La Parolaccia Osteria is one of my favorite Italian spots ever! I've celebrated multiple anniversaries and birthdays here. The food is absolutely delicious, and the service has never been short of amazing. When you walk in, you're greeted by a gorgeous mosaic of Mediterranean decor. The interior is what I would imagine a restaurant in Italy would look like - exposed brick, lots of fun framed pictures and posters, fresh flowers and plants, and even a Vespa. It's warmly lit and such a great vibe for dinner. I always order the paccheri crema di scampi, which is their large rigatoni in a cream sauce with lobster and shrimp. This is my absolute favorite pasta dish. I clean the plate of all sauce remnants - no joke. It's creamy and savory and wonderfully balanced with the acidity of the tomato. The seafood is never overcooked or rubbery, and the rigatoni is a perfect al dente. They also make one of the best tiramisus I've tried. I love tiramisu, and the ratio of mascarpone to ladyfinger here is perfect! Not to mention, their ladyfingers aren't dry or overly soggy with espresso. Soo delicious. The service is lovely. The servers are attentive and welcoming, and the food comes out in a timely manner. They also give great wine recommendations to pair with your food. I would recommend making a reservation to ensure that you've secured a table, especially for celebrations or holidays. Without a reservation, the wait can be some time during peak hours. I've only been to this location a few years back but the food was excellent even if the parking was a little difficult to come by. Next time I'd definitely uber from wherever I'm at . The service was very good and the server made excellent recommendations. I had a very disappointing experience with this restaurant. I placed a pickup order, and when I got home, I realized the order was incorrect and missing an entree. The restaurant could not be reached and I drove back. The staff was dismissive and eventually reset the order. Mistakes can happen, but what matters is how a business responds. Unfortunately, the lack of accountability and poor customer service made the experience even more frustrating. We came here for a family dinner with a group of nine and were stoked we made reservations a couple of days ahead because the place was absolutely packed by the time we got there. One thing I noticed immediately was how deceptive the space is from the outside. You walk in thinking you're stepping into a small Italian bistro, and then it just keeps unfolding room after room until you realize you're actually in a large, incredibly lively space. Each room we passed through seemed to gain even more energy. There seemed to be birthday dinners, family gatherings, and just large groups of friends celebrating everywhere, and the whole restaurant had a genuinely festive feel without feeling overly loud or chaotic. Service was fantastic. Our waitress felt less like restaurant service and more like a friend helping the whole table have a good night. Everything flowed really naturally. Timing was great. Drinks stayed full. Plates never piled up, and even little moments that could have felt imperfect somehow just added to the warmth of the experience. We ordered family style for the table and honestly every single thing disappeared. The Burrina pizza and Romana pizza were both excellent. The Caesar salad was fresh and balanced. The lasagna was a hit, and we also ordered a white pasta with fennel sausage that nobody could stop eating. We even had family visiting from Ecuador with us, and everyone cleaned their plates and had a great time. We skipped dessert because we had cake waiting at home, but judging by the number of tiramisus passing by our table, we may have made a tactical error there. The only real challenge is parking. Broadway parking is Broadway parking, and locals already know the situation near the beach can get rough quickly. If you live nearby, I'd honestly recommend Ubering or walking if possible. I've heard good things about this place, and when I drive by it, there is always a line of people waiting outside to either eat outside or eat inside the small restaurant. When we did walk in, I was surprised to see a mini Fiat sitting in the middle of the place. They did have seating at the bar but my partner and i felt like sitting outside for a change. We went on a Saturday evening and it was a nice day to be outside. We smartly sat in the shade where we chose to go with the flow and try a dish together. The first was the appetizer and the bruschetta with plenty of diced roma tomatoes, basil and plenty of garlic and olive oil on crunchy bread. I enjoyed the three i had and scooped up the oiled tomatoes left on the plate. Next was the caesar salad and it was terrifically tossed to its brilliance with some cherry tomatoes in play. Of course, there was croutons in the mix. Next was the Romana Pizza. A white pizza, thin crust, and the first time I