I absolutely loved my experience at Mirko's in Brookhaven! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel like family there's such a warm, welcoming vibe here. I came in on a Monday and was pleasantly surprised by their special: buy a glass of wine and get the whole bottle. I ended up coming back the next day (it was that good) and even brought in my birthday here. The owner was so kind and really made the evening feel special. My waiter gave me a great recommendation the mixed mushroom stuffed pasta with Funghi cream sauce and it was rich, filling, and absolutely delicious. I added salmon to it and asked if the chef could cook it as rare as possible (I hate overcooked salmon), and they nailed it. Perfectly done!! Had lunch with a colleague here. We both had panini. I was surprised that the restaurant was not busy at lunchtime. We were greeted immediately and given a booth in the warm, cozy dining room. The menu has many types of pasta and you can select different combinations of sauce and ingredients. There are also pizzas on the menu. Today the panini sounded best to me. There was a sausage one, a meatball one, and the Capri with cheese and tomato which was my choice. Also cocktails, wine, and other drinks available. While we waited we had some fresh warm rolls with a bean dip similar to hummus. The bread was excellent. Our server explained that all the bread and dough is made fresh. The dip was also tasty. The panini were large and quite beautiful. They came with a small green salad and a cup of sauce, although my colleague asked for extra sauce so I'm not sure it is a regular side. Anyway the panini was delicious and I ate the whole thing even though it was probably two meals worth for me. I can't wait to go back and try the pasta or a pizza next! read more

I worked an overnight last night/this morning, so by the time I got up, it was dinnertime. I called to place a takeout and the associate was helpful and friendly. When I got to the restaurant, it was just a few minutes of a wait until my bag was ready. The staff were all welcoming and polite, and the ambiance was casual and comfortable. There weren't many people inside since they had just opened about a half hour prior, but there were a couple people at the bar. Prices look low, but increase exponentially after add-ons. For my appetizer, I got a half order of Caesar salad ($7). You have the option to add a protein, but I kept it as is. The lettuce was crisp and fresh, the Parmesan and croutons were a classic touch, and it was sprinkled with cracked pepper. The dressing was heavy on the anchovy taste, which was fine for me because I like anchovies, but I wanted to include that as a heads up for those who don't have a taste for it. For my entrée, I got the Fettuccine pasta ($8) with funghi mushrooms, cream, and Parmesan sauce ($10) + salmon ($7) = $25. I could tell the noodles were house made, which was nice! The sauce wasn't very flavorful but was perfect once I added some garlic powder, crushed red pepper, and a dash of salt at home. The salmon was decently moist and flaky which was nice! My meal also came with a complimentary roll which was soft on the inside with a nice crispy exterior crust. I enjoyed my meal over all and look forward to returning to try more dishes! read more

