This was my first time coming to this establishment. I brought my elderly parents after a doctor appointment. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. The person, Kaylee Kylie???...at register was extremely rude and impatient. We ordered an apple fritter, poppy seed muffin breakfast croissant and a smoothie bowl. The muffin and fritter were stale and old as if from the day before. The sandwich comes with premade and cut egg squares. As I saw other sandwiches come out, I asked Kaylee if I could change it to a fried egg. She said yes as long as it had not been made. 15 minutes later the sandwich came out with the egg square. I mentioned to her that we asked for a hard fried egg. She argued and said the sandwich must have already been made. To which I said then it is going to be cold because it had been over 15 minutes. She walked away and came back in 4 minutes with a new sandwich which she dropped the plate on the table with a loud bang and walked off without saying anything. At this point, I still had not received my smoothie bowl. I asked the manager and he said it didn't look like she placed the order. So, we left having had 2 stale pastries, a runny fried egg, no smoothie bowl and rude service. Very disappointed Vintage Cafe. read more

The croissant was only $5 and the Lox was filled with thick smoked salmon. I would not recommend the smoothie. It is a misleading 16oz and is $7 - overpriced in my opinion. read more

Formerly First National Bank, this renovated cafe is a restaurant, smoothie bar, an Internet cafe and a social hub all thrown into a melting pot. What emerges is an interesting, fun and tasty experience. The owners wisely were careful to leave a lot of the original character of the building and kept the bank vault and safety deposit boxes. It's really nice to see. I had the turkey club and strawberry smoothie; though the smoothie was yogurt-based it was still very good. I enjoyed it. Really loved this place! The vibe is great, very friendly staff.. and great food!! The coffee was also very good. For a coffee shop it had quite a bit of space for people to sit and work. Our group actually rented out one of the spaces upstairs that allowed for us to have a private conversation while enjoying the food. Would recommend and sad I didn't get to visit here more. read more

Stopped by for lunch after seeing great Yelp reviews, and was not disappointed! I loved the chicken salad sandwich with tomato bisque. The Kaiser bun was fresh and flaky, and the chicken salad itself was filling without being too heavy. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean with plenty of space. My mom and I had a light lunch here while I was in town visiting her. It's the cutest hidden gym, and they have a great little menu with everything from pastries to sandwiches, coffee to cocktails. And they have a cute little patio out front. Great spot in Montgomery! read more

We came for 2 coffees and a cinnamon roll and 20 mins later after asking where our coffees were they realized they never made a ticket number for us but continued serving everyone who came through the door after us. I had the breakfast bacon croissant and spending almost $7 for just a breakfast sandwich and nothing else is not recommended. I have no plans to return, It had a rather long line but I called my order in head of time so I was able to get in and out rather quickly. Nice setup inside and cute patio outside. P.S. A great place i was recommended to, i am so glad we went there for breakfast. I had the everything bagel with lox, it also had arugula aside from cream cheese and red onion relish, delicious, perfectly toasted. My husband had the sausage egg cheese biscuit. Fairly new novelty cafe in Old Cloverdale located in former bank building. Limited menu but great for a quick bite. Ordered the salmon salad, chicken biscuit, quick bread, Meadow tea and Monkey Shake. Food was delicious and even better with a 10% Military and First Responder discount. This place is amazing. Every employee was smiling and pleasant, and holy smokes were those girls rockin' it out!!! Every one of them was working hard and in good spirits. The food was perfectly assembled and delicious, and the coffee was amazing! (We actually got seconds for the road.) We travel a lot and most coffees we get are mediocre, at best, and get thrown out rather than finished. You can taste the quality beans and perfect roast here at Vintage Cafe. This spot is unique and such an awesome vibe. The way this place is running, it is obvious that the genuine compassion and dedication we saw in the employees is coming down from management. Everything in this establishment is well cared for. You get the complete package of service, ambiance, quality food, and perfectly curated coffee. This place is a shinning gem in what appears to be a revamped historic district in Montgomery. It is situated inside of an old bank, complete with drive up ATM and coffee teller window. The inside Devore is decorated nicely and pays homage to the buildings bank history. Now the real reason you would come here is for the fantastic beverages and food. The chicken biscuit is on of the best things in the city. It's a chicken breast on a biscuit with spicy jelly and seems to combine a symphony of flavors in your mouth that you hope never ends. The beverages are brewed fresh and made with care. It is noticeable that they have some of the best baristas when somehow they manage to take a simple peppermint mocha and turn it into a winter wonderland in a cup. If you are in the area and want world class coffee and food then stop on by, take a seat and slow the world down for a bit. You won't regret it. read more

