and between that and the salad, the overall quality just didn't taste particularly fresh or memorable. Decided to grab a pizza after work in Long Beach, luckily District 4 Pizza is across the street from my work. I ordered the sausage king of Chicago pizza large size. Price is reasonable for an 18" pizza pie. I ordered this pizza to go, I am hungry but I can't engulf a large pizza in their dining room. They offered me a Pepsi cola while I waited which was nice. The space was very large and could easily accommodate over 100 people. There are flat screen TV's on every wall with sports playing in mute with subtitles. There is also an arcade with a few games to occupy the little leaguers who are pretty ubiquitous around the restaurant. The food was actually way better than I expected. I thought it was going to be a glorified Shakey's or Straw Hut like I remembered growing up, but my Chicken Parmesan sandwich was great and the fries were plentiful and crispy! The bread had a special crust to it that made it special and the cheese was melted and gooey with a great marinara sauce on top. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My friends got the Barwinkles Pizza and said it was good but the crust could have been cooked a little longer and the chicken needed a bit more flavor, overall it got the job done though. The prices are on the high side but the portions match that price. You do get a tons of food so it ends up being worth it. I tools half my food home for lunch the next day and I'm a big guy who can eat a lot. Great for groups! I would come back for a Dodger game or something like that. read more

District 4 seems like a very popular place, maybe we just caught them on an off night. We went to District 4 as a group and got put in the back room that could fit us all. We couldn't hear each other talk due to the echos of the other people in the other room. They have that room blocked off, the acoustics in the building as a whole are horrible and all of sound travels into the one room we were in. The waitress was nice and she was prompt with service and never missed a beat. We ordered a pizza, a pretzel, brussels sprouts, and wings. The pretzel was good, the cheesy dipping sauce was good once we peeled layer of plastic cheese (weird hard layer of cheese) off of the top. Wings were good there isn't much to say about them, they had a lot of flavor. The pizza, was not my favorite, the crust was crisp (which is what I like) the dough tasted like tap water, it was very bland and the sauce was sweet - kind of reminded me of Ragu spaghetti sauce and the toppings were few and far between. read more

District 4 has been on my list for at least 6 months. They have outdoor dog-friendly seating and an abundance of indoor seating (including a banquet room) for kids/teens sports teams. There's an arcade and multiple TVs to watch your favorite team. It reminds me of an elevated Chuck E. Cheese that has community roots. We had the 14" Sausage King of Chicago, House Green Salad, and Pistachio Pesto Chicken Rigatoni. All was fresh, tasty, and satisfying. Wow!!! I got back there tonight. The special pizzas are back to high quality. Lots of cheeses and thick pizza crust, and more flavors just like I reminded of the opening time premium pizzas. I tried the rigatoni w chicken, alfredo sauce and mushrooms for the first time. It was great, creamy, lots of chicken, mushrooms. 5 stars for the rigatoni. Other salads are so fresh made and I can choose the different dressings. Friday night was packed by b day party, sport game team gathering, company dinner, and all kinds of special days. My wife and I got back to the district 4 pizza. It was completely packed on Friday night. Birthday party, company dinner, and Friday dinner after work....I enjoyed the vibe w sports games, lots of TV screens are everywhere. Last time we didn't have great experience w pizzas because the chef was not the same. Tonight we tried rigatoni w chickens, mushrooms, Alfredo sauce was excellent. Even the specialty pizzas were flavorful w lots of cheeses, toppings, thick pizza crust. I think the taste is just like the opening time. We had fresh green salads w French fries. Loved all. Went here for happy hour with some friends from work. It started out quiet, but got really busy by 7pm. The food was good. I got the appetizer meatball and a slice of pizza. I made reservations (emailed) and pre-ordered dishes the day before with the intent of eating family style for our large group. Service was excellent. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess and she had let us know that some of our party was already seated. She also let us know that our food would be out shortly. Our waiter took our drink orders and was very attentive throughout the evening. Ordered a variety of dishes: buffalo and naked wings, burrata, Caesar salads, pepperoni pizza, prosciutto pizza with arugula, bbq chicken pizza, vodka à la sausage pasta, spaghetti and meatballs, and chicken Alfredo. The Caesar salad and burrata with focaccia were excellent. The pizzas were tasty except I would've liked the slices to be cut smaller since they were so huge. They even brought out some more bread to go with the pasta. They mistakingly brought out Caesar salads that were not family style (they were individual size) but quickly brought out these huge family style bowls and did not charge me for the individual salads (in addition). The pastas were okay tasting. Portions were huge. Overall, loved how organized everything was, how attentive the staff were, and the food was pretty good. I choose this restaurant over BJ's pizza because my son doesn't care for BJ's. The alcoholic drinks were great as well as they had a good amount of alcohol and the glass was pretty big too. We tried: Pepperoni Pie: Classic, with the little pepperoni cups that act like little meaty grease chalices. I know that probably makes it sound gross but it is so delicious. The simple pie brought out how amazing their crust recipe is. Highly recommend. Calabrian Pizza: Super salty and spicy flavor bomb, with a drizzle of sweet hot honey. Very complex and rich, I couldn't eat more than a couple bites of this out of fear of getting full lol. White Shadow: Super creamy garlicky white pie, featuring special guest briny artichoke. Also super rich as they were very generous with the ricotta. Fung-Guy: This was my absolute fave. The combinations of mushrooms and cheeses made for a super earthy, umami masterpiece of a pizza. Rating: Classy AF. Antipasto Salad: Fresh veggies and ample salty meats, cheese, tomatoes, and olives. The texture and flavor was spot