Worst pedicure I've ever had for $35. I timed her, it was 14 minutes. Really? Will never go back or ever recommend to anyone.

I like this salon. It's super convenient and the parking is easy. Both times I've gone, I was able to walk in and be serviced immediately. The salon is clean and all the nail techs are friendly. The only thing I did not like is the inconsistent pricing. First time I went, I received SNS with extensions and a chrome topcoat for $70 + $10 tip. I got the exact same service 1 month later and it was $80 before tip. The nail tech explained that it was because I got chrome this time. I had chrome both times and even had the same nail tech. I checked my receipts to confirm. Aside from that, I think this is the best option in the area for nails. read more

I have tried to support this salon for years with alway a disappointing experience. Every time I give them a chance it reminds me that the convenience is not worth it. The attitude of staff is terrible and the polish is all old, thinned down and does not last. I had a less than 30 minute pedicure for $50 that didn't last 5 days. I will never go back. I went to VIP nails for a gel nail color change. The guy that did my nails was very rude the whole time. It took him approximately 30 minutes to do my nails. When he finished, he charged me $10 more than what was listed on their listed prices. That was my third time going there, so I knew that he was overcharging me, and I asked to see their listed prices. He said that the prices had changed, but it wasn't updated on sheet. I asked for a manager, he called for a manager but spoke to her in his language before she got to the counter. She validated his actions; therefore I will never return to VIP! read more

It was just a very rushed and unprofessional job. In 20 minutes they finished both my mani and pedi. My cuticles look horrible..possibly worse than before I came in. The paint has already chipped on one nail after only 30 minutes. I will not return. read more

I have been here a few times now and am pleased with the service overall. I personally enjoy how quick they are, and I have never experienced a lack of quality. They do a great job in listening to what I want and creating it. The photos attached are of my last two gel manicures from them (pearl/chrome and red). The red color I also got a pedi, which was good! I have also gotten acrylics done here, and I remember being pleased with the results. My gel mani was $50 I believe, which in these times is about what you'd expect to pay. Both times I was a walk in and was serviced immediately. I've been to the salon three times. The first time I went my husband was not enthused about the service we received and two pedicures cost $160. I'm all about self care so didn't really mind the cost. Second time I made an appointment full set of nails was $75 very short now I'm questioning. Each time I've been to VIP Nails at Arboretum, my experience has been horrible. They are disrespectful to me and based off the way I'm treated as an African American women , they're rather racist. I call before I arrive they always tell me a cheaper price over the phone but when I get there I'm charged more $. I tell them I want my nails short, french tip, simple right. Not to them they will make my nails long, then get mad when I ask them to cut them down. I go to VIP nails because it's convenient, not for the service. These are my nails the finished product. Tried this place for the first time for a basic mani and pedi. Unfortunately, the person who did my pedicure - I think her name was Kim, though she didn't introduce herself - was unprofessional, lacked overall courtesy, and did not show precision in her abilities. The entire experience was rushed. I'm normally a person who appreciates a quick, efficient nail experience - but this was sloppy from start to finish. No one asked me what nail shape I preferred. When my sunglasses dropped to the floor, there was minimal effort shown in helping me protect my belongings. At the end, I asked to speak with the manager and she claimed to be too busy to process my complaint in person. I registered my complaint with the person at the front desk, and I will be following this up with an email to the manager. It's definitely not something I like to do, but if the business doesn't get honest feedback, then it will continue to overcharge people for poor services. My main criticism of VIP Nails is that they need to STOP doing mani/pedis at the same time. It's hard to relax, and it's impossible to get a truly quality nail experience when your nails are being painted on a pillow on your lap. I've seen the other reviews here on Yelp, and many customers have complained about this being a rushed, low-quality experience. If they don't change their business practices, they will surely lose repeat clientele. Maybe their goal is to just get people in and out quickly, so that they can attempt to double their profit. But they need to keep in mind that people get their nails done partly to relax - not to be rushed out the door - and that every customer deserves to have basic standards of professionalism, courtesy, and precision met. read more

