If you are looking for a great nail place, this is it! I would often come to this salon for pedicures when I lived in town. Always a great job, sanitation, procedure of service and atmosphere is what I look for. As a retired Cosmetology teacher for over 20+ years and being in the business since the early 80's. Now living in Fl and returning to CNY called the salon and the owner Cindy gave me an appt. Ironically, she remembered me from 3 yrs ago. Service was great, Cindy fixed my thick gel nails from a previous salon. She does beautiful work. Great personality too! Tanya gave me a pedicure and again very satisfied. I had split toe nails and she spent extra time and attention. Can't even tell how bad they were. I highly recommend this salon. I usually opt to only review Places I can give a positive + rave review for ... but I have to review this one. :(( They were busy today because of Holiday weekend granted, but will never go there again. I even took closeup pics of my pedicure to look at to see if I was imagining things. They're that bad. And the manicure - my thumb was cut so badly and bled and bled and the gentleman then put alcohol on it to clean it, thought I was going to go thru the roof it stung so badly. Not even an apology for the cut . And you know when someone barely cuts your cuticles but chips away at it so it FEELS like maybe they're doing the job but they're not really actually cutting much of anything? Yep that too. Worst expierence ever. Was charged 35$ for a fill with 4 broken nails when their base price is 15. Wanted all of my nails except my ring finger pink and my ring finger to be a glitter. There is absolutely nothing VIP about this place! I wanted to have my acrylic nails taken off which by the way I did not have put on in this dump and they sat there and try to pop them all off with another now rather than soaking them off with acrylic to preserve my real nail underneath!! It hurt like fucking hell as they were not lifting at all! I told them they need to soak them! so the girl gave me an attitude put me at another table and started soaking them in a bowl!after a couple minutes another girl came over took a nap now started popping them off defeating the entire purpose of soaking them to gently remove them. They asked if I wanted a manicure which would be an additional $25. They did absolutely nothing to my now except cut them my real now was literally shredded from popping them off!! Chunks taken out of it!! Layers peeling off!! It was disgusting and painful! I asked what the manicure consisted of and they said painting and removing cuticles! Iclarified is that it?! She said yes. $25 to do those two things?! Absolutely ridiculous! Those two things should be included with a take off!! And a manicure itself should include lotion, cuticle oil, shaping, and much more!! Well I was being treated like a piece of shit, a girl sat down in a table next to me to get her dip gel changed and they appropriately removed it by soaking cotton balls an acetone and wrapping each finger individually in foil. Which is how my nails should have been removed! I pointed it out and said that is what I was asking for when I said I needed mine soaked not popped off!! This place is a bunch of butchers! Stay far away!! I had to go home and give myself a manicure! The corners of my nails are ripped off! The manager was talking so fast and with such poor english that she tries to get you to buy up in the packages . I have been to many nail salons within the area, and have had the best experience at VIP, each time I went. The owner, Cindy, is very personable, and makes you feel like family. I even took my mother & daughter with me 2 weeks ago, before my sister's wedding, and they treated my mother like a queen. It was the first time my mother actually got a pedicure, because she doesn't like her feet to be touched, but I talked her into it. She "LOVED" it, the french pedicure looked amazing; now my mother is hooked, and said she will start getting pedicures for now on. The only thing we did have an issue with is when my daughter was getting her nails (acrylics) put on, the gentlemen who was doing them seemed to make a mess of it. However, my daughter said something to Cindy and she took it upon herself to fix them, corrected the issue, making my daughter happy. Overall, we had a wonderful experience there and I am definitely going back. read more

I guess it depend on who you get. The person who did my basic pedicure did a rush and sloppy job. She did a 'drive-by' buff job on my toes and painted them. As a result it looks lumpy because I have ridges on my big toes and they have to be smoothed out. When I mentioned it to her she said that it would smooth out when the clear top coat is added. Hellurrr the clear top coat is for the shine. The two ladies next to me ( 1 getting a pedi and used to own a nail salon and the other was doing her pedi) recommend that she use a ridge filler and buff it. As a result she removed the polish and took their advice and it looked good. But the mess of the polish on my skin around my toes remains-sloppy. The ANC dip. I could have sworn that I choose a pretty pink but my nails looks like 2 different pinks. Not cool and never again. read more

My gel manicure chipped off, multiple nails, the same day... so I had to peel the nail polish of the rest of my nails which was not difficult as the nail polish was already detaching from my nails. This was the worst nail experience and customer service experience I have ever had in my entire life. Me and my grandmother went to get our nails done for my grandfather's funeral. The staff was very rude. They messed up my grandmother's nails 4 times and they were rude about it even though it was their fault (they messed up the labels on the colors and painted her nails the wrong color). My grandmother was obviously distraught and told them that her husband had just passed, and they still continued to be rude. Went to VIP nails for a pedicure and gel manicure. After I picked out a color for both my nails and toes, another tech (maybe the manager), talked me into the dip powder. The lady who did my pedicure was very good, but then they took me to a male tech for the manicure. He was horrible. He did not clean up my cuticles at all and did not shape my nails properly. The nails are misshapen and they look fake. After a week, one of the nails chipped, but I will not go back even to get it fixed. This place is terrible. Don't waste your money like I did. read more

I really wanted to like my experience at VIP nails, but I need to give an honest review. I was sent there by my nail tech at Innovations who was running behind and only had time for a pedi. I asked if there was a good nail salon nearby since I had an event that evening and she sent me to VIP. It was actually almost empty and I was seated quickly for a gel manicure. When I picked out the color- a fun light summer blue- my tech talked me into doing a powder dip instead of gel. Admittedly there was quite a language barrier, but he managed to convey that the powder was strong and even longer lasting than gel. Also that it would strengthen my nails. The color choices are minimal with the dip but he chose one he said was similar. The process itself is easy and straightforward with multiple dippings into the jar of powder and then drying with a manual fan. Unfortunately the color wasn't even remotely blue, more like a yellowish beige (my daughters told me try to think of it as "seashell"). After I resigned myself to the color, however, the nails started to chip and break within a week! From everything I've read, the dip should last longer than gel. I've been cutting and filing the broken nails, trying to extend the manicure! The one advantage of this system is that the polish doesn't grow out in the same way as a manicure. The color still starts at my cuticle which is great. Conclusion: I would try a powder dip again, but in a different color and at a different salon! read more

I went there for a gel manicure was bounced between two different manicurist and then after I had left and driven half way home noticed two of my nails had big air bubbles in them. Worst pedicure ever!! I was charged 50$ for a regular pedicure and the next day all of my toes were chipping. Not only that they do not keep there tools in the sterilizer, after she scrubbed my feet with the metal tool she whet to the sick and just washed it off. I would have been fine with the charge if she didn't include that I was new but next time she won't charge me. The second time I just wanted my eye brows waxed. I have been a regular client for years. Almost all Vietnamese staff. The owner works alongside everyone else. Friendly. Professional. Courteous. Clean. You see the same team of people working every time. When you get to know them more, they open up more and you find out they are really a community--they socialize together in their spare time, with their kids and husbands.