tried potatoes on a pizza. The slices were big and enjoyable from start to finish. The potato was actually enjoyable and came together with the rest of the ingredients. After that we had the Amatriciana spaghetti, where the noodles were the thickest i have ever enjoyed. The Guanicale was fantastic to come along with everything and I'm glad I made the right chose that night. Dessert couldnt be left out and we kept it classy by getting the Tiramisu. It was a damn good one and was glad that it wasnt drenched in any rum. It was all reasonably priced, and were smart to split everything. By the time we finished, there was a line of people waiting for our table to open up. The restaurant was packed, but once we got inside, I understood why. The space is absolutely adorable and feels like stepping into an Italian postcard, with so much character and charm in every corner. The food was fantastic from start to finish. We started with the calamari, which was crispy and flavorful. For my entrée, I ordered the carbonara, and my date got the lobster ravioli. Both dishes were rich, fresh, and packed with flavor. I cannot say enough great things about La Parolaccia Osteria! We had a date night here a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night and have not stopped thinking about the delicious pasta we had. The Linguine Porto Rosso and Gnocchi Zafferano are some of the best pasta platters that we have had and we only wish that this restaurant was closer to us! From the first bite, you can distinguish the authentic preparation that goes into their menu items. This is definitely a place where I would recommend making reservations for if you are not willing to wait to be seated for more than half an hour (they were very busy on the Saturday night that we visited but the wait was personally worth it because we enjoyed our food and visit so much)! The service from the staff was also excellent, our server came by frequently to ask if we needed anything and to pick up the plates we were done using to ensure we had clear space at our table. Hadn't been to this place in a while, and surprisingly the food remains tasty and high quality. We order several dishes to share as family style. The short rib pappardelle with burrata was my favorite, the pasta al dente and the short rib flavorful and falling apart. The Sofia pizza was great, the thin crust was amazing, only thing missing was chili oil. The ravioli (5 pieces) was tasty but was expecting a more flavorful mushroom white sauce. Found this place while searching for places to eat in Long Beach on Instagram. The first time I ate at this restaurant was last month for Valentine's Day. I ordered a lasagna, which was hands-down one of the best lasagnas I've eaten and ordered a pizza. For dessert we ordered their house made bread pudding topped with gelato and that was the only thing I wasn't too crazy about. Last weekend, I went back again to try different dishes, which are pictured here and everything once again was insanely good. Customer Service here is unmatched. This place is so welcoming and attentive to their guest. They offer outdoor seating. Bathroom situation kind of sucks because there's only one for the entire restaurant... they have a small bar to sit at and three separate dining areas inside. You can make reservations here which I do highly recommend. Otherwise your wait time is minimal of 30 minutes on the weekend. It's like jumping into Italy. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is very italiano. The pizza is completely shareable. It's thin crust and big! A salad and pizza would be an excellent meal. What a fantastic place and I can't believe we haven't been here until now. First, although the restaurant is quite large, it has been packed each time we have come. LOVED IT! My boyfriend and I dined here last night for the 1st time and it was wonderful. The restaurant is in a great part of Long Beach and although we parked in the neighborhood, parking was just across the street and it was also a beautiful night. The ambiance was so lovely. We had heard about this beautiful, charming restaurant and had to come. Upon arriving, we noticed it was busy and hoped to find a table. To our surprise, we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. Our waiter provided excellent service, and the food was amazing, from the Bruschetta, Burrata Con Pesto, to Marion seafood, Paccheri Crema Scampi, and the famous Lasagna, everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. They have a full bar and wine. I had a glass of red wine served on what appeared to be a kids' cup. Overall this place is well decorated with a variety of different art on the walls. Out in Long Beach again on business and stopped at La Parolaccia for dinner and I certainly was not disappointed. Our table started with calamari and a pizza. They loved it and it was quickly eaten. I ordered a dirty grey goose martini which was one of the best I've had and I'm very picky with them. I also ordered the Branzino because I am celiac. Let me tell you, I cleaned my plate. The fish was perfectly cooked and the flavor was amazing, nicely balanced. They did have gluten free options available so next time I will be trying those! Service was impeccable. She was very attentive to our table and made sure we always had full glasses of water or anything else we needed. They take reservations and the decor is kitschy. There are Vespas, flats, and alfa romeo parts on the walls. (Made my day since I love my alfa!!) Definitely check this out when you're in town. read more

