    Bolognese

Unassuming gem along this drip of businesses and restaurants. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted and welcomed in like family. You can choose from 3 atmospheres. There's the bar section for more intimate small group dining and beverages. The main room with a vibe between intimate and the room best for groups. We enjoyed the 3rd great for groups. Tucked away in the corner for a lovely intimate date night dinner. It was sweet seeing the family of 8+ enjoying the meals and engaging in laughter. You could bet, it wasn't there first time here. It appeared to be a family tradition to come year after year as they knew the whole staff. When I see this, you know this is not just a restaurant but a place that builds community. As for the food... YUM! You can never go wrong with fresh burrata. I'd like some more tomatoes but I'm a tomato lover. The herbs provided a nice flavor profile to compliment the acidity from tomatoes. The squash blossoms were heavenly pillowed perfectly paired with a tasty creamy pesto sauce. We practically licked the plate clean. The pastas, chef's kiss! The Contadina was our favorite with the umami forward punch. Bolognese is a classic that I always enjoy revisiting and enjoying time after time. Had to skip dessert this time. Can't wait to indulge in their sweet treats next time.

Just a very quaint authentic Italian restaurant with unbelievably tasty food. I love this place so i kind of don't want to tell ppl about it because it'll get crowded. Marco is always attentive and knowledgeable about all of the dishes. Damn this cabernet is perfect. I feel like I'm in Italy, very Italian vibe and they're speaking Italian to each other. The burrata cheese appetizers w prosciutto always is good oh and the bread with oil and vinegar we demolished. My entree was the special for the night gnocchi w eggplant. It was wonderful! Willie had the lasagna and he said it was good. I'm getting tiramisu to go. Who's the happy girl?

We were greeted by the friendly staff, and seated immediately. The restaurant was clean and had a nice relaxing vibe. I ordered the Penne Arrabbiata. The pasta was cooked nicely, the sauce was a little bland. We also ordered the fried squash blossom which was very good! Hands down the favorite from our meals. We also ordered one of the specials, stuffed chicken, mashed potatoes and a side of vegetables. The dish was good but needed more flavor, For desert we had the homemade cheesecake. It was very dense. Overall a decent meal

Tonight we went to our favorite Italian spot in Long Beach, just a short drive from home. As always, we had such a pleasant experience, the staff is delightful and the dishes never miss. I tried the Positano pasta with shrimp, and it was delicious .. rich and creamy, perfectly balanced, and totally suited my pregnancy taste buds. We had an appetizer, The bruschetta was also light, fresh, and tasty. Their menu gets updated periodically (not sure how often), but we've been here multiple times and it truly never disappoints. The ambiance is so quaint and inviting, which always adds to the experience, a great date night!

I had the pleasure of introducing some new friends to this fantastic restaurant and everyone was very impressed with the service, atmosphere, wine, and food!! I forgot to take pictures of the appetizers we had mainly because we devoured them so quickly!! We had the zucchini blossoms and the cornbread appetizer. Fantastic!! The wine perfect for our food choices and then we had shared their amazing Tiramisu for desert. Great place to enjoy good times with friends or family!

    Calamari Fritti

I came here and ordered calamari for appetizers and vongole (clam) pasta for my main entree. Bread was complimentary and it had a really good crust. Asides from that the bread was typical. The calamari came hot. It was lightly breaded and was more soft than chewy. There is a combination of both tentacles and body. The order came with plenty of sauce. The sauce had a nice spicy kick to it. My pasta had a ton of clams. Parmesan was grated on top of it table-side. A small bowl for shells was also provided. The pasta was very simple and minimalist. It was soothing and not too heavy. Overall this was a nice restaurant

Tortellini, Beer Battered Cheese Sticks, and Nonna
    Andrea G.

This is truly a culinary heaven that never fails to impress! The table bread is a masterpiece--buttery and soft, a humble yet exquisite start. This visit must've been our lucky day because the beer battered cheese sticks were the house special. All I'll say is that it's such a disappointment these sticks are not in their regular menu m, they're like no other cheese sticks I've ever had. While the Nonna pasta was good, my heart belongs to the Tortellini. The dance of flavors between pasta and sauce was a culinary masterpiece!! 100% recommend! The service was impeccable, and meeting the genius behind this culinary gem was a highlight. Very delightful experience!