I found this place by chance. I was on my way to an estate sale and wanted breakfast on the way. The line at Starbucks was interminable and I didn't feel like dealing with them being short on something I had set my mind on. So I googled local coffee shops and Vintage Cafe was the closest result, and it was on the way to my location, in the historic Cloverdale neighborhood. It's converted from and old bank building and as a result, had a drive thru, which was really convenient for me that morning. The young lady at the window was very helpful in recommending items from the menu. After I ordered she told me about the rewards system, which I signed up for. After I paid, and directed me to the parking area where I waited for someone to bring me my order. The wait was maybe 10 minutes, but the location was picturesque, which helped pass the time. I enjoyed my meal. My only criteria is that the ego on the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit was massive compared to the bread and sausage, but it tasted good, which is all that really matters. read more

My husband had the turkey ranch and liked it very much. I had the Martha's Melt. While I like it very much i would have liked it better with a thinner schmear of jam--the jam overwhelmed the flavors of everything else. We waited more time than I would consider normal for our orders, but not abominably long. We ordered a pastry with onion filling and a cranberry muffin but were not impressed with authenticity or quality. Our interaction with staff wasn't great. The place wasn't packed or extremely busy for the attention we received. The lattes looked nice but didn't taste great. Average. I missed taking a picture of the area where the bakery items were, but it definitely needed to be cleaned. Not the greatest place and definitely not what we expected to find. Kinda like. Coffee: fresh, could be a tad stronger for my taste. Would have liked an actual cup over a to-go thing. Also got an OJ and got it in a plastic cup, which was unexpected. Pastry: looked ok. Ended up getting a croissant and was a bit disappointed. The flavor was good, but the consistency was not ideal (soft over crunchy) Service: young team with room to grow into it. (At the counter, no table service, which was weird to me) Decor: sleek, modern, which I liked. Subway tile, marble, steel, clean lines. They have old safe deposit boxes on the counter, which is a nice touch. I would recommend an "Order Here" sign. Cleanliness: spotless (paint smell still in the air) Overall: I want to like it. Found this place as a breakfast stop on a road trip with my husband. Amazing! Mid-century decor with cool pictures on the wall from yesteryear. Clean bathrooms and dining area. Great service (multiple people greeted us and helped clear our dishes). Food and coffee so tasty! Amazing food! We had the chorizo burrito and avocado toast. The burrito was crispy and full of flavor. The green verde sauce was also tasty and enhanced the burrito. The avocado toast was a combination of the creamy avocado, sweet pickled onions and slight tang of the sun dried tomatoes on whole grain toast. Coffee was also first rate. The staff was friendly and helpful. The building is a repurposed bank with old photos of the area on the walls. Very close to where I85 and I65 intersect just 6 blocks or so off I85. We will definitely stop anytime we pass thru the area. read more

Cool space. Small portions. (They are seriously stingy on the portions.) The pictures are accurate- if you notice, the plates are pretty empty, the bowls very small. To our meal in particular--If the contents of both sandwiches were combined it would be a nice sandwich. Alas, not so. The big thimble of tomato soup was tasty after I had it heated up. Somehow my wife's and my soup were served at different temperatures- hers warm, mine not so much. I would think that's impossible if it came from the same pot, unless they zapped it different lengths of time. My wife ordered a panini. She dislikes bread unless it's toasted and thin. A panini usually fits the bill. They brought up a sandwich that was about 4" tall. Big fluffy bread, with the scrawny meat portions. I went downstairs and asked them for the panini. They said "that is a panini." I can see a griddle with searing plates right behind them. "There's no sear marks and it's big and fluffy." "It's pressed and grilled on both sides." "Okay, can you take that sandwich and put it in that press right there behind you, with those searing plates, not the flat griddle, that machine right there, and smash the crap out of it, because my wife is not going to eat this fluffy bread?" Then they did. Maybe I'm too picky. $11 sandwich. $6 soup. $3.50 coffee. $20.50. Plus tax, times two. $45. And I left hungry. It was fancy and all (besides the cold soup) but I think this is marketed as a snack/quick bite place for the discerning palate. Didn't know that. I have a discerning palate, but daddy is 6'4, does not drive a Prius, and doesn't like leaving $45 behind and a growling belly in tow. I won't be back. And I'm not giving it three stars for the ambience (it's a 5 for that) or the coffee (5) or even the portions- (that's a choice of petite portions for yoga pant clientele.) But for cold food that I had to take back. And for having to argue with them to get them to press my wife's panini a second time to get it warmed through, as though I was insulting their panini style. I am unimpressed with panini style, but am very impressed with hot and delicious. Missed the mark for me. (I probably will go back for the coffee and ambience-- very smooth. Cute cafe with adorable details. It used to be a bank and they've retained some of the mid century flair by repurposing the safe and deposit boxes. Drive thru is a great touch to any fast casual cafe. They also del a selection of interesting gifts/coffees/wine, etc. I was definitely impressed with the food, though a touch expensive, everything was really good. I stopped by Vintage to get a coffee before beginning a long day of tourist-ing around Montgomery. They have a drive thru, so I stopped, ordered a cappuccino to go, and was on my way. The cappuccino was all right - definitely very wet (which seems to be the trend right now, and I've started asking for dry).