I saw that this location had thousands of reviews both on Yelp and Google, but I was a bit sceptical, because sometimes places just get overhyped-- especially if they've been in the area for a while and people crave nostalgia more than quality (which is totally fine sometimes!). We made a reservation the day prior, for a lil Galentine's moment, and I am sooo glad we did-- they get BUSY! We ended up trying their shortrib pasta and the mushroom ravioli and, let me just say, you can absolutely taste the love and the warmth and the freshness. Seriously, this place is popular for a reason and I hope to God their quality stays the same forever because it has now become my favourite pasta place! Testarossa pizza 8/10: I enjoyed the combination of toppings. However the tomatoes weren't very roasted and the pizza sauce was a little tart for my liking. Overall, it's still a great neapolitan pizza! Spaghetti nonna malvina 6/10: the pasta was ok and tasted as expected, but the meatballs were an offputting texture to all four of us; not sure if it was an off day but I would not order this dish again unfortunately. La Parolaccia Osteria is a hidden gem and family-owned restaurant in Long Beach known for their Roman Italian food. While I waited for my to-go order, I talked to the chef and he showed me that they make their pastas from scratch daily, their pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven at 800 degrees, and he mentioned that the flavors derived from their family's upbringing in Rome. He said that the flavors represented there are simply the flavors that they know. If you look at my old review, you'll see that I found out about it over ten years ago. It was so good, I was able to talk my girlfriend at the time to uproot along with me to live in Long Beach. She is now my wife and La Parolaccia remains one of my favorite spots. My favorite pasta here is their gnocchi al zafferano, which comes with a parmesan saffron cream sauce and sausage. It's one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. I also love their "romana" pizza, which comes with garlic, roasted potatoes, pancetta, and rosemary. The flavors are tremendously potent and the pizza is delicious. Fifteen years ago, this place was a local's spot and a secret. Last year, in 2024, they got national recognition as a semifinalist for "best chef in California" by the James Beard Awards. I have to say that they have deserved this recognition for a long time. If you are a local and you haven't been here, then you really need to try it. If you are not a local and you want a really great Roman-style Italian spot, then this is your spot. Roman style Italian food recently became trendy in LA due to Chef Evan Funke; however, I have to say that I think that La Parolaccia does it better and they do it without any pretension. It's only been a month since I ate here for the first time. Four friends and I returned to the area to walk around Belmont Shores to see the Christmas lights. I was happy to get to dine here again. I had been jonesing for their magnificent lasagna since last month. My bf ordered it this time too. He agreed. It was the best he's ever had which was my original assessment; it still is. My friends had pasta with pesto, bruschetta, chicken salad and calamari. Everyone really enjoyed their dinners. We also liked the homey, comfortable atmosphere. The service was terrific. Our waitress said it was no problem to split the check. She was quick to get our drink orders, etc. I look forward to finding another reason to come up from Orange County to eat here again. A little more of a casual vibe, but there's always a line out the door at this restaurant - and even then, we were seated quickly. We ordered the pesto pasta and the pomodoro pasta. I usually prefer tomato-based pastas, but the pesto was so good I couldn't stop eating it. The pomodoro was also really delicious. The wine was decent, just a bit dry for my taste. A pizza was a must and although I am a thick crust pizza preferred kinda gal, I absolutely loved the flavor, fresh dough and ingredients, and was perfectly ok with an "on the thinner side" pizza. A perfect match to our pizza was the gorgonzola salad. Starters for us were the bruschetta and focaccia. Yum and yum! Ending the night sharing some desserts. The bread pudding was a hit!
