I noticed the sign for "Off the Top" Barber Shop when walking on Palm Canyon (OK, to the liquor shop next door). Did I mention I needed a hair cut? My hair is thick and grows fast so it gets out of control fast and it was well past out of control. Now the place is not much to look at. Clean, but very simple and I think only the owner works there, Asbel. Super nice guy (and a million times better than the terrible place up the road, Snip, Snip Buzz, but that's another story). It is a simple barber shop, harkens back to the places I might have gone with my dad when I was really little. But, the great part is, I got the BEST haircut I've had in at least 10 years. One of those haircuts that is so good, you want it not to grow anymore. It looked good when I left, but even after washing and styling at home, phenominal! So, get past the spare look of the place, it's definitly not a spa or a salon, but get your hair cut there. I'm planning on my next haircut there the next time I'm in town. He cut my hair and was absolutely meticulous - paid a ton of attention to ensuring it was cut just right. We moved here 3 years ago and it's been hard to find a decent barber.
