family! great place for a gathering!
Chandie F.

We came here for a family dinner with a group of nine and were stoked we made reservations a couple of days ahead because the place was absolutely packed by the time we got there. One thing I noticed immediately was how deceptive the space is from the outside. You walk in thinking you're stepping into a small Italian bistro, and then it just keeps unfolding room after room until you realize you're actually in a large, incredibly lively space. Each room we passed through seemed to gain even more energy. There seemed to be birthday dinners, family gatherings, and just large groups of friends celebrating everywhere, and the whole restaurant had a genuinely festive feel without feeling overly loud or chaotic. Service was fantastic. Our waitress felt less like restaurant service and more like a friend helping the whole table have a good night. Everything flowed really naturally. Timing was great. Drinks stayed full. Plates never piled up, and even little moments that could have felt imperfect somehow just added to the warmth of the experience. We ordered family style for the table and honestly every single thing disappeared. The Burrina pizza and Romana pizza were both excellent. The Caesar salad was fresh and balanced. The lasagna was a hit, and we also ordered a white pasta with fennel sausage that nobody could stop eating. We even had family visiting from Ecuador with us, and everyone cleaned their plates and had a great time. We skipped dessert because we had cake waiting at home, but judging by the number of tiramisus passing by our table, we may have made a tactical error there. The only real challenge is parking. Broadway parking is Broadway parking, and locals already know the situation near the beach can get rough quickly. If you live nearby, I'd honestly recommend Ubering or walking if possible. This immediately went onto my shortlist for large group dinners in Long Beach.

I've heard good things about this place, and when I drive by it, there is always a line of people waiting outside to either eat outside or eat inside the small restaurant. When we did walk in, I was surprised to see a mini Fiat sitting in the middle of the place. They did have seating at the bar but my partner and i felt like sitting outside for a change. We went on a Saturday evening and it was a nice day to be outside. We smartly sat in the shade where we chose to go with the flow and try a dish together. The first was the appetizer and the bruschetta with plenty of diced roma tomatoes, basil and plenty of garlic and olive oil on crunchy bread. I enjoyed the three i had and scooped up the oiled tomatoes left on the plate. Next was the caesar salad and it was terrifically tossed to its brilliance with some cherry tomatoes in play. Of course, there was croutons in the mix. Next was the Romana Pizza. A white pizza, thin crust, and the first time I tried potatoes on a pizza. The slices were big and enjoyable from start to finish. The potato was actually enjoyable and came together with the rest of the ingredients. After that we had the Amatriciana spaghetti, where the noodles were the thickest i have ever enjoyed. The Guanicale was fantastic to come along with everything and I'm glad I made the right chose that night. Dessert couldnt be left out and we kept it classy by getting the Tiramisu. It was a damn good one and was glad that it wasnt drenched in any rum. It was all reasonably priced, and were smart to split everything. By the time we finished, there was a line of people waiting for our table to open up. Like i said, this place is fantastic and I will be back again for another date night with the love of my life.

I was taken here for date night and it definitely lived up to the hype. We came without a reservation on a busy night and ended up waiting about 30 minutes for a table. The restaurant was packed, but once we got inside, I understood why. The space is absolutely adorable and feels like stepping into an Italian postcard, with so much character and charm in every corner. The food was fantastic from start to finish. We started with the calamari, which was crispy and flavorful. For my entrée, I ordered the carbonara, and my date got the lobster ravioli. Both dishes were rich, fresh, and packed with flavor. I was feeling a little tired, so I ordered a latte for a pick-me-up, and it was the perfect addition to the meal. Between the atmosphere, great food, and lively energy, this was such a fun date night spot. I'd happily come back again, though next time I'll definitely make a reservation.

