Came here for the first time tonight. Did a phone order for pick up. My husband (from the South) wanted to try the chicken fried steak, and he was torn between the basket and the sandwich. He decided to try the sandwich. I got the boneless wings with hot sauce and we ordered Cajun tater tots to share. When we went to pick up, I was greeted right away, promptly checked out, and we were a little early, so the food wasn't quite ready. Several waitresses came by to check in with me while I waited and that was great to know they were on top of our order. Got home and opened all of our goods and were surprised at the generous portion sizes!! The chicken fried steak on the sandwich was pretty big, and my husband enjoyed it a lot. He said the only thing missing was a side of gravy. Noted for next time, order a side of gravy. The boneless wings were great. The hot sauce has a nice kick, but also a sweet undertone (apple or pineapple, perhaps?) that I really enjoyed. I could only eat half of the wings because the portion size was so big. I'm saving them for a midnight snack. The large Cajun tater tots were also generously portioned. We could only eat half of them, so they are also being saved for later. The Cajun seasoning is great. Not overdone and not too spicy (we were a little worried because my husband doesn't eat anything spicy) but he devoured them and said they were awesome. All in all, we'll definitely be back. We didn't drink, but it looked like a great atmosphere and they had a great selection of drinks, from what I saw. Good music playing, too. read more

We have driven by Vinwood hundreds of times but have never stopped because their front patio outside seating is shaded. However today we discovered they have a back of building outdoor seating area that is sunny! They brought our pup water and everyone super friendly. The place was busy - always a good sign! We shared the grilled chicken wrap with ranch and fries. Loved it!! The romaine in the wrap was fresh and didn't taste like it came from a bag. The chicken was delicious. I'm picky about lettuce and chicken so I was very happy with the wrap and will order again. read more

I'll mention first off as to why only three stars: I don't drink, and it's essentially just bar food on the menu. I don't care when or where you are, bar food is hardly ever likely to get more than and "A-OK" rating, from me no matter what. Greasy and fried food, all that goodness that you would expect. If I could give an independent rating for the service however, I would give five stars. We typically are able to walk in and seat ourselves, and yet still are noticed right away and a waitress is there in no time to take our drink orders. Always kind and prompt. Keeps sodas and waters full at all times. Removes empty plates right away. Brings the check and isn't intrusive. She did a phenomenal job. As for the food, I cannot go somewhere and not order a Reuben. I've been all over the country and I've probably had over a hundred different Reubens. It would be impossible for me to rank theirs, but I'll put it in the top 20%. The house salad was what you would expect, I was happy to find out that they had a Raspberry Vinaigrette, not everyone has that. Aside from the regular menu, the also have a food special of the day I do believe. So that's always worth paying attention to as you walk in. Since the last time I was in, they have expanded the business. It does not feel cramped at all, and they have a nice variety of indoor/outdoor seating. The booths and chairs are very comfortable. This restaurant is one of my favorites! The family that runs it are always polite and accommodating. For awhile they took my Cobb salad off the menu but when I came in they would still make it for me and luckily it's back on the menu. This restaurant goes out of their way for the community and for the Fire Department. They are always accommodating fun raisers. Vinwood Taphouse is the best! The food always tastes delicious, and the employees are always down to earth and friendly. There aren't a ton of restaurants in Philomath, so this is always a good option for when my husband and I just want to pick something up, or if we feel like getting a couple of drinks. First time here. Good selection of beers. Shot staffed. We sat at the bar. Nice people Staff was a little frantic as not enough people working to keep up. Beer came fast but took 30 minutes to get an appetizer. We didn't order food as it felt like the food wasn't very appealing so I won't rate that but as I said it took 30 minutes to get some tots, but they were hot when they came. We didn't eat as it seemed to us as though it would be 'bar food' freezer to frier. Good beer selection but wait time for food not good. Also, I asked for a half pour on my second round and received a full 16oz-which was ok, but again short staffed so I didn't say anything. It's nice Philomath has the Tap house but they need to work on staffing. Friendly place lots of locals and staff is nice. read more

Benwood taphouse has some amazing burgers. I love their fries and tater tot's. They have some good salads. But I cannot get enough of their deep fried pickles., With a cold beer. Can't beat it!! read more

We came here for a family meal & I was disappointed. the food was good- I got the wrap & wings and both tasted good. What was disappointing was that our waitress was wearing a mesh mask, not a real, protective mask- why even bother wearing one then? She was leaning over our table, came by to talk to us... They were not requiring other patrons to wear masks either- several people came in without one and it was apparently fine. They were sitting people at all of the tables inside, so we did have someone back to back with our booth which was uncomfortable to say the least. I love to support restaurants & small businesses right now- but please make sure the employees are wearing masks & that you are following guidelines! I have family members who are high risk, and that is really frustrating and makes me not want to come back. read more

Nice staff, beer was cold and fizzy, but I've been here twice in the past few years and they've been out of veggie burgers both times. They've also crossed the hummus plate off the menu. I have been meaning to stop here, and today was the day. It worked out great. It wasn't jammed full (Which is rare). Found one of my favorite waitresses working there. The other lady weather she was one of the owners or one of the family members was very pleasant, and willing to let me sample a couple items on tap. The atmosphere was pretty mellow, and relaxing. Meh... not really impressed. Had the fish and chips which were 3 small, super greasy and most likely previously frozen pre-made Cisco items. The lemon wedge was the same size as the pieces of fish. Accompanying the horrible fish was approximately a half portion of fries compared to your normal pub amount of fries that come with an entree. All this for $12..... I really wish I would have gotten a burger, those looked way better. We were excited to try the clam chowder that they had advertised as the homemade daily special all over every wall but, they had run out.... it was only 4pm and not busy. Relatively cozy inside and a friendly staff, but not enough to warrant another visit or try. read more