Dang... I used to love this place. Disappointing. I've been a regular here for almost 10 years and after my third disappointing visit I'm a row, it's confirmed that it's time to find a new place. The overuse of that electric filing tool and insistence to cut my cuticles have left my nails looking thin and feeling sore. I have asked repeatedly to allow the gel and SNS to soak off but they insist on jackhammering through my nails to get more people in and out of the chairs. It's sad to see how the service has declined and has been compromised to get more people through the door. I went for the most expensive pedicure thinking it would be a relaxing treat but instead I paid a premium for a rush job that was the opposite of relaxing and the technician didn't even tell me she was done. I kinda figured it out when she was off to the next chair hacking away at someone else's nails so I proceeded to remove the remainder of the wax from my feet and pack it up. To add insult to injury, they sent me a 20% off email but refused to let me use it saying it was only for birthdays and proms. The email doesn't have any such restrictions. My usual salon was closed (Easter Monday) so I booked at VIP Nails, Arboretum. I requested a basic pedicure and a gel manicure with an advance appointment. The salon was not busy upon arrival at 10:30 AM. I was not greeted properly as a customer upon walk-in and was not offered a drink; customary at this salon. I let it go. The manicurist didn't greet me upon starting the pedicure. She was in a hurry. She barely pushed or cut the cuticles. I was lucky to get my nails clipped! My pedicure was completed in 20 minutes, maybe less. I could have done better in my master bathroom myself! Never before have I experienced this kind of treatment at any salon. Next..... onto the gel manicure with same manicurist. Mistake. At the end of the process, I noticed that the nail color didn't reach to the end of the cuticle bed, and there is now a small gap between the cuticles and the color. Must have also been in a hurry for the manicure! Do yourself a favor. Hurry past this place completely and spend your money at a quality salon that provides acceptable customer service. What a disappointment/sham! This makes me appreciate my go-to nail salon. read more

Extremely poor customer service and all around bad attitude. There is an older nail tech who does sloppy work. And when I pointed it our to hee she scoffed and said I can do it. She also did gave me a lousy massage. We come to these saloms to feel pampered. Paid for $45 parrafin add. She should not do nails. Take her out the rotation. Sloppy work. please donot use this business, they add tips to your credit card unbeknownst to you, even when you have tipped them generously I tipped each Nail person $15 for 4 sets of nails and they added another 60 dollars to my bill of $235....total bill... i checked my card when I reached home because I was suspicious when they didnot give me a receipt after asking for it several tomes as the printer paper apparently ran out. please don't patronize business like VIP Nails in Providence BLVD in Charlotte NC as they resort to common theivery. read more

I went in for a pedicure this morning before they were busy and got seated immediately. Unfortunately, it was downhill from there. The massage chairs aren't very good. There was no pressure. Because the chairs were so bad, I decided to not get the deluxe pedicure. She hardly scrubbed the bottom of my feet and did a poor job manicuring my toenails. The massage and her actual paint job were ok, which is why I didn't give it one star. I wish I had saved the money and done them on my own. read more

I have given this nail salon the benefit of the doubt many times and have gone back time and time again. I am done giving them chances. They are completely rude and fast. They do not care about the end result nor the customer as they are only concerned about productivity and getting everyone in and out as fast as possible. They have cut my toes a few times and they often kick my belongings underneath the Pedi chairs ( weird, I know.) Most of the time my gel nails do not last but a week and they have refused to fix their mistakes when I have returned. On top of poor service, they are expensive and I do not think i've been charged the same price twice as each different technician seems to pull a new price out. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Ask for pricing up front !!!! I've been coming to this salon for waxing for the past year and a half . This is my first time being overcharged . When I made this statement , it was treated as an "oh well" my waxing service has never been more than $15 . Always $12 . I was told because she had to pluck hairs , it was extra ..... as if that wasn't a part of my service . Not to mention the last time I came to get my nails done they were lumpy , uneven & I came to get one nail fixed the next day ... it was a completely different color . ask for the receipt!!! this place will double or triple tip themselves on your credit card! they recently helped themselves to a $40 and then tried to say they can't change or adjust tips. we all know that managers have the capab to adjust incorrect charges. but they will lie straight to your face and act like they wouldn't be able to do that. make sure you double check your receipt and ask for it as proof so you can dispute the charge with your credit card com or bank because they will help themselves and wont correct it. i will never go back and do not recommend any service who takes from customers in this manner. ever read more