I cannot say enough great things about La Parolaccia Osteria! We had a date night here a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night and have not stopped thinking about the delicious pasta we had. The Linguine Porto Rosso and Gnocchi Zafferano are some of the best pasta platters that we have had and we only wish that this restaurant was closer to us! From the first bite, you can distinguish the authentic preparation that goes into their menu items. This is definitely a place where I would recommend making reservations for if you are not willing to wait to be seated for more than half an hour (they were very busy on the Saturday night that we visited but the wait was personally worth it because we enjoyed our food and visit so much)! The service from the staff was also excellent, our server came by frequently to ask if we needed anything and to pick up the plates we were done using to ensure we had clear space at our table. I would 100% suggest anyone visiting Long Beach to stop by this restaurant for authentic pasta dishes and I also can't wait to return to try more of their items!

Incredible food. Great staff. Setting has you feeling like you're in a local Italian restaurant. Without question the best Italian food in Long Beach. Lasagna to die for.

Hadn't been to this place in a while, and surprisingly the food remains tasty and high quality. We order several dishes to share as family style. The short rib pappardelle with burrata was my favorite, the pasta al dente and the short rib flavorful and falling apart. The Sofia pizza was great, the thin crust was amazing, only thing missing was chili oil. The ravioli (5 pieces) was tasty but was expecting a more flavorful mushroom white sauce. Our server was attentive and also our bartender which made our drinks very strong. Parking is available in the back and they also have outdoor seating for those who want to enjoy the fresh breeze.

Where do I begin.. from the fresh pasta, the tasty brucheta and the salad oooh my it was all sooo divine!!!! Not to mention the Tiramusu is Top Notch !!! I forgot to take pictures of our food jt was just authentic and full of flavor!!! Definitely will go back ! The ambiance is also top notch!

Linguine

There was a Vespa hanging in the corner and chaotic conversations reminded of the streets of Napoli. The pasta was excellent! We had orecchiette with asparagus seafood pesto. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the flavor was amazing. The linguine with clams shrimp and bass had just slight heat. The seafood was cooked just right. The server was kind enough to let us taste test the wine before making the selection. My only wish is that they serve filtered water.

Found this place while searching for places to eat in Long Beach on Instagram. The first time I ate at this restaurant was last month for Valentine's Day. I ordered a lasagna, which was hands-down one of the best lasagnas I've eaten and ordered a pizza. For dessert we ordered their house made bread pudding topped with gelato and that was the only thing I wasn't too crazy about. Last weekend, I went back again to try different dishes, which are pictured here and everything once again was insanely good. Customer Service here is unmatched. This place is so welcoming and attentive to their guest. They offer outdoor seating. Bathroom situation kind of sucks because there's only one for the entire restaurant... they have a small bar to sit at and three separate dining areas inside. You can make reservations here which I do highly recommend. Otherwise your wait time is minimal of 30 minutes on the weekend. Parking sucks but it's Long Beach so I'm sure you're aware of that.

It's like jumping into Italy. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is very italiano. The pizza is completely shareable. It's thin crust and big! A salad and pizza would be an excellent meal. They pasta is good and fairly large. In some dishes the pasta is big so it may seem like there is alot but they are just large pasta tubes - Share able with salad and pizza, I think. All in all, it was a great spot for dinner. The place is really big, excellent for a large party.

Great food, friendly service and fun ambience. This Italian food is as close as I've found to authentic. The flavors of fresh ingredients come through in every bite. Even the olive oil that came with the bread was amazing. We sat at the pizza counter where they were making and baking the pizzas in a pizza oven. There are several dining rooms decorated cutely, which allow you to switch things up on each visit. The fun decor kept me looking around to take it all in ... Our server was super friendly and kept things moving since we were in a bit of a rush. Definitely a great spot and I can't wait to return.

What a fantastic place and I can't believe we haven't been here until now. First, although the restaurant is quite large, it has been packed each time we have come. Despite how busy they are, everyone is extremely friendly and attentive. The decor is thoughtfully rustic and reminds us of our great dining experiences in Italy. The wine selection is great and the food is amazing at a great price point. Parking can be challenging, but we have always found a spot not too far away. No need to travel outside of wonderful Long Beach for an amazing Italian meal and experience!

