The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was spotless, and the ambiance was warm, modern, and inviting. It was the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy great conversation, and have an outstanding meal. The Star Michele pizza was easily one of the best pizzas I've ever had. My friend and I also decided to try the Nutella Pizza, and it was absolutely worth it--rich, delicious, and the perfect dessert. Yeah, four stars, but probably not being fair. This was a really good gluten free pizza. So, obviously, got their pizza (not the star pizzas though, just regular old round) with the gluten free crust and the one that has roasted chicken. Also subbed vegan cheese. The upcharge for the two options added almost doubled the price, which is obnoxious, but such is life as a dairy and gluten and 'everything that is good and wonderful in the world' intolerant annoying human. We also split in of their spring mix salads and each got a glass of wine-cab for me, Pinot noir for the beautiful wife. Start with portions-huge. This wasn't a small salad plate that we split. This was a huge dinner bowl with a good 4 servings. We each had 2 full plates and still have leftovers. As for the pizza, most single serve pizzas, especially gluten free crusts, are 8-10". This was 13". It was gloriously big. And like John Morgan or Morgan & Morgan says, "size does matter". I sticking with 4 stars because I can't give 4.5 and there could have been more cheese and it needed a bit of salt and red pepper. There was good flavor but it was very mild. Also, while my cab was okay my wife's Pinot was awful. The pizza is very good though and like all my pizza reviews, it really only applies if, like me, you are intolerant or allergic to everything good and delicious. Take it for what it's worth. A weekend trip to Atlanta! We usually end up going to the same places so this time we decided to explore a little more. I found this pizza spot on Yelp and it looked really interesting and since pizza is my husband's favorite food, we decided to try it on our first night. We thought we arrived early enough but the restaurant was already quite busy. The space inside felt a bit limited since a large portion was dedicated to the kitchen area. There was also outdoor seating available, though it looked fairly packed as well. We ended up waiting around 30-40 minutes. Our table felt a little too close to the surrounding tables so the seating arrangement was a bit tight. We ordered the Coffee Paolo and the Daniele. The Coffee Paolo was definitely the more unique choice and my husband especially enjoyed it. For my personal taste, I think I would have preferred it without the gorgonzola. The Daniele was delicious and I really loved the thin crust. I only wished it had a little more cheese. Overall, we had a good experience and enjoyed trying somewhere new. Amazing, unique and high quality pizza at a very reasonable price point!! Definitely returning!! The pizza is thin crust but retains its shape and really holds the pizza together. Probably the best dough I have had! Keep in mind this is more so an artisan(?) light style pizza without the heavy feel of a typical pizza, so it doesn't have that filling greasy feel (which can be really good too!) We ordered the Claudio and the star coffee pizza, and we really enjoyed both! The Claudio has a delicious cheese that is kind of like a cream sauce, drizzled with truffle oil to really give it body. The coffee pizza was also good but leaned on the sweeter side, with coffee grounds to add some bitterness to mellow it out. This was also good, and I was a fan of the ricotta pockets!! But if you are not a big fan of cheese (or ricotta), would recommend sticking to the normal pizza shape. This pizza was better the next day after heating it up; I felt like the flavors had more time to meld together. Service was good, they had missed one of our orders but we got a free pizza in return! They were very polite throughout. They have their spicy truffle oil(?) on the table which is a nice kick to add to your pizza. Not bad but not extraordinary. The star pizza is fun but not worth $20 per pizza, and the crust is thin but lacks any body and chew. Not my style but would recommend if you like thin crust (think one step up from Mod). The star pizza is the signature of Mister 01 and features extra bits of chewy crust at the end to contrast with the thin-crust style of the rest of the pizza. The base of each star is filled with ricotta, giving each pizza a lasagna-like flavor to it. Personally, it's not worth $20 per pizza for me, but I can see the appeal. If you decide to come, plan on ordering 1-2 star pizzas per person. Any regular pizza can be made into a star pizza on request. The regular pizzas were less appealing, and I definitely would not recommend the dessert