I have always raved about this place, but unfortunately my last experience there was a disappointment. I was overcharged for a gel manicure that I have been getting at this location for years. I should have questioned the charge, that same day, but was so bewilderedby the new, overly chatty manicurist, who usually works at their Blakeney location. I did call the next day to see if maybe their prices went up, but was told that if I was getting my cuticles trimmed there would be an extra charge. (My cuticles were not trimmed and I didn't receive any additional service that I didn't usually get with the same manicure). I know everyone deserves a second chance, but this type of deception is really upsetting. They have lost my trust. Thankfully they aren't the only game in town. I was in need of my nails done ASAP after being in the salon more than my planned one hour for hair color so I YELP'ed a nearby nail salon and WHaa-Laa this place showed up being across the street in the Arboretem which is where I needed to go as well to run in Walmart to grab last minute travel items for my trip the next morning. I entered and was immediately greeted by a voice with no face (all faces were in a pedicure bowl or on some nails at a nail station), however I spoke into the air stating that I wanted a Mani & Pedi with Gel OPI polish on my nails and the response was "Pick Color".. I browsed the array of available gel colors and provided a number for the color I wanted and the lady sat me at a pedicure chair (AWESOME chair Massage however it SQUEEZES your Hips and Buttocks while massaging you VERY TIGHT and it's automatic).. I had three people work on my at once (sounds VIP, however that's very frustrating because you can't watch all three and I like to watch what is being done to my nails on both my hands and feet). I like manicures and pedicures to be relaxing NOT RUSHED and this seemed rushed, the lady cut me with the cuticle remover twice and I had to tell her ENOUGH I will cut my own cuticles because you seem like you are in a hurry. My polish is still on (Gel is to last two weeks - it's been one day shy of a week) which is good because I've tried other nail salons here in the QC (I'm from Chicago) and my polish came off within 2-3 days.. If EVER in a RUSH I'll go back and give them another shot based on the fact that their gel isn't watered down.. read more

Horrible nails. I got a full set on my birthday may 8th, and I spent $84 on a full set plus a manicure and "french tips" and simply getting my toes painted. The french tips are way to thick and not what i wanted at all and she made me pay before she painted them and when I asked her to fix one of them she said it was fine. several of my nails are already trying to come off and one already has. Also I can see through the polish! I have another Nail salon I got to and a full set normally lasts me 3 weeks but every time I come here they come off within the first 10 days. Me and my friend went to go get fill-ins and pedicures when we first walked in the guy gave us a strange look on his face didn't give us the password so we could sign in on the iPad they were rushing me to sit down in the chair when I was trying to pick my color out but he got irritated because I didn't find the color right away and didn't start my pedicure went to the other side and started someone else's pedicure so me and my friend did not get our pedicures together they didn't have the colors that I needed the whole job was rushed and the pricing did not make any sense my friend got gel polish on fingers and toes I didn't and it was a $5 difference read more

I tried VIP nails for the first time. The salon is very pretty inside. They serve alcohol as well. I also liked that they do the mani the same time as the pedi because it cuts down on waiting and time. That's about all the positives. They were very rough with my hands and feet. I told both people a few times that it hurt. The manicurist scrapped under my nail while filing which left an open cut. I had polish on my skin after my pedicure so the manicurist fixed it. The gel manicure looked great, until about 5 days later. It started peeling on 4 fingers (see pictures). I will not be going back. read more
