We went to a store down the street and they were closed even tho it said they were open, the next one didn't have a smaller chair. We went back the next day to purchase the chair. I don't know his name - he was taller, older, with a gold chain on his neck. Every question I asked was met with flat "I don't know" or "maybe in the next shipment". About a month ago, I ordered two furniture pieces and paid a 50% deposit, with the understanding I would pay the remaining balance when the items arrived. While I was in the store, I witnessed another customer ask about a kamaʻāina discount and paying cash to avoid taxes, and the salesperson agreed. I then asked if I could do the same. The salesperson told me that with a Hawaiʻi driver's license, I qualified for a kamaʻāina discount. The salesperson offered to refund my deposit so I could pay cash after the discount was applied when the furniture arrived, and I agreed. Later, I was contacted by the owner (Courtney), who told me they do not offer a kamaʻāina discount and that paying cash was the "discount." That is not what was explained to me in-store. When I asked that the agreement made by their salesperson be honored, it was refused. Instead, I was repeatedly told that the kamaʻāina discount (which they dont offer!!) referred to tax savings, which was never how it had been presented at the time of purchase. I questioned why I needed a Hawaii Drivers License then? Anyone can pay cash! During that call, Courtney ended the conversation after stating she would not honor what had been communicated in-store and had nothing further to discuss. Because of how this situation was handled, I chose not to move forward with the transaction. Potential customers should be wary of what felt like bait-and-switch terms and unethical business practices. What is communicated at the point of sale may not be what is ultimately honored. This experience felt misleading, reflected poor business practices, and completely eroded my trust.

We have purchased many pieces of furniture, plants, art and decor from Paradise Plants over the years. Objectively speaking we have come to realize over time that our purchases from Paradise Plants were all superior in quality and often times the same price as the pieces we bought from other stores both on-island and the ones we had shipped to the island that were far inferior in look and build quality. We purchased some pretty beds from Home World. They look great, however they are very cheaply made and we have had to rebuild all of the internal parts to make them stronger as they all broke in the first year. This was a great expense. Home World sells particle board junk. We noticed the beds we purchased from Paradise Pants had solid aluminum supports instead of cheap particle board. They are all super sturdy and look amazing and were the same price as the Home World particle board junk. Paradise Plants sells quality, unique, indoor furniture at excellent prices. Bamboo and Teak down the road is also good, but mostly used stuff so a bit like shopping at a garage sale, but sometimes you get lucky. Paradise Plants has new, gorgeous pieces every time we go in all at a good price. They also have an excellent outdoor furniture brand called Lagoon that is perfect for the environment here on the island. So far, It's the only outdoor furniture that has survived at our salty oceanfront locations and our corrosive Volcano location. That brand of outdoor furniture is Puna proof! It has no steel to get rusty and is all strong durable plastics and/or non-corroding aluminum. Very happy with quality and price as none of these end up in a landfill after 1-2 years like every other brand we tried. From price, quality/longevity, beauty of pieces, to their excellent customer service and ability to deliver and setup all pieces and have a great customer experience, you won't find a better store that is locally owned and operated employing great local people.

We explained what we were looking for as well as our needs In both style & quality. Rachel made numerous suggestions & we were able to find just what we wanted. We were able to make arrangements to have a furpture delivery based on when we sell our current furnitur there was no problem getting our furniture as all of it was in stock in their warehouse in Kona. We sold our rattan furniture quickly & the furniture was delivered 5 days later. Great service, beautiful furniture. We will be going there again when we are ready to redo the next room.
