Great little shop with reasonably priced, diverse selection. Service was quick and friendly. Best wishes and recommendations for this 'little shop that can' in the heart of Pittsboro.

Love Vino!!! We recently went to one of their wine pairing dinners and truly enjoyed the delicious food and wine. The service was great and the staff is knowledgeable. What a little gem in downtown PBO!

We ventured into Vino!! specifically for a bottle of Fair Game's Peach Tipper, after they were all sold our at the site. Don't be confused by the large sign off Hillsboro Street and the address, the actual entrance to the shop is off West Salisbury. They have great signage once you're in the area and you'll enter the first door only to be greeted by two flights of stairs you must climb to finally find the wine store on the left hand side. Once inside you will see a couple high-top tables and a small wine selection, beer and even cigars. The store was busy during our visit, 3pm during First Sunday in Pittsboro festivities. We also fancied our luck as they were doing a free tasting of three wines from 12-4pm. We were in luck because they had the bottle of wine we were looking for an we asked for a tasting as well. Unfortunately they customer service was a very short and she rushed us through three wines without details and even when I asked questions she repeated things she'd already said with no explanation. They were offering 10% off wines that they were tasting, and we really enjoyed one and purchased it as well. The complete experience depends on how you look at things: A. this is really the only WINE shop in downtown Pittsboro but B. the customer service is lacking and the selection is small [although it's a small town, so for that fact, it's possibly a great selection!] Overall, I think Vino!! is a hit for a local and maybe a miss for a tourist.

My first visit to Pittsboro and I probably would never have stumbled across The Plant and Fair Game…read moreBeverage Company because they're a bit of a ways from the center of town. But they're a member of an RV hospitality program and I decided that this would be way more interesting than a Cracker Barrel parking lot for an overnight. And it is. Fair Game distills their own spirits, they have a great selection of beers and they are masters of the charcuterie game. The tasting room is a pleasant little spot with wifi and power which was great for me on my own. But it's a comfy spot if you're meeting up with friends, with tables inside and out. Plus you have access to the other places in The Plant including a Mexican place across the way that looks tremendous. I stayed in Fair Game, enjoying a local draft beer and then the lovely bartender Desiree mixed a Fair Game Collins for me. A delicious combination of their house-made gin, which she customized for me with less simple syrup so that I could try to stay somewhere close to ketosis. It was a very pleasant evening for sure. I parked here during my lunch break because Doherty's Irish Pub (next door) had no parking available. The only other option is the lot across the street, which is honestly unsafe -- drivers rarely notice the crosswalk or people walking across, and it feels dangerous just trying to get over there. Since I had already ordered and paid for my food, I just needed to run in and grab my bag -- literally a one-minute stop. The ABC lot was completely empty with plenty of open spaces, yet an employee came outside and told me I couldn't park there unless I was shopping at the ABC store. What made it worse is that there were no customers there at all -- it felt like she was just waiting for someone to pull in so she could say something. Pittsboro is a small town, and people here have always treated each other with courtesy and understanding. To suddenly change that attitude and nitpick over something so small completely disrupts the community feel this town is known for. I understand the signs, but there was no flexibility or neighborly spirit shown -- especially toward someone who has supported this store in the past. Because of this, I'll be taking my business to other locations.

So...what's the actual name of this place? Bottles & Cans Beer and Wine Shop or Taps and Social?…read moreJudging by the signage and the receipt, it seems to answer to both. Either way, it delivers exactly what you'd hope for--a great selection of drinks in a relaxed, social setting. After finishing dinner at Shijiri, we had a little over an hour to kill before heading home, so we wandered over here. We decided to grab seats inside rather than on the front patio. The interior is surprisingly spacious, with plenty of seating whether you prefer pulling up to the bar or sinking into one of the comfortable sofas. Our tasting lineup included the refreshing Sangria Slushy, Anderson Valley's Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Stout, and Komana's Hefe the Hefeweizen. While enjoying our drinks, we spent some time hanging out with Aria, the Bouvier des Flandres, who was incredibly friendly and happily accepted all the attention. She definitely added to the welcoming atmosphere. Before leaving, we couldn't resist browsing the shelves and ended up taking home a build-your-own six-pack featuring beers from 3 Floyds, Edit, Middle James, Two Tides, Grimm, and Anytime Beer Co. The selection is excellent for anyone who enjoys discovering craft beers beyond the usual grocery store offerings. Whether you're looking to enjoy a drink on-site, build a mixed six-pack to take home, or simply relax with friends (or make a new four-legged one), this place checks all the boxes. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

Dropped by Bottles & Cans recently and had a good experience…read more Parking was very convenient because Bottles & Cans is part of a strip mall, so no problems there. They had a pretty decent selection of beers available, and I was impressed that you could get pretty much any type of beer as a singleton (versus having to buy a 4 pack or whatever). I did feel like the refrigerated section could have been a bit larger, but they did have a few good choices in there. They had a big selection of beers available on tap, and while I didn't partake this time, I was kind of tempted by the quadrupel :) The bartender was nice and helpful throughout my visit. Overall, if you're in the area, this seems like a nice place to stop and grab a beer. I've seen slightly better selection of beers elsewhere, but I do think you could find something you like here :)
