    Gigantic slice off pizza
    Beau B.

Awesome spot, ample parking next to the restaurant, because who doesn't love not having to walk a mile to get their food. Went here for lunch, because, priorities. The ambiance was inviting. Even though it wasn't busy. The waitress was friendly, not too chatty, just right. I decided to go with the lunch special, a slice of pizza with the soup of the day, because, why not? The slice of pizza was gigantic and delicious, like a taste explosion in my mouth. Not greasy and very tasteful, my diet's worst nightmare. For sure, I will visit this restaurant again next time I am in town for business.

I ordered on DoorDash and was impressed with how fresh everything was even after delivery. I added notes and the kitchen gave me the service I requested and that's always a bonus. Especially on a busy Friday night. I ordered the small meat lovers, hot wings and fries. I will say the wings are not crispy as advertised but I did get them delivered so maybe fresh to order. But they were still amazing! Juicy and fall off the bone. Not too spicy , but flavorful. The toppings on the meat lovers was perfect! I haven't been in person but I'll update if I do.

This is a small but decent sized bar that has a pizza specialty. It has a local bar or tavern feel to it. The parking lot is very small so you may have to do some maneuvering. There are probably 10 spots in front of the building. But it's free so that's good. They have a whole separate side to the restaurant so if you come in and assume it's small, just know there is more. They have TV's around the establishment so you can catch a game if you are trying to watch sports. They also happen to have outdoor patio seating as well. It's not overly abundant, but there is enough if you wanted to be outside. Now the service was okay. It wasn't anything amazing overall. But they were very delayed with something that I ordered and they're not sure what happened. So they ended up taking it off the bill because it took so long. I thought that was really good to try to accommodate since I didn't ask them to do that and I was the stand-up thing to do. It shouldn't have taken over 20 minutes of mozzarella sticks LOL. But they made it right so I can't be mad at that! They serve slices of pizza, and you can get any of the specialty pizzas in slice form too. The slices are very generous so you won't be disappointed at the size. Cheese steak - This pizza slice was great. I would probably get a whole pie of this lol. The sauce was very good, the meat was tender and cooked very well. I wish that I had gotten more of them (but that would just look like I was being gluttonous, lol). Meat lovers - It wasn't anything special but it was decent. Fries - The fries were hot and crispy, nothing wrong with them. Mozzarella sticks - They were good. Aside from taking all day waiting around for them, they were pretty tasty. Solid appetizer and I would order them again. I got them right out of the grease I guess because they were piping hot and still had the good cheese pool that you expect. It came with marinara sauce and a ranch pepper sauce as well. So if you wanted something with a little kick to it that would be what you would be asking for. Overall, this is a good spot for pizza slices. It isnt fancy, may be a step above a dive bar vibe, but they will treat you right!

Vintage Pizzeria serves Jersey style pizzas, pastas, salads, and drinks from their full bar. It has a vibe that could personify the essential neighborhood bar or neighborhood pizza joint. They really aim to serve families, couples, and people just trying to grab a bite. Their pizzas are solid enough and come at a pretty reasonable price for what you get. A large will feed two hungry people or three average hungry people. Expect the cheese to slightly cover most of the toppings, but fear not, they are hiding under there. The largest salads will feed probably five or six people. They're fresh and crisp. Service is prompt and friendly. They're quick to provide refills and check on you often without being too much. The parking lot is a little annoying and tight for larger cars. Part of the parking lot dead ends to the right as you enter.

This pizza was absolutely incredible!! We ordered it to go because we were down the road selling art but best believe I will be going back soon to sit down inside! The pizza was fresh, delicious and full of flavor!! Everything was cooked to perfection! Don't sleep on this place, y'all!

