Came around 5 on a Saturday. Asked if we had a reservation; we didn't. So they asked if we could be done in an hour and 15 minutes. I told him - you won't be waiting on us. If you get the drinks and food out, we'll take care of it. An hour later I've had the app, bread, and a salad that. Inexplicably took a half hour to come out. Still waiting on entree. They did bring me a second slice of bread that they shouldn't have served because it's burnt as hell. The table oil was good, but why no balsamic or Parmesan for the bread? Wife had the papardelle prosciutto. Had decent flavor,, but nothing to scream about. Good enough, and she was satisfied. My Veal Cardinale, however... simply bland, bland, bland. After adding a LOT of pepper, Parmesan, and oregano, it started to approach flavor. But it just wasn't worth eating more than a few bites. Veal was bland, although cooked fine. Sauce was super flavorless. Waitress asked if I'd like something else, but I declined. This was a test run; I knew I was taking chances. Wife took her food home, I left mine behind. Overall - service okay; don't know if ya them or the kitchen that's painfully slow. Friendly - I'll give them that. Food. The best of two dishes was okay. Not great Italian. Maybe we had an off night. First time tried, so maybe they're fantastic and I caught them at the wrong time. But I won't find out, because at the price point I'll hit Gabriella's where I know it'll be good. Barely ate any of mine it was so bland, so the before and after won't look much different. Also, served one slice of bread up front. It was good. 45 min later offered a second piece of bread. Both mine and the wife's were burnt as hell. I'm not a local and WOW, this was a great stop! The bread they give you is fresh - just add the oil/salt/pepper they give you. Cesar salad was super fresh and tasty. I was tempted to order the special but wasn't looking for steak and shrimp so I went with the seared tuna and ordered it with garlic n oil angel hair pasta. BOY was I happy I did! Little did I know they have a trusted source that brings seafood in fresh twice per week. And the pasta was great. First off - food was outstanding. Service though was horrible. Took 30 minutes to have anyone take our order. People who came in after us were waited on before us. Forgot about this local gem. Will be back for sure. Started with bread - warm, good crust and tasty oil to dip in. Followed by calamari - large pieces that are flash fried and so light tasting. Craig got mushroom soup - velvety taste and chock full of mushrooms. I got a Caesar side salad - dressing had a lemon bent with a nice offset with the cheese which was a stronger, salty taste. Dinner was a delicious eggplant stack for Craig - large portion, included sweet Italian sausage and roasted red peppers with marinara sauce - shows great restraint and the right ratios. Mine was gnocchi - large portion, nice mix, taste and texture. We finished out with yummy, yummy lava cake. After another day on the road, we wanted a nice dinner and tried Vino. It is in a mall and the interior is nothing special but the service and food make this a 4 star restaurant. Our server, Trey, recommended the chicken/veal parmigiana and chicken/veal saltimbocca so we ordered both. The house salads were good as well as the recommended entrees. Part of a mall area and located in one of the smaller units, Our party of three had different meals wife had the baked eggplant huge portion of baked, unbreaded, eggplant served with a salad. Came to Harrisburg from out of town and wanted to try something new let me just say my boyfriend and I are SO glad we found this restaurant. We arrived prime of dinner time on Valentine's Day and they did the best to seat us quickly. Food was AMAZING people were AMAZING. This place is a hidden gem. We have lived in this area for over 20 years and just found out about it. The staff was kind and offered menu suggestions. We started with the Formaggio Frito (fried ricotta and herbs) Then we ordered the Carbonara, Chicken Parm, Linguine and clams and the Braciole. It was like being in my Nonna's kitchen on a Sunday. We never go out for Italian food because we haven't found any that serve authentic Italian cuisine. This place is definitely authentic. We were visiting the Hershey area on vacation and staying just outside of Harrisburg. We looked at what was around us for dining and found Vino not far from our hotel. It had pretty great reviews and was super close, so we decided to give it a go. It's in a strip mall that doesn't look like much, but once you pass through Vino's doors, you're transported to a much nicer place. There's great atmosphere inside. Our group of 9 was seated at table in the corner near the front door, but it didn't feel like it might sound. First, let me say that our server was fantastic. He was welcoming, informative, quick, on top of things, and great with the young children in our party. My only disappointment is that I can't remember his name for this review. We were brought baskets of thickly sliced fresh Italian bread to start. There was olive oil and spices on the table already to make our own dipping sauce. Everything on the reasonably priced menu sounded delicious and authentic. I finally went with the Gnocchi alla Fiorentino, which was homemade gnocchi tossed in brown butter with garlic, pinenuts, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and olive oil. I could definitely tell that the gnocchi was homemade and not prepackaged. The combination of flavors was delicious, and the portion size was "just right." Others had ginormous portions of their entrees (penne pasta with spicy arrabbiata sauce, eggplant parm, etc.) that they couldn't finish. They don't have a visible kids menu per se, but we were informed by our amazing server that any of the pastas could be halved for kids, both in price and size. However, their kids' size portion was still huge, and the adults loved eating the leftover pillows of homemade ravioli. Everyone agreed that this strip mall Italian restaurant was a great find and a "diamond in the rough." If we lived in the Harrisburg/Hershey area, we'd definitely make this a regular dining experience. read more

(We had Tres as our server again, same as last time, so why mess with fate?) Again, the crostini was great and the Fra Diavolo with mussels was fabulous. Portions are sizable, so order accordingly. M loved the shrimp scampi. B, on the other hand, ordered the eggplant stack, which she has before and didn't like then. No change this time on that account. Tres was very efficient in a busy restaurant. Oh, we didn't get hurried out this time and the owner did drop by the table, though he didn't introduce himself. This restaurant had great reviews so we decided to try it. It was very busy and one of the patrons said the chicken Parmesan was the best. We probably should've listen to her but I got the eggplant stack and I really did not like it very much with the roasted peppers And the sausage. The sausage was actually very good by itself. The pasta with mushrooms and prosciutto in the cream sauce was very thin and felt like it was missing something. And the Bolognese was extremely rich and good. Salad was OK. I felt like they were a little stingy with handing out bread because it was being made as it was given to people. Wine was good. Service was phenomenal. She helped us put together of trays of food for a soccer team and parents in from NJ for a soccer tournament. She was so patient, friendly and helpful! (Thank you so much Autumn!!) I ordered the Shrimp Scampi and it was delicious, wish there were a little more shrimp, but not bad for $16. Service good; food, not so much! I've been to Vino's about 10 times over the years, the the food always underwhelms me. It's like they use the pizza business they own next door's sauce, and add some meat to it. The rigatoni is pre-cooked. That means over-cooked. Who does that? I even asked for al dente pasta and, well I can go on and on. My wife's chicken special was just "ok." It's not like we have a lot of great Italian restaurants (other than Gabriella's) but if you want my advice, pick any one of the other ones. Again, the servers are good. It's hard enough to get servers so I am sorry for them. They deserve a place with better food. read more