pizzas or the salads. My group tried all three--the regular pizzas lack texture without the star crust, the dessert pizzas were not charred at all and they were overly sweet, and the salads weren't even dressed. This is a mediocre pizza place at best. The staff were so warm and very friendly, extremely attentive but that was the best part in my experience well , maybe that and the spicy olive oil. The croutons which they claim are focaccia taste like they're out of a bag. The $16 salad I had was lack luster and although their "star" pizza looked pretty it lacked in flavor. The ricotta was a richness to it but there was nothing added to it to make it no pun intended but extraordinary. The regular cheese pizza was decent. The thinness of the pies add a nice touch but again nothing fantastic. It was someone's bday and they sang and put cute music on , it was a sweet gesture. The overall ambiance was nice. On a Friday night there was about a 35-40 minute wait for a table for 2. Luckily we were able to sit in the car and wait for a text that the table was ready, since it was cold out and packed with people waiting inside. Also luckily, we were seated at a table kind of by itself in the back. The main area seemed kind of overwhelming with the amount of people and noise. Our server was super nice and attentive. There was a pitcher of water on the tablet which was nice. I love how many vegetarian pizzas are on the menu! Usually I get to choose between a cheese pizza and a veggie pizza. I think the build your own salad option is super cool too! We ordered two pizzas to share - Star Michele and Marco. The crust is super thin and crispy, and I would say the size is like a personal pizza. There's a good amount of toppings; you can't really put a lot of toppings on such a thin crust. The star crust is cute - I was concerned it would be too much crust but it wasn't. The Marco has fresh tomatoes, arugula, and burrata added after the pizza is cooked, which was a nice change but did cool the pizza down very quickly. Our waiter warned us about this which was helpful. I really enjoyed both, and we had a couple slices of each leftover. The pizzas are kind of pricey but everything is pricey nowadays! My friend and I visited Mr. O1 Extraordinary Pizza in Sandy Springs because the parking situation in Buckhead sucked, but we were eager to enjoy some pizza. Unfortunately, it wasn't that extraordinary. The place was so busy that the wait time was about three to four hours, which was absolutely a no go. So, we decided to order to-go and enjoy it in the car. We chose the Claudio pizza in the star format. The staff recommended adding the cheese at home to prevent it from becoming too liquidy, but we decided to take it how they serve it because we were going to eat it immediately in the car. Now, when we got the pizza, it was already quite melted and the consistency was very strange--almost like heavy whipping cream on top of the pizza. Despite that, the cheese didn't really run off the slices, like it was ignoring the laws of physics, which was incredibly odd... Flavor-wise, the pizza looked great but didn't quite meet the expectations. Both of us noticed a strange, chemical-like taste, and only the portion with the ricotta cheese had a more pleasant flavor. The crust was incredibly thin--thinner than we expected--like, three paper plates stacked on each other, or the first flap on your average hard cover book. If it were just a bit thicker, maybe double the thickness, we believe the experience would be a bit better. Overall, while we weren't fans of this particular pizza, we'd definitely consider returning to try other flavors. Next time, we'd likely make a reservation or dine in to improve the experience. My second time around and the service and quality holds up! We came around noon on a Saturday and had no wait! We were seated at the back of the restaurant where it nice and quiet. This time around, we tried the Star Luca, Star Beckham, Elisa, and Maria. The Star Luca remains a favorite, with a nice balance between the salami and fresh basil. I appreciated the truffle oil and honey on the Elisa, and the freshness of arugula and salty parmesan and prosciutto on the Maria. The Star Beckham was very rich with tender, flavorful bacon and a delightful ranch drizzle. I love that you can have half-and-half pizzas so you can have a variety of flavors, and most pies can be turned into their famous "Star" pizzas with ricotta! Visited the Sandy Springs location on a Thursday evening around 7pm. Was told the wait would be about 30 minutes but there were 15 parties ahead of us. The wait turned out to be just over an hour but the place was packed and I observed the staff as they quickly served and bussed each table, to get guests in and out efficiently. Service was stellar. The pizza is good. And the