There are times when one must obey the taste buds... and Vintage Pizzeria easily fit the bill! I've been looking for brick oven deliciousness, for quite some time, as an old haunt of mine fell out of favor. Nestled in the Chamblee area, along the area of Peachtree Rd populated by small business and antique shops, it's easy to miss unless you know to look for it. A favorite of locals, Vintage's exposed brick & wooden-beamed ceilings warmly welcome families and adults alike, with a side of the restaurant reserved for 18+ / adults which is great for watching sports events and quieter conversation. The knowledgeable bartenders and staff keep the drinks and food coming on both sides, while the aromas fill one's senses and complicate the mind on simply what to choose on the menu (possibly a Jedi mind trick...who knows) As this was my first visit, it only seemed practical to start with their namesake pizza - The Vintage. Layered with meats and veggies, it was sure to please. But any pizza connoisseur is going to weigh the pros and cons of the dough (which is made fresh daily) and the marinara. The marinara (not too acidic) melded really well with the neopolitan-style crust and toppings in each bite. Honestly, the best thing about good pizza is when it has that *Mom-n-Pop love* flavor. Vintage easily does that! Other menu options include calzones, subs, salads, pastas, dessert, full beverage fare and kid-friendly items, to please the crowd. I'll be going back to try some of these offerings as well :) NOTE: For reference, the medium pizza pictured (14" I believe) should feed 2-3 adults Parking is adjacent to the building & free, but be warned, the sign is somewhat hidden from street views by trees, so travel slowly when looking for the storefront. TL;DR Galla's serves the finest pizza this pretentious…read moredouchebag of a pizza snob has had in 65 years, which makes you, the reader, a fool if you don't confirm this for yourself. LONG VERSION I'm doing what my people call "kvelling" and it happens when one is joyously surprised with exactly what they want so read on, Yelp monkey! I saw a YouTube review for Galla's, nearby in Chamblee. Very positive review and the pie in the review looked correct. I did some digging to get additional info before my wife and I visited them for the first time. Cynthia was our waitress. Friendly, spot-on service. Checked back often to see how we liked it and if we'd like anything else. The Dough, the Crust, and the Devil This, more than any other component of a pizza, is where the rubber meets the road. The first thing I noticed was the gluten development in the crust. Rather than some bulbous, spottily-burned ring naked of toppings as you'd find elsewhere, Galla's has a minimal naked rim packed close to the edge with toppings. When those bubbled-up crusts from other places rise, the toppings slide to the center, making an even wider swath of nothing and a pool of stuff so thick it doesn't bake sufficiently. The Devil's in the details. I dissected a piece of crust by slowly pulling apart the top from the bottom and observing how the strands of gluten behaved. They were strong and snappy but supple (you Crustinistas out there know what I'm talking about). As for the crust's finish, take a careful look at the bottom of an edge-slice of your Galla's (they're tavern-sliced). Perfect browning, shatteringly crisp for the first thousandth of an inch, and just the right amount of chew. They put just enough salt into their dough so that the dough, all by itself, is full-flavored. I would buy "Galla crust sticks" with dipping sauce as an appetizer, it's that good. I asked Rick, the chef (whom I found out was hired out of the Fine Dining sector), if the dough used 70% hydration. It did. There's a sweet spot with higher hydration percentages where the gluten develops just right and the dough cooks just right into a crispy crust with perfect chew and a distinctive mouth feel. Rick nailed it. Nailed. It. But the more water in the dough, the harder it is to work with because it sticks to the work table; it's more work this way. This is why most pizza joints' crusts are not nearly as good, because they formulate their dough to be dry enough to handle easily and quickly. Galla's crust isn't just a foundation to physically support toppings; it's a masterpiece in its own right. The Sauce Dirty little secret: most pizza places make their sauce by buying a dozen or so #10 cans (big) of commercial pizza sauce from Restaurant Depot or the like; adding their own twist of herbs, spices, sugar, vinegar or Citric Acid, etc.; and mixing it all up in a giant Hobart ground-standing mixer. Some don't even bother with the extra ingredients and mixer--they just ladle on way too little, swirl it over the dough and that's that. And if it doesn't taste good enough, they spike it with chili flake to obliterate your taste buds enough to where you can't tell. Not Galla's. However they're making their sauce back there is fine with me because it tastes like it was made from scratch by people who know how. Balancing salinity, sweetness, acidity, fat, and viscosity ain't easy, chum. At home I use a digital refractometer to dial-in the sweetness, which can kill a sauce faster than any other seasoning. Still, mine isn't as good as Galla's. Not nearly--and I really try. The Mozz Galla's mozz tastes like the full-flavored, full-fat premium cheese I use, and it melts beautifully. As for texture, Galla's also made the perfect "teléfono" stretch, where it's not just a singular blob of molten goo falling from both sides, but a multi-stranded stretch "like telephone wires" that hold, signifying a good protein content and not too much Trisodium Citrate that would otherwise make it melt into the aforementioned blob. The Pepperoni It's sliced in-house to the perfect thickness. It cups beautifully. The edges of the cups are singed to perfection, adding an additional layer of flavor to the well-spiced meat. The fat content is just high enough to really deliver that flavor to your tastebuds. This is NOT the cheap stuff! I've had pepperoni this good in only one other place. It's a prestige brand. The Bottom Line You're getting a pizza that tastes like a million bucks for $18. Oh, they CALL it a "Medium," but anywhere else it's called a "Large." And you won't look at it when it hits your table and think, "Where's the other half of the pepperoni?" You'll think, "Why aren't they charging more?" Which is why I told them, flat out, that they should be charging more. Anywhere else you'd pay $26 and get something half as good. I'll say it again: GALLA'S SERVES THE FINEST PIZZA I'VE HAD IN 65 YEARS. Go see for yourself.

Would I come here again? Nah. I don't think the pizza is bad. I just have a high preference for NY or Napoli style pizza.

When I told the server about my gluten intolerance, she said I wouldn't have to pay for the additional fregola the chef gave us.