LOVED IT! My boyfriend and I dined here last night for the 1st time and it was wonderful. The restaurant is in a great part of Long Beach and although we parked in the neighborhood, parking was just across the street and it was also a beautiful night. The ambiance was so lovely. The staff was very welcoming and our waitress was awesome. She shared her favorite dishes when asked and was helpful in assisting us figure out what we wanted to order. The food was absolutely amazing! We shared the gorgonzola salad, he had the Nonna Malvina, and I had the Pappardelle e Burrata. We finished with a cup of gelato. Everything was delicious and tasted so fresh! I highly recommend La Parolaccia Osteria. And I cannot wait to go back.

Located off the fun Retro Row on Fourth St. with the last Friday event happening, we noticed a good amount of people walking in and there was a security guard out front. The crowd was lively so it must be good. First off, I was totally surprised about this place. It's a pretty nice spot. There's the main bar right along one wall that offered both wine and beer. There was also a corner that hosted a live band. When we arrived, no one was playing yet. The crowd seemed to be more of the younger hipster vibe. A completely different crowd from the LA scenes. Getting a drink wasn't that bad even though it was busy. I happened to get lucky when someone moved from the bar stool for me to approach. I was a little surprised when the wine I ordered was in a box...lol... I mean, it was whatever. Some options were for a glass only or for both a glass or bottle. But when it came to checking out, tipping options went from 20 25 percent to 30 percent. Wasn't used to that as an option as it's not like you're dinning in. Anyway, the surprise was when we walked out and seen that they had a massive back patio. It was hard finding a seat as it was packed. There was also a food trunk on deck but wasn't sure what they were serving. We noticed people with hotdogs and someone with a box of pizza. Ambiance (5/5): Although we didn't sit inside, it was super cute, with classy boho vibes. The restroom was clean and well-decorated (although, not gonna lie, I don't know how I felt about the big mirror facing the toilet). The outside patio area was airy, and although right by the street, I didn't find it unpleasant. Service (3/5): It was just so-so. They sat us down quickly, gave us our menus and checked on us maybe twice. It wasn't super busy, but we had to wait to ask for things like extra plates and water for our dog. Good (5/5): Food was delicious. We got the beef shawarma lunch special and got fries for the side (extra charge) and also the chicken shawarma lunch special with the hummus side. Beef Shawarma (4/5): It had a nice toasty flavor, perhaps from the spices, and the pickled veggies really complemented it. My only complaint was that I wish it had a bit more of the white sauce (maybe adding more hummus would have helped). It was also strangely a bit watery, maybe from the veggies. Overall, it was still a yummy wrap. Chicken Shawarma (5/5): The chicken shawarma tasted more balanced to me overall. I don't recall the meat being dry, although I did also slather it with a bit of hummus. I thoroughly enjoyed this wrap. Fries side (5/5): Their fries are made in house and it tastes so fresh. It was crispy on the outside yet still gooey and moist on the inside. I'm not sure if they make their own ketchup too, as it looked clumpier and tasted really fresh too. The kids gobbled this up. Hummus and pita (5/5): It came with a generous amount of both hummus and pita. The hummus was well flavored and blended, and it really complemented everything on the table. The pocket pita bread was not what I had in mind (I'm used to thicker ones), but the kids really loved it overall. Ice cream (4.5/5): We ordered two scoops from the dessert menu. They were both really thick, creamy and almost chewy like liquidized mochi. It was a very interesting texture but nonetheless a nice tasty treat on a hot day. I much preferred the vanilla bean, as the pistachio tasted and looked rather artificial (and I'm a pistachio ice cream lover). This place had so many to-go orders during the afternoon we were there. I can see why. Food is super fresh and tasty. I think we will be back the next time we are visiting.