Mirko Brookhaven is one of my FAVORITES! After a recent visit I found out they are under new ownership! I was lucky enough to be able to meet both the new owners, who are wonderful and pouring their heats into this business. This visit I felt well attended to and more impressed with the staff as a whole compared to past visits. The food hasn't changed and is as wonderful as usual! You truly can't go wrong but the chicken fettuccine is my favorite. Also highly recommend the cheesecake as it's lighter than your typical cheesecake or the chocolate mousse. I really wanted to love this place, especially considering it's in the parking lot of where I live. The first time I ate here, I had the Special and both owners were there Motley and Sarah and made me feel so welcome. I had the most amazing experience, I was thrilled to have found this neighborhood gem. But then a few days later, I ordered the Special to go and it was AWFUL! No flavor. Barely any sauce and the noodles were way undercooked. .. I decided I wouldn't order to go anymore. Then a few days later I went back and had the Lasagna. I thought i had ordered a meat Lasagna and there wasn't any meat in it. It was overkill of cheese and a bland marinara sauce. It was so gross...When the bartender checked on me, I said there's not any meat in here and he said it was a bolognese sauce not a meat Lasagna. And I said, well there wasn't any meat in the bolognese sauce. I was very unhappy. I got home and called the restaurant and asked for the owner and I talked to the owner Sarah. I wanted her to know how AWFUL the last two meals that I had gotten there were. I wanted to share it with her rather than write this review. And she told me Thank you for calling and bringing it to her attention and the next time that I came in, they would comp my meal. ... I just went in for dinner. Sarah acknowledged me, so she remembered who I was. Motley was also there....I had the Special. It was fantastic. Then I ordered the Gelato and it was disgusting! It was served to me all melted. Sarah and Motley walked outside where I was eating, because Sarah was leaving and saw that my dessert was gross. They asked how is it. And I said Not good. The waiter came back. I said I would take my check. They didn't comp my entree and they also charged me for the Gelato that I didn't eat! Monty walked up to my table and offered me Tiramisu and said he was going to comp the dessert but the waiter had already charged my card. I said that I hate Tiramisu that I don't like coffee and he and the waiter just walked back inside. This place was referred to me by a friend who raved about their fresh pasta, and she was right! Not my first visit, but last night we dined in and absolutely loved the entire experience. The ambiance was so inviting and the service top-notch. Dominique was so kind and attentive and offered amazing suggestions about the menu. I stepped out of my normal pasta comfort zone and ordered the Marsala Chicken entree was allowed to substitute the potatoes for fried brussel sprouts which were to die for! Partner ordered the fettuccini with chicken and was blown away with the flavors! The owner stopped by our table to check on us which also made the evening special. I need to update this review. I've been the past two weeks. The first time I came was the dinner rush on a weeknight. I ordered the fettuccine add chicken with a Miller Light. The beer was super fresh and the dish was awesome - I cleaned my plate and service was on top of it, despite being busy that night. I visited against the Friday after thanksgiving. I ordered the lasagna and a Miller - the beer was still fresh and the lasagna, while a little overdone, was still delicious. I'll be coming back whenever I feel like some pasta. read more

I visited after they had just been open a few weeks. The bread and bean dip was amazing!! They make all their pasta in house. They have a cute window in the back where you can look into the kitchen and watch them make it. Full service bar with in door and out door seatings the service was also very friendly. I'm not a fan. I ordered the fettuccini chicken Alfredo. I like mine saucy and it fell short. Also, I usually can't eat all my pasta in one setting, but here, you can because the portion was small. My meal was $24 We also ordered.... I think it was grouper.... but it didn't seem right, like undercooked, so we sent it back. They stated it was cooked, but it wasn't similar to what I've had before. The pizza looked good, so maybe ill return only to try that. read more

Great service and an excellent meal at our first time visiting this restaurant. We will definitely be back. From the spinach salad with nuts and cranberries to the lasagna which was flavorful and delicate while being rich. We paired the two with the carbonara and a pizza eating family style. We came in the day after Christmas and we were very disappointed. As soon as we sat down, we were told their pizza guy wasn't there, so we couldn't order pizza, and that's exactly what I wanted to order, so I had to choose something else. I ordered Gemelli pasta with pomodoro sauce. My sister ordered rigatoni with arrabiata and a Cesar said and my Mom ordered rigatoni with Bolognese. After about 10 minutes, the pasta came out. No sign of my sister's salad. My pasta was al dente, which I prefer, but there was hardly any sauce on it and it was very bland. Just a heads up, the Gemelli pasta is green. No big deal - I just wasn't expecting it. The rigatoni of my Mom and sister's dishes was so undercooked that my sister sent hers back. She said it was inedible. When she told the waitress this, she asked if she could have her salad now and the waitress looked over at the counter for it and asked if she still wanted it (I guess they forgot to make it). My sister said she would like to have something to eat while the pasta was being cooked again, so the server went to the back and brought it out a minute later. The shaved parmesan cheese was either old or it had been sitting out. After a few minutes, they brought my sister's arrabiata rigatoni out and this time it was cooked well, but she said the sauce was terrible. They did ask if we wanted grated parmesan cheese for our pasta, which we did, but don't expect freshly grated cheese. Our server had it in a bowl and scooped it out with a spoon. Overall, lunch was a total letdown. Maybe things were off because of the holidays, but regardless, we won't be coming back. read more