on. Meatball appetizer: tender, fall apart, juicy Whipped ricotta cheese. If you like ricotta cheese, you'll love it. Great with the meatballs and the bread. Calamari : a must. Came with two types of sauces, marinara & tartar sauce. You can tell it's the whole calamari because you get the arms. Great fry, all very tender. At Liam's suggestion we got the Heart Meat pizza. Another yelp reviewer (a friend) recommended this place since I'm on the pizza craving madness period (this would be my #5 within 10 days). This is just my POV for lunch only... They have a special lunch menu and it is very reasonable price and offers, I wish I can order them all but I'm sticking with my craving for now, pizza. I got the 2 slices, house salad, soda for $13 but opted to upgrade for 805 beer that is for +$3 more... so $19 total for lunch is not bad at all. Pizza: thin crush, great slice size and crunchy bottom which I greatly appreciated (especially when you pick it up and everything still intact) and great quality & good taste. Salad: with blue cheese and Big portion and not bad at all...can't say much on beer since it just makes life great. First visit to this restaurant which has been open just a few months. I was expecting a small pizza place but whoa I was surprised! First off there are several as in 4-6 large TV screens around the large dining area which includes several high tops. One big jumbo screen in the center. Sports fans do NOT miss this place! There is also a game arcade room off to the east side where I think the noise will be contained. But now to the food. Extensive menu beyond pizza. I only tried an appetizer this time but again was whoa pleasantly surprised. My meatball appetizer came with two good size meatballs, a heap of fresh arugula and a good portion of ricotta cheese PLUS 3 slices of good bread. As a kid I ate many a good Italian meatball in Massachusetts so I was as one happy camper with this plate. The meatballs were good and juicy and the ricotta and arugula added a nice mix. Never judge a book by its cover! First off, this place is huge. When you drive past it you really don't think much of it. It looks small from the outside and nothing really stands out. There is parking in the back along with other restaurants and stores (hofs hut) As soon as I walked in you can see the kitchen and all the workers on the left of you. The really nice hostess sat us down immediately. The tables and everything in there are clean, I also like that they have a paper towel holder on the table. I always hate asking for napkins and then not using all of them and being wasteful There is also sooo many TVs in here for all your sports needs And there's also an arcade tucked away in a little semi hidden area. So you don't hear any of the noise from all that Our waiter immediately came over and took our order. We put in for the fries (I wasn't thinking of anything special, but these fries were SOOOO crispy!) And then we got the meat baller. 10/10 highly recommend. I honestly didn't expect an item like this at a pizza place with an arcade in it. It gives the meatball starter at BOA steakhouse a run for its money Then we ordered the pepperoni pizza. Let me tell you, this pizza was absolutely HUGE. I'm not a pizza expert, but I'd say this is amazing New York style pizza. It was greasy and the pizza had just the right amount of floppy yet cooked perfectly. Could easily fold it and shove it in your mouth. These slices are huge. We finally had a chance to stop in and try District 4 Pizza. The space is quite large, super clean and there are plenty of TVs playing all of the college football games (it was a Saturday). They also have a small arcade for the kids. We decided to get an appetizer and went with the calamari. It was mostly overcooked, but the pieces that weren't overcooked were pretty tasty. They have an interesting selection of pizzas, but we did not see a "make your own" option. We chose to try the Elote Pizza. The crust was fantastic. The bottom was quite crisp but it still has a nice chew to it. The toppings on the Elote Pizza didn't wow us but the crust was more than good enough for us to want to try other pizzas from the menu. Also, they only offer one size of whole pie. If you want something smaller they do offer slices. The service was great. Everyone was super friendly and they checked on us frequently. It's nice inside. A big open concept. Several TV's throughout. A little arcade area for the kiddos. We ordered an appetizer called Whipp It Good and a pepperoni pizza. We liked the pizza a lot. The crust was fantastic! *yum* The appetizer was also tasty. It had a light texture to it. The only critique I have is that there wasn't enough bread served with it. We had quite a bit of cheese mixture leftover. If management is reading this, might I suggest serving 2 more pieces with it? This week they are only open in the evening. First off, this place may be the loudest location in all of California. Sheesh... bring ear plugs. If you don't want to scream across the table, sit on the patio. We had to ask them to clean off the table two separate times because it was so filthy. Honestly it was dirtier than the floor. The first person just used a wet rag to spread the layers of dirt around. You could see the swirls of dirt. These tables are definitely not cleaned daily. Anyway... The meatball appetizer was a generous portion, but I wouldn't order it again. They give you two tiny stick of bread for two gigantic meatballs. It honestly doesn't make much sense - and the meatballs were just okay. Calamari was way overcooked and only rings of calamari. Pretty chewy - wouldn't order again. The wings were phenomenal. We ordered 6 buffalo and 6 Nashville hot honey and both were delicious. The Nashville hot honey sauce is addicting but also quite messy (they're wings... what do you expect?) have the paper towels ready! The pizza was very good, we ordered half pepperoni and half of another pizza I forget the name (ham, pineapple, jalapeño) but we ordered without onions. I'd definitely come back, but you guys gotta care more about the tables outside. Letting customers walk up and see all the tables absolutely filthy just shows a lack of pride. The lunch special is a good deal, $10 for a slice of cheese or pepperoni, a salad, and soda. Dine in only. I was hoping to get a good sense of their standard cheese pizza, but unfortunately my slice was badly overcooked: dried out, and charred. A willingness to serve a slice in this condition speaks to a lack of concern over quality. Given the number of options for pizza in LB, I won't be trying District 4 again. read more
