Haven't been to a drive in in ages!! Decided to see the new James Bond flick on a beautiful Friday night. Got there a little before 7 and parked up front of screen 3. My bf got the reserved parking, and there was 2 reserved and 1 regular spot available in the front row. You also pay for tickets at the window. We went to the snack bar and bought a bucket of popcorn for $10. Used the bathroom and looked at all the unplugged video games :(. We brought a few drinks and did not pay the $8 fee, lol To hear the movie, you have to sit in the car, we tried to download app and play from phone, to no avail!! It is a cool idea but the service is terrible. If all your doing is going to watch the movie it is fine. However beware that they charge $8 to bring in your own food. I ordered using their web site. They called when my food was ready. When I got to where the pickup window was there was a line of at least 30 people. It took 25 min to get up to the window. By the time I got back to my car I had missed 30 min of the movie and the food was cold. It was $34 for two meals and I received cold food. The order was for food only since we had brought our own drinks. The men's room was also filthy. I gave two stars for the drive in theatre only. Zero stars for concession stand. read more

We enjoyed our stop at this drive in. It was clean outside as well as in the snack bar. Speaking of the snack bar it had a good menu with very reasonably priced options. We opted for the Garbage Plate and we not disappointed. It looked like they have haunted houses and Christmas events I the "off" season too. A piece of Americana that is still alive. Went with a bunch of bicycling friends for a birthday night. I drove. Fun times. The only downside was needing more strategic fencing or yes to block the headlights from adjacent screens when people either left early or when their screen got out first. That was annoying. This place is awesome!! The prices are very cheap: $9/adults and $5/kids for a double feature!!! My kids are too young to stay for the second movie, but we all loved watching the first movie that started at 8:40. We ordered a "super" size popcorn bucket for under $13 - it even came with a free refill!!! The restrooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. My kids also remarked on the beautiful starry sky - it was really neat to stargaze without the distraction of city lights. This was our first visit to a drive in theater and it was very pleasant. Ooh yay this was my first drive-in experience! Went to see "Crazy Rich Asians" and the whole process was one to remember. I know it wasn't necessarily a million years ago that drive-ins were a thing but they are definitely not common in the present, so I definitely felt like I was taken "back in time". The price was reasonable and I had always wondered how you're supposed to listen from your car so it was cool to see my question being answered. There were some people that pulled out chairs and blankets and watched the movie like that; I watched from inside my car enjoying some snacks. The audio quality was good, as was the visual. The Vintage Drive In is awesome. Vintage is a great "throwback" way to enjoy the movie going experience. I recommend getting there early for the best possible view of the screen. In addition, many people tailgate so pack accordingly. You can bring in coolers also, but grills and alcohol are prohibited. On the occasions when we have gone, we usually bring dinner along. The price for admission costs about $18 for two adults, but it will get you admission to two films. They play two films back to back with a short intermission between. We seem to always leave after the first one has concluded, however you can make a whole evening / date of it if you decide to watch both films. Vintage is totally fun to snuggle up with your love and let the entertainment begin. Beginners tip: Make sure you start your car periodically throughout the film. It drains most car batteries to play the radio for 2 or more hours. The guy parked next to us forgot to start his car during the film and so you already know what happened when he tried to turn the ignition. A few other things to keep in mind... -Bring a flashlight for walks to the restroom or to get snacks. It gets pretty dark out there. -Dress warmly (this may seem odd but summer nights in Avon, can get pretty cold and remember your car is not going to be running and generating heat the entire time). -Bring lawn chairs if you plan on tailgating -Bring snacks or dinner (the drive-in charges you a $5 food permit for any meals or snacks being brought in). -Bring your kids or a kid that you know. This is a great place for kids because they can run around and play and nobody cares, unlike tradition theaters where they are encouraged to sit still. read more

