I love the concept, but it wasn't my favorite for just the wife and I going out. I'd go back with a larger group of friends or colleagues. Since it's game themed, it gets really loud. It was also very crowded. Pinball was .75 per player which seems excessive to me. They had a DJ and a poll on "which song do you want to hear next", which I thought was cool, but they never played and of the poll winners. read more

Our host sat us at the bar directly behind the turntables which blocks any view of anything. Like sitting behind a wall. We moved ourselves to open stools. After ordering drinks, we were asked if we were ready to order and replied no. We were then asked 2 more times within a few minutes. Went to Vinyl Taco tonight because people in Sioux Falls have been ranting and raving about it. Ordered a few street tacos (gringo, cilantro lime chicken, and tinga) that were listed as street tacos. They came on flour not corn tortillas so they were not GF. Food looked cute, but felt "heavy." Drinks were all right. Margaritas tasted virgin, sans booze. Not what we wanted. If you want Americanized, carb-loaded and fattened Mexican, this is for you. Also has a cute lava wall which is great for Instagram, but just take the pic, and go without the food. read more

My husband and I went here last night for dinner. The service was great and the food was awesome. The atmosphere was very fun and menus are on record sleeves, which was cool. A manager stopped to check on us - which was a nice touch. Everyone was very friendly and service was fast. Great location behind Scheels. My niece had been here a few weeks back and said she absolutely loved the place and the food. We were going to go there anyway but her comment helped solidify that decision. read more

Ambiance and appetizer. One star each. Ordered the Lime chicken taco and "Mexican" beans. Bland and boring. No lime or cilantro flavor to the Chicken, and I could make those beans by opening a can. Shallow flavors, disappointing. I had high hopes. Family in from out of town all of our first times here. I won't be rushing back. Attended opening night of the lounge/club night. Our server, Capeish was nice. EVERY customer has to give the server a drivers license and a credit card - even if paying with cash. Every drink is served in plastic keg glasses so don't order a martini. 6 appetizers to choose from and they won't let you bring food over from the other side "because they are separate". We had a very disappointing experience here on our second trip. The waitress on our first visit was amazing. She was sweet, helpful and very efficient! The food was good and interested us enough to come back to try more things. The second visit went wrong before we even got our food so take this review with a grain of salt. The waitress ruined everything about this place for us and I don't know when or if we will ever be back. I want to preface this with, I have never had a bad experience with a waiter or waitress in my life and we are very easy going people. We got there early to get a good seat and checked in with the host. It is a little loud but it sounded like he said "there's a couple of seats at the bar, and pointed, and also said there are booths along this wall and pointed there as well. He just let us go in--he didn't seat us, so we opted for a booth and sat down at one. All great so far! My husband started to see a waitress gesturing across the bar and seemed to be pointing at us angrily. She finally comes over and barked "this table is dirty" and started to slap on a soaking wet washcloth. She put the items down on the wet table, knocking something over in the process. Lots of attitude, so when she left, my husband indicated he wanted to go. I was still excited and not ready to give up on the place yet so we stuck it out just a little longer. She came back and said "do you want to order something to start?", sounding angry. I'm the opposite of confrontational, but I couldn't take it anymore and said "I would like to know why you are acting this way towards us. Did we do something wrong?". She said, "you were told you couldn't sit here!". I told her that isn't what we were told but she continued to argue saying she had checked with the host and we were lying. I was shocked and said something like I can't believe you are talking to us, like this, right now! My husband was getting up at this point and I was shaking, as she was continuing to argue about where we sat. I stopped by the host and tried to express what had happened but was so upset by this point I had no idea what I said to them. It seems so silly and we would have been more than happy to move to a new booth if that one was not ready for us, no problem! Easy!! read more

Had fun playing shuffleboard and the one drink we got was good and reasonable. Unfortunately, the service was worse than slow. It was almost non-existent even though it was a crowded Saturday night. They could easily be making triple what they are making if they just had people to wait tables. Such a shame. We will try again another time. read more

The bartenders were amazing and the food was good but super,super expensive for what you get. Led Zeppelin started playing and the owner decided to tell the bartender that it needed to be turned off because he didn't like it. Who owns a "vinyl" place yet turns off zeppelin and not only that but had him turn it off mid song. ANYWHO, the owner should probably stay behind the scenes and not sit at the bar complaining in the view of customers and leave alone the bartenders who are clearly doing a great job. Fun place to grab a bite and play games in the social club area. Lots of activities to choose from and no screaming kids. Tacos are pretty good - way better than any others I've had in Sioux Falls. The only minor complaint is that I thought the margaritas seemed a little weak/watered down. read more

Excellent service! Started with the queso dip but didn't finish it, unfortunately it is rather bland and thin. The tacos are a little expensive for what you get in my opinion. Everything is al la carte and doesn't come with sides or even complimentary chips and salsa when you are sat. The chicken tinga, chicken mango and BBQ chicken were great. The shrimp a la parilla had a really pungent seafood odor and taste - I wouldn't get it again. They aren't open on sundays, which just totally blows my mind. read more

I've been to the social club and the restaurant and they were both good! I am from ND and there is a Vinyl Taco up there as well and I have only heard good things at that location so I was eager to try the one down here in Sioux Falls. My friend and I had the Tortilla Popper appetizer and those were excellent! I had the BBQ Chicken Taco (with a side of mangoes) and the Fish Taco. Both were really good. I had a Raspberry Rocket Man Mojito, and while it was good it was $10 and I felt that you didn't get a whole drink. I also had a beer with pickles in it and that was $6. Overall, it's a great place to eat, drink, and socialize. read more

VERY disappointing. I do not normally post reviews but seriously, this is one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. Service was extremely poor. There was no hostess so we were unsure of where to sit. The bartenders just stared at us when we walked in, didn't encourage us to sit wherever. We chose a spot and then were told we couldn't sit there because we had more then 4 people in our party. Our waitress told us we could sit at a booth that was about to open. A different waitress then cleaned the booth, we sat down and supposedly another group of people were told they could have that booth. The waitress that cleaned it was upset with us. When asked if the Queso was really spicy, our waitress said yes so we ordered the red sauce instead. The red sauce was WAY spicier then the Queso. They brought out a new Chimi and it was awful. The shredded beef was not shredded and basically was a pot roast inside of a fried shell. Also, most Mexican restaurants come with free chips and salsa. Not here. They are extra. And most of the dishes do not come with a side of rice or beans, also extra. Just a big old fat pot roast chimi on the plate covered in super spicy sauce. We will not be going back. read more

I've been wanting to try this place, but since you have to be 21, took some time before we didn't have kids with us to be able to try it out. We like to eat outside due to COVID, and there was space available on the patio, so we were happy. The servers wore masks, which was also reassuring. We ordered chips and queso. There was a generous amount of queso for around $6, and I felt this was a good deal. I also ordered a boozy lemonade drink for $10, and it was very watered down and had little to no alcohol. We each ordered 3 tacos. They were good, except for the shrimp one - it had corn (a lot of corn, and only 3 small pieces of shrimp), and they clearly used canned corn - which totally ruined the flavor. This restaurant is located in the heart of corn country - and our visit was during sweet corn season... There is no need to use canned corn - EVER. Our server was fine - no complaints there. I'd maybe give them another try with a different selection of items (avoiding anything with canned corn - ha!). read more
