$2.50 for a can of Wal-Mart ginger ale...
Adrian B.

Discovered Rigby at the Taste of Madison and absolutely loved their food and wanted to see what else they had to offer. Came in and service was not good, waitress seemed to be bothered by our simple questions. Ordered a Ginger Ale for $2.50, was given a can of Wal-Mart Great Value ginger ale...I'm sure a 24 pack of that doesn't even cost that...atleast put it in a glass so I don't know what it is, it tasted cheap cause it is cheap. Food was very disappointing and wasn't even seasoned with salt, very bland. Disappointing service, disappointing food, will not go back.

Famous for cheese curds, I got lucky with the lobster filled cheese curds!! Also had Wisconsin mc n cheese with buffalo chicken. Great music selection and service

Rigby apps half price with yelp check in!

I was getting things done at the GEF building, needed a snack and a drink, I can't believe how many restaurants are with in walking distance. Herd about the Rigby and decided to stop in . A very relaxing small place. They had Led Zep and Jimi Hendrix playing, not some kind of weird stuff! With all of the cheese curds in the Madison area to rate these were some of the best! With a tasty dipping sauce and half price yelp check in for apps. As arnold would say I'll be back.

Don't expect All Beatles All The Time; I doubt anyone can survive that narrow niche - but the music is fun and eclectic.

We had some old fashioneds before ordering food, and I thought they were good. Service was super attentive, especially as we delayed ordering to enjoy drinks and an appetizer for a bit. I ordered the beer battered cod fish fry (my staple), and overall it was yummy to eat. The two pieces that came out were enormous and a bit wonky shaped... made me wonder what on earth this fish looked like in its swimming days. The batter was quite tasty, crunchy but not too crunchy/hard, but it was so incredibly think I'm not sure I got fish in every bite. I took one piece home and give the fish part to my pup as a meal topper, and the ratio of breading I had to pull off compared to fish was a bit (quite a bit) much. Still, everything I ate was tasty. I got the salad with my dinner, and was so happy that it came out with quality greens instead of a chunk of iceberg type lettuce. Overall, I'd come back again if others wanted, but wasn't wild about the batter to fish ratio.

Ordered the soup and half sandwich special for $6!!! Soup was good flavor but the consistency was chalky, you can tell it was on too hot and milk had split. Sandwich was perfectly grilled and served with a pickle. Nice portions for how extremely reasonable. Servers were helpful and quick, they both helped each other and had a good time behind the bar.

This was my second time visiting. I swore I wrote a review the first time but it didn't pop up…read more Anywho, this time my daughter and I were in Madison for the day and visiting the museum across the street and decided to come for dinner. It was Thursday evening and they had a ribs/pulled pork special. We waited about 10 minutes at the bar for a table. The bar and atmosphere is great. Pretty bar lights and an old wood bar. We were seated by the window with a great view of the capital. My daughter and I shared the rib dinner and had plenty of food for us. Our waitress was new and learning but was doing a good job. I'd definitely come back.

I don't eat a whole lot of deep fried foods and that just seemed like a lot. I sat at the bar, and the bartender got to me pretty quickly and asked me if I wanted a drink. I ordered a glass of wine and a water, but had to ask him for a food menu. I opted for the grilled chicken sandwich with the side salad instead of fries. And then I waited. So long that the woman next to me made comments. People who showed up after I had ordered were eating fish before my sandwich showed up. The chicken was perfectly cooked, but completely lost on the sandwich. There was so much swiss on it, I could only taste cheese and bacon on greasy lightly toasted bread. The salad was barely dressed and just lettuce. I couldn't tell you what flavor the dressing was, but I piled the lettuce on top of the sandwich to try and cut some of the richness. I like cheese as much as the next gal, but it was a chicken sandwich. Even the mustard was lost. The prices are good, the actual restaurant was cute and just across from the capital. The portion was large, it just was lackluster.