I love having a real old fashioned drive in so close to home. While not exactly the cheap night out that it once was, it's still a great way to sit around while getting get fresh air. :) You have to pay by the person rather than the car, and you have to buy a $5 "permit" to bring in outside food. They have mini golf & some other arcade games if you need to keep little ones occupied prior to the movie starting. Great place for adults, kids and families of all ages. A small downfall would be the concession stand offerings and quality of those products. The food and snacks could use some upgrades, especially for the cost of some items (pretty high for what you get). I went to this drive in with my friends during the coronavirus pandemic because it was one of the first things open and we were bored out of our minds. We didn't preorder tickets or anything because we didn't feel that was necessary. It was quite a fun experience I must say, but I feel like there isn't much direction as we didn't know where to park and what screens were what. When one of us decided we needed to go to the bathroom, we hiked over to the main building and found that the line to the women's restroom was about 25+ people long. Absolutely ridiculous. Either install more bathrooms around the site or put in porta-potties because honestly I'd rather use that if it's going to be faster. While standing in line, the movie started, so I figured I would order some food. The line to order was also 20+ people long, so I figured I'd order online to bypass the line. All I got was a medium popcorn and it came to like $4. 10 minutes after I ordered I got a text saying my order was ready. I walked over to the pick up order and told the girl I got a text saying my order was ready. She said that it wasn't and told me to wait next to the pick up window. Around me was a crowd of angry people who have been waiting over 30 minutes for their orders. They were getting very verbal too, and before I knew it everyone around me was expressing their dissatisfaction with others. Working the food area was about 8 teenagers who looked frantic and clueless. About 20 minutes later I went back up to the window and asked where my food was, because it was just a medium popcorn and all you had to do was fill it up and give it to me. I told the manager this and she had someone fill up my popcorn. Seriously??? 30 minutes for a bag of popcorn?? Ridiculous. read more

We could not have asked for a better experience at a drive-in. Signage was clear and the parking areas were well-marked. Every staff member at the Vintage was courteous, the restroom was clean and the concession stand offered all that we needed. There is even a covered mini-golf course! We didn't have time to play because the movie began 15 minutes after we finished up at the concession stand, but definitely next time because we will be coming back. The Vintage Drive In is exactly as the title suggests. Its affordable, has plenty of parking spots at each screen, and offers those lovely overpriced concessions in the main hall. The radio station was very clear and consistent so we had no issues there. The video was great quality and luckily none ruined the movie with their headlights. I have so much love for the drive in. I grew up in the middle of nowhere so during the summer this was a sanctuary for cheap, wholesome fun. Now, it's a good excuse for an outdoor movie night and a fun alternative to the usual Saturday night plans. The drive in is a bargain - $8 for two movies! I'm sold. Pack yourself a little cooler with snacks, concealed adult beverages and you're in for a good time. We'll bring a blanket, pillows and chairs, and huddle our group together for optimal movie viewing. It's a plus for those that have an SUV to pop open the trunk and crank the volume. Now what makes this drive in so spectacular is the food hut. I'm not normally one for movie theater popcorn, but mozzarella sticks, yes! They have burgers, hotdogs, Italian sausage, even garbage plates. I'm a glutton and can't resist the heart attack inducing movie snacks here. If you arrive early, setup your spot and play a few arcade games inside too. They have it all. Helpful tip: Be careful not to let your battery die. Our last visit we had to jump a few cars after the movie. read more

There are 4 screen available each with 2 showings included in the ticket price. Since it's 2 movies for $8 (Which is an awesome price), I thought the selection would be slightly outdated or recently out of theaters. I was surprised and happy to find that all films shown are exactly what you would find in theaters and released on the same dates. You need to go early because the lots fill up quickly. Even ~30 mins before, people had started to move into overflow lots. During the summer if you think you're going to outsmart people by going mid week and in crappy weather to get an empty showing & prime parking...think again. We have tried this twice and have been amazed to see how many people had the same idea & the turn out. read more