7/24/23 Chef's kiss Deliziosa! Spettacolare! This place deserves a 5 star just based off their marinara! Sara, our fabulous server was amazing & personable. She made our dinner experience great! Usually I don't ever order the special but the way she described it, I just had to have it. Hubby, of course, opted for the Cioppino. Both of our dishes were just simply phenomenal! Hubby's sauce had the right consistency, tang & seasonings-so zesty & savory delicious. The seafood (clams, shrimp, calamari, mussels) were soft & tender. My pasta was egg-based & imported from Italy, it was al dente-so toothsome& thick. Hubby didn't particularly care for it but I loved every bite. Unfortunately, the shrimp on my dish were overcooked, so these were a tad hard on the chew (delicious nonetheless but I do prefer these on the soft chew). The table bread was a bit mediocre. I expected a nice crusty sourdough but it was still soft & tasted freshly made. It paired nicely with the oil & vinegar dipping sauce. Overall, a solid 4 & We will return to try other dishes

Does this place even open anymore? There have been plenty of times I have been by during what are posted business hours and they have been closed.

    What is the corkage fee?

The corkage fee is $20 for each bottle, however, we will not apply it if you buy a bottle from our list.

Are there gluten free dishes? Not just gf pasta because I've gone to some restaurants where they say they can give me gf pasta with just marinara sauce because all the meats contain gluten. Are the meats here gluten free as well?

I am sure that if u ask Lorenzo the owner he can accomodate you for a GF pasta with vegetables and a nice smooth tomato sauce or ckn, veal scaloppine or fresh fish with no flour. 👍😏

    Is it reservation only?

No, but it is HIGHLY suggested!

Good spot for groups. Service was very friendly including our server and the hosts. I was impressed that when they brought all of our food out, there were multiple servers and they knew which dish belonged to whom in our party of 5. They have a wide variety of menu options. I ordered the lamb burger because it's not something you normally see on a restaurant menu. It was delicious! Everyone in our group really enjoyed their food. Looking forward to going back!

But every now and then, I will get the urge to go to a steak house only to realize, yes, I still rather have steaks at home and will put off going again for awhile. Our experience: When we walked in with no reservations and they said they only had tables available outside. Fine. When I asked if there were any tables available inside, I was told no due to them having a lot of reservations. Please keep in mind, there were plenty of tables/booths open. It had rained today and our table was still a little wet on the outer portion. Not a huge deal as we assumed it was just drops from the patio cover. A little after being seated, our server told us she had asked the manager and we would be able to sit inside but at this point we declined. We ate our meal and by the time we left, I noticed the restaurant was still pretty empty (maybe 4-6 parties). So what happened to all the reservations preventing us from being seated inside at the start? The serving staff were friendly and checked on us plenty of times without being overbearing. On to the food. We ordered the poke wraps, kids pasta, ribeye house butchered, and prime rib. My daughter said that the pasta did not have enough flavor and barely touched it. My wife said the ribeye was ok and it seemed to be cooked to the correct temp/doneness (med rare). My prime rib was honestly, pretty bland and over cooked. I ordered med rare it was more on the med side. Au jus was very light and didn't add much to my plate. The asparagus was cooked well but lacked salt. We all agreed that the best part of the meal were the garlic fries that came with my wife's steak and the poke wraps in a close second.

Located off the fun Retro Row on Fourth St. with the last Friday event happening, we noticed a good amount of people walking in and there was a security guard out front. The crowd was lively so it must be good. First off, I was totally surprised about this place. It's a pretty nice spot. There's the main bar right along one wall that offered both wine and beer. There was also a corner that hosted a live band. When we arrived, no one was playing yet. The crowd seemed to be more of the younger hipster vibe. A completely different crowd from the LA scenes. Getting a drink wasn't that bad even though it was busy. I happened to get lucky when someone moved from the bar stool for me to approach. I was a little surprised when the wine I ordered was in a box...lol... I mean, it was whatever. Some options were for a glass only or for both a glass or bottle. But when it came to checking out, tipping options went from 20 25 percent to 30 percent. Wasn't used to that as an option as it's not like you're dinning in. Anyway, the surprise was when we walked out and seen that they had a massive back patio. It was hard finding a seat as it was packed. There was also a food trunk on deck but wasn't sure what they were serving. We noticed people with hotdogs and someone with a box of pizza. Not sure if it's from the vendor or if you're allowed outside food in. The vibe was fun, the crowd was lively and everyone there for a good time. It's more of a younger scene.