environs are lively, accentuated by the constant influx of customers who come here in droves. The music is a bit loud, and I wish restaurants in general would stop trying to make the music compete with the sound of people talking. I mean, I love good music. All spaces around the restaurant AND the nearby parking deck costs money if you exceed a 2 hour limit. Mister O1 does not validate. The claim to fame is a "star pizza" (see photos). Kind-of a gimmick, this is a pizza with the crust clipped and folded onto itself, and then filled with ricotta. It is a tasty gimmick. There is a selection of pre-defined star pizzas on the menu, but you can get any pizza made in star-fashion for a few more bucks. All pizzas are 13" in diameter, unless you order the small, 8" pizza. The vegan cheese made one friend very happy. My Mushrooms pizza done star-style was quite tasty, and I had some leftovers for lunch the next day. Staff will put a bottle of some spicy olive oil on the table (you can buy one for your very own). It was nice, but the standard ol' chili flakes are still my preferred addition if I want a little "zing." We enjoyed the experience and would go back, aiming for a less-busy time of the week. I love our server- she was so friendly and helpful. We ordered a bottle of wine (it was half of glasses and bottles I think during the afternoon). We got the super Tuscan and it was fab! We started off with the burrata- OMG it was the best I've had. The skin was soft and the filling just melted in your mouth. I love the olive oil on the table drizzled on with the rosemary flatbread. You have to try it! The Caesar salad was large and good for sharing. It was well dressed and the lettuce was crunchy and fresh. Star Luca was unique since it is a star shape, but the crust was lightly crisp and soft and chewy. The salami was spicy and the creamy ricotta really made the pizza come together. They ended up giving me a free glass of wine because it wasn't a full pour which was very kind. We tried their signature pizza Star Luca. I would highly recommend. The coffee paolo is my favorite, very interesting coffee and blue cheese combo that tastes surprisingly good even for those who don't like blue cheese. I tried the Daniele (a prosciutto red pie) as well but it wasn't quite as flavorful as I would've liked. Both crusts were phenomenal though, very flavorful and crispy. Next time I would replace the Daniele with the star pizza that has truffle oil. They give you a bottle of olive oil that's Mister O1 branded and sourced from Miami that was one of the best olive oils I've had in the US. Pairs very well with the crust. Mister 01 is truly a special place, and I'm so happy this franchise made its way to Georgia! The first time I visited, I went with a friend. We chose to sit inside and decided to split two pizzas. The pizzas are a decent size and shareable since the crust is thin and crispy! I love the crust because it's not heavy like hand-tossed or deep-dish pizza. We ordered the Star Marco and the Coffee Paolo. Any pizza can be turned into a star-shaped pizza; however, we were informed that the only exception is the Coffee Paolo pizza. This particular pizza comes shaped like a star and has a crust stuffed with ricotta cheese. Delicious! Both the Star Marco and Coffee Paolo were unique and tasty! The Star Marco has a fresh taste with arugula, fresh tomatoes, and is finished with burrata stracciatella cheese. Although the burrata is cool, making the pizza less hot than usual, it is very refreshing and light. The Coffee Paolo pizza offers a different flavor profile with honey, gorgonzola blue cheese, and coffee grounds. The small bits of gorgonzola blue cheese were my favorite bites. Because the pizza was so good, I had to take my husband to try it. When we arrived, there was a short wait. I really wanted to dine al fresco due to the beautiful weather, so I was willing to wait. Thankfully, it didn't take long for our table to be ready, and I got my wish of dining outside. We went on a Friday night and had the pleasure of being served by Farrice, who was amazing. She thoroughly explained the menu and shared some of her favorite menu items. From Monday to Friday until 6 PM (I can't remember what time they start), they offer half-price bottles and glasses of wine. We decided to try two glasses: Chardonnay and a Montepulciano Paradoso. I also tried the Chianti Grati but preferred the Montepulciano Paradoso. We ordered the Star Elisa with sausage and the Coffee Paolo. Both pizzas were just as delicious as they were during my previous visit with my friend. The manager was walking around, greeting and talking with guests. He shared some additional information that I wasn't previously aware of. One interesting detail he mentioned was that any pizza can be made into a star pizza for an additional