How can you not be in love with the drive in? We went for a double feature, packed a dinner picnic and had a fantastic night. We have a hatchback and set up the trunk area as our movie viewing area. You get two movies for $9 per person, which blows the big theaters out of the water. If you would like to be honest about bringing outside snacks, you also have to pay a $5 permit fee- but to be honest, I've never been questioned about having a permit. In truth, I pay about half the time, but always bring snacks and drinks. The drive-in itself is in need of a bit of updating. There is a snack bar and mini-golf, but both are pretty dated. You can get popcorn, candy, or more substantial snacks if you prefer. The bathrooms are another area that needs a lot of work. By intermission of our movie (the last to end) the bathrooms were messy, drenched with (what I assume is) toilet water, and missing toilet paper in many stalls. To me, Vintage is the "no frills" drive in. I love that it's close to the city and will absolutely be back again at least one time each summer. If you live down there, or can stay up late to drive back, the drive-in in Perry is in a lot better shape, and has excellent food. read more

We think it's a pretty good deal even with the $5 dollar food charge (we always bring subs, drinks, and some candy) so for two people $21 isn't unreasonable given that's about the cost of 1 movie in a theatre during prime time. It's got all the makings of a 5-star establishment. So why only 3 stars? Quite simply, the bathrooms are disgusting, and the food bar looks pretty suspect to boot. I purchased 2 Reserved parking passes 2 days before visiting the theater. When we arrived there was no organization as to how the cars were parked. It was a mess. I asked a young parking attendant where the reserved parking spots were and he said there really aren't any. I was out $30. We parked next to a car that was openly smoking pot all night and our kids could smell it. We loved the idea of the drive in but for all the charges they make you pay there should be a lot more organization. read more

I used to love coming here with my best friend (See Sonia M. below) as teenagers. We used to come to the flea markets religiously. I was always able to find really great vintage and collector's items. This is probably something that I actually LIKED getting up early to do, especially during my teenage years. I've only been to the drive-in movie part of it once, and it was pretty busy so we didn't actually have a good spot. There are only about 450 drive in theaters left in the US, so it's pretty cool to have one nearby, especially since it's only able to operate part of the year. The cost is $8 for an adult for a double feature. There are several screens and they tend to match similar types of movies. For example, it is common for one screen to have two kid-friendly movies playing on the same screen. There is a concession stand, but I think part of the fun is bringing your own food and drink to the drive in. They ask you to buy a $5 food permit when you are bringing in your own stuff... uhm... you don't have to pay that. Make sure your car battery is in good health! Lots of jumps happening. read more

As fantastic as the Drive in is this place also has a kicken Flea Market every Sunday in the warmer months. The Flea Market actually predates the drive in here but they are both a lot of fun. My Favorite thing about a Flea Market is that you never know what you're going to find. Didn't I wish for an old wagon wheel the other day and BAM there one is! From clothes, to toys to a crossbow for that hard to buy for family member this place is a lot of fun to explore. Make sure you check it out when they re open in the spring! read more

We live exactly 1 hour between fingerlakes Drive-In in Auburn (which we love by the way) and vintage drive-in in Avon. We've always just gone to fingerlakes Drive-In but tonight we decided to take our 2 kids to Avon because of the movies playing. At first it appeared that Avon may be the nicer drive-in (looks can be deceiving). We go and spend money on popcorn and drinks for the movie and there we are, sitting in the car waiting for the first movie to begin. Almost an hour after the movie was suppose to start, there was a knock on the window. Yup one of their workers says the projector isn't working and offers us a choice. Either tickets for the future or a refund of the ticket price. The reason this upset me is because that does not recompensate us for the gas and time getting there, the popcorn and drinks we bought (for the movies) or the inconvenience of the family date night we had planned. I feel this showed horrible customer service because everyone on that screen should have gotten there money back and tickets for a future showing for the inconvenience. I guess common sense customer service is just gone. Well, it's the first and last time we ever go to Avon vintage drive-in theatre. Sorry for the long post but I was a little beyond frustrated with the lack of caring and the coy attitude of "oh well, nothing we can do" and just a quick refund to send people on there way. read more