We had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy a chamber lunch at this spot. I was so happy to learn that the owner Mirko is from my fathers home province in Italy. We've been enjoying Mirko in Buckhead for many years so you can imagine our joy to learn that Chef Mirko opened a new location not far from us in the city of Brookhaven. The Brookhaven location is located at Town Brookhaven, very close to the new Look movie theater. This location is very spacious and has lots of seating, including booths, tables, and a large bar. For anyone that has been to Mirko before they know that his signature dishes, all involve fresh handmade, homemade pasta in egg or spinach or tri-colore varieties and in several shapes such as short pasta, long pasta, and several choices of fresh ravioli. My go to pasta is the tri-colore with Sorrentina sauce, and when choosing ravioli, my go to is the lobster and shrimp ravioli also with the Sorrentina sauce which involves a high-end imported olive oil, fresh garlic, fresh torn basil, fresh tomatoes, and homemade fresh mozzarella. The menu is set up so you can order one of his signature mains, or choose any one of the pastas in any one of several fresh made to order sauces to create a combination of just your liking. Of the appetizers I would definitely recommend the parmigiana with eggplant appetizer. It is a baked eggplant parm and for anyone who enjoys Italian cuisine the eggplant appetizer is perfection. When you're greeted by the server, they deliver a basket of hot, homemade bread, and some of Mirko's signature cannelloni Bean dip. I would describe the kitchen as very open. There is a station behind a glass wall with all the tools and machinery, to make the fresh homemade pasta, and when they're making it, you could watch everything they're doing. Then the kitchen itself where they prepare the dishes is wide open and on display so to speak and next to that is a very high temperature flame with brick oven where the pizza really only takes about a minute to cook well to perfection. Perfect "Za!" I've been told that the pizza chef has a very storied past and has "tossed pizza" in many different high end establishments around the world. Overall, Chef Mirko chose a very spacious yet cozy space for his Brookhaven dining experience. When chef Mirko is not traveling around the world or back to Italy, you can usually find him at the Buckhead restaurant, and so I would think that he would also be very available at the new Brookhaven restaurant to meet and greet customers when he is back in town. Mirko also helps facilitate trips to Italy... For foodies... which I believe includes some kind of cooking class. Seems very interesting and something you may want to ask about. Overall, I would definitely recommend the new Brookhaven restaurant. You will enjoy it! read more

Sad to say I don't think we will be returning to the Brookhaven location. Although our server tried to be helpful, she forgot one of our meals and another was served cold. The food was just OK, and the entire time we were there the rest of the staff just talked to eachother or stood around. It was so interesting to not have anyone ask how the food was, apologize for the mistakes, check on us, etc. if the food was great we would give it another shot but the ambiance combined with not so great food and lack of regard for customer satisfaction made it 3 stars. read more

Why serve hot food on a cold plate? Makes no sense. My chicken parmigiana was good, but served on a cold plate. My hubs had the salmon, same problem except his sides were ice cold. The server took it back to the kitchen, and then returned with overcooked fish and luke warm sides. Even though he told her the only thing hot on the plate was the fish. My advice is stick to the Italian items on the menu and skip the seafood. Management: PLEASE instruct your kitchen to serve hot food on hot plates, not ice cold. Also, could the kitchen lights dim? I love pasta and they have great pasta. They really do. It's delicious. It's just expensive. I wanted to try the broccoli chicken fettuccine Alfredo but, if I remember correctly, that would have been around $27: $8 for noodles, $10 for sauce, $3 for broccoli, and $6 for chicken. So I stuck with plain fettuccine Alfredo for around $18. That price point just felt a bit too high and not quite in alignment with the restaurant's atmosphere. read more

My family loves Mirko for both, the pizza and the pasta. The food is good and my picky toddler eats it. We also had great service.

This place isn't going to make it. Service is great, don't get me wrong, but the food is not consistent with other Mirko locations. My experience prior to the Brookhaven location was with the Roswell Road location in Buckhead. They were excellent. Unfortunately the Brookhaven location doesn't seem to be following the same recipes. I have eaten there twice in person and had delivery twice. All were underwhelming and I threw most of the food out or left it on my plate. They charge alot for there food, so I am very disappointed the quality is not there, when it is at another location. read more
