I absolutely love intimate wine bars especially when in the neighborhood. I have visited Vino en Verde several times over the years and only once did I feel valued. On a couple of occasions, I was totally ignored until I actually got up from my bar seat to leave. I prefer to go earlier before the evening folks arrive. The service was excellent, Ryan was very friendly and helpful. Every drink was amazing, we tried the mojito, old fashioned, and the expresso martini( best around). They don't serve food, so I would eat before you arrive here for the best drinks around town. read more

Great atmosphere and service. Not a great selection of wine, at least if you like Cabernet from Paso Robles. All they had to offer was Stag (which is very average). Pricing is also insane - Stag retails for around $19 and we were charged $62...yikes. read more

Cool little spot in new Braunfels, next to Gruene Tini. This is an intimate little wine bar. Great meeting spot to have an afternoon drink with the girls or perhaps a date. Lots of seating area, chic environment. Music is playing in speaker but not so loud to interrupt. They do have beer and wine. I thought they would have a better/more wine selection considering the name of this joint. They do close rather early so it's not a good spot for a night cap. read more

I night I have been to every kind of bar in Gruene but I missed this one. It is across from Gruenetini's. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and there was a small group of 8-10 of us at any given time. Nice wine selection. What I really loved was their live music! The atmosphere is dark and comfortable. Great place to chill and catch up with friends. I didn't care much for their patio furniture. It want comfy at all. Will be back again. read more

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but esposa and I had a different experience than other Yelpers. We went on a Saturday, arriving shortly after opening. The ambiance is VERY nice. Warm and inviting with loads of wood and a variety of places to sit: bar, tables, benches. The gal behind the bar seemed more impressed on tending to a couple of girls at a table than to us. The menu was odd, listing only the wine varietal and prices, but not the vintner or year. This makes it impossible to know what you're getting. When we asked from where the wines were sourced, the bartender replied, "From all over the world and we DON'T have Texas wines". Well, alright then. We get it. You obviously don't support your local vintners. Great. So, we asked for a couple of glasses of wine and she briefly described each, unable to properly pronounce pinot noir (hint: the "r" is silent). We sauntered outside so that I could enjoy a cigar. Came back in and enjoyed the AC. Not once did the bartender step outside or walk over to ask us if we were enjoying the wines or we'd like more. Did we catch her on a bad day? Perhaps. But, that's not our problem. She represents the business and, for us, put forth a less-than-impressive image. We strive to support locally owned businesses, especially those that are off the beaten path. Will we stop here to give Vino en Verde a second chance next time we visit Gruene? Hmmm. Vino en Verde is a great spot. My boyfriend and I went on an extremely quiet night. Erica made us feel more than welcome at her establishment and talked to us like she knew us for years. She was extremely knowledgable about her wine and gave me great recommendations. They keep their place extremely clean and tidy. She also said they host trivia and such. I'd love to go back for that. My boyfriend and I had a really great time at Vino en Verde and look forward to stopping back there the next time we head near New Braunfels/Gruene! read more

Went on Saturday night and an entire 5 people were there. It was so boring n the young bartender wearing a BB cap was an big donkey. Rude and acted like he was put out he had to serve us.