cost, including the Coffee Paolo; however, if you remove an ingredient from your pizza, they deduct it from your bill. Delicious pizza! I love the star shapes, so fun! We started off with the Greta salad which was quite a large portion- the greens were very fresh. For mains we ordered the Carlos, Marco, Luca, and the Coffee Paolo all in the star shape. I love how pretty these are to look at. So creative. I also love how much cheese they have. My favorite was the coffee pizza. A perfect amalgamation of bitter, sweet, salty, and savory. I loved getting a whiff of the coffee aromas while eating this. All of the pizzas were great though- honestly, I don't think you can go wrong. The restaurant itself is quite loud and was very busy when we came (weekday dinner). There was a ~20 minute wait. The owner came by to ensure we were satisfied with our meal. Service was good. Small complaint is that there was glare from the sun in my dad's face throughout most of the meal. Because of how busy the restaurant was, we couldn't switch tables. It was rather inconvenient (he kept moving in various directions to avoid the glare) but bearable. The place was packed when we arrive. After our meal i understood why! In not a huge fan of pita and anything but here the cheese was so soft and had tasted so great with the salad and the bread. They had this spicy olive oil and it was the BOMB The pizza was just as delicious as it looks! You couldn't ask for ANYTHING more!!! Except maybe for tips on how to get a table. My secret: Go during Lunchtime, during the week! It's a breeze! I have a feeling that service will be excellent regardless of when you go-- it's just that kind of place: where the restaurant feels like it's family-own-and-operated and the servers feel like members of that family! But you will almost certainly wait for less time during lunch. I was skeptical that the star pizza would be any different than the regular pies-- figured it was just an iconic pic, nothing more. Not being a HUGE fan of ricotta (the cheese that fills the star pizza crust), I got only one Star as a token one to taste. EVERY person at the table exclaimed that it was our favorite one, easily!! All pizzas were delicious and worth it. Thin to perfection and actually flavorful, with seemingly great ingredients! Located in Sandy springs, in the building with city hall. Across the street from flower child. Free parking is challenging. Up to two hours is free in the square. Indoor and outdoor seating. Depending on when you, may determine immediate seating. I would strongly suggest if you are crunched for time, MAKE a RESERVATION. This place is packed at lunchtime. And according to the reviews, long wait times are normal. Seating inside is tight. Menu: salads, pizza, wine. Service: Christina is a gem. She provided the history behind the restaurant. Excellent service. Explained the menu and checked on us, since we were newbies. I will wait for Christina Everytime. She is THA best. Salad portions are amazing. Pizza came out pretty quick. My pizza was amazing. I subbed the cheese for vegan cheese. Kept the stuffed ricotta. They provide their oils to the table. I drizzled the spicy pepper oil and crushed red pepper and it was amazing. I also ordered the Sabrina salad. It was good. Next time I'm getting the Caesar. That looked amazing. And who doesn't like a crunchy salad. Can't wait to go back and try another pizza and wine. You can tell the difference--thanks to high-quality ingredients, many straight from Italy, and an inclusive menu with gluten-free and vegan options too. We absolutely loved the Alessandro Jalapeño Pizza, especially with that drizzle of Extra Virgin Chili Oil--chef's kiss ‍. Flavor-packed, bold, and perfectly balanced. Also tried the Star Luca Pizza, and the fresh basil and tomato combo really shined through. From their Burrata Bar, the Burrata with White Truffle Oil was another standout--fresh, creamy, and the truffle flavor was a solid 10/10. Loved the peppery arugula on the side! Mister O1 is a pizza chain (from Florida) that had recently entered the Atlanta dining scene. There are currently two locations: one in Sandy Springs and one in Buckhead. Great spot to consider for lunch. The vibe is busy and emanates that "happy new spot in town" feel. Note that it gets busy with local clientele as lunch hour progresses during the day. This is the Sandy Springs location, right in the middle of the other Blue Stone Rd establishments. Service was immediately friendly. I was impressed with the patience of the waiter to answer our questions and provide recommendations. They also are willing to customize as needed. We enjoyed the pizzas as they were thin crust. The star shape contains ricotta inside the stars; it was great to try, but I probably don't need to do it again. Will def come back to this spot. read more
