I came in and got my nails done Tuesday, I was less than satisfied with the experience and the nail tech. I was charged for a manicure and received no massage or lotion. I got a full set with dip because she insisted it was the strongest. A few days later a nail broke, the receptionist on the phone told me I could come in for a free repair, but when I got there the tech assigned to me said if I couldn't name my previous tech I would have to pay. The second tech was VERY rude. The original tech is now fixing my nail, but it is definitely not a service I want to pay for again as she is also being rude like I wanted to come back for this. Really great salon. There's tons of room and they were great for our large party. We were all in and out and most of us got gel manicures and pedicures for a wedding. I have to say it's one of the longest lasting gel manicures I've ever had- it didn't start to peel even after 2.5 weeks. My pedicure was going strong until this passed weekend- 3-4 weeks after our appointment! They are a little pricier than I'm used to paying, but the quality and the in house wine bar really make it hard to say no! If I'm in the Robinson area, I'll definitely go back! read more

I've been going here for a while but after my third time booking an appointment and waiting over an hour I'm done. I watched numerous "walk-ins" taken back and leave before my appointment was ready. The girl sitting next to me had an appointment at 3:45 and was taken back at 5:15. I ended up walking out. My time is valuable too with three kids and a full time job. Everyone here is very friendly! The service is quick, well done & reasonably priced. I got an acrylic fill (with 2 fixes) from Jenny, and she did a great job! I was in and out within an hour. The lady at the front desk was very sweet. She greeted me right away, sat me down and asked if she could get me anything to drink. They have a cute little coffee/wine bar and I thought that was so nice of her to offer! The only reason this place didn't get 5 stars is because the nail techs had me switching chairs quite a few times. This only became annoying after the 3rd time they asked me to switch chairs. I have tried and tried. Tech to tech to tech. Can't find someone who is consistently good and doesn't make you feel like they're rushing. My first time there, an unruly customer threw a glass and was thrown out. The last time I was there, a woman complained and was thrown out. Now, she was wrong. But the manager/owner (?) does NOT know how to handle the public in situations like this. He loses his cool too easily. And actually told the woman , she's lucky she wasn't a man. As if he'd follow her into the parking lot. I will say this, the techs have been friendly, but speed in getting through clients is the order of the day. I have had ridged nails, peeling gel, rushed pedicures, NO pedicure when I had an appt for one, gel that needed replaced that they didn't have time for. Yes, I've said so. And the tech is super quick to attempt a fix, but it's not fixed. If you're in a pinch, yes, you can pay good money to get your nails done quickly. It's a "fair" experience. One would think a manicure included doing cuticles and something like filing or shaping your nails.... but both of those elements of a traditional manicure are $5 extra - on top of an already inflated price for gel or dip. Also, I just got my nails done here again today after work, because it's just convenient, and my manicure literally looks 2 weeks old... another reminder why I shouldn't go here. If you are looking for a nice experience on a pedicure, this ISN'T it. My daughters pedicure lasted 9 minutes!!! No kidding. Mine wasn't much better... I got a gel pedicure, was charged an extra $20, mine lasted 17 minutes and only one coat of gel. Not real familiar with gel but would think that the gel should at least cover the whole nail... mine doesn't even go all the way to my cuticle! I've been to this nail salon about 10 times in the last year. The service and quality have significantly decreased in the last 3 months. They would never have been a 5 star establishment but I could see them getting a a 4 if I had reviewed before my last two visits. I work in boots 60+ hours a week, have for the last 15 years. So I enjoy a good pedicure, ESPECIALLY the massage portion at the end. And I don't think it's unreasonable that as I don't need polish, that you spend the time you would painting my nails on just a bit more massage... I have never been able to convince them of this logic. Two visits ago I got a manicure/pedicure, I paid for an extra 15 minutes of massage...just for shits and giggles I watched the clock. She finished 15 minutes on the dot from when she started, and the boss lady was talking to her/checking on her. So in my mind they didn't give me my normal 2 minutes + 15; they just gave me the 15. Also, I got an ingrown nail on each big toe... they happen every once in a while because the safety toe boots, but never both feet, you could see she cut the nail at a different angle than I had seen before. Neither were bad and I was able to "fix" them myself. On my last visit I went on Sunday, I understand it's the end of a long and busy weekend but if a tech wants to rush out of there, don't let them take an appointment. This lady cut my nails so fast, she made a mistake on my middle finger and she ripped the incorrectly cut portion out. Resulting in my 1st ever ingrown finger nail. Now my finger is throbbing and I damn near can't put my gloves on at work. My message for the establishment is SLOW DOWN, the male customers are there for a reason. And we tip VERY well. Oh and one more thing, unless you change the features of a basic manicure for men. And spend some time on them , 20$ is highway robbery. I think this last manicure took 15 minutes. read more

I am writing this review for those of you who are concerned about how employers treat employees and how men treat women. Let me begin by saying that I started going to this salon a few years ago after moving to the area. Most of my dip manicures have been awesome and I like the rewards program (points for each service - more points if you pay cash - $10 off). About a week ago I went in without an appointment. As usual I didn't have to wait long. There was some confusion about who would do my nails. Long story short, the owner (mentioned in other reviews - tall blonde white male) ended up speaking to a technician in the most disrespectful way in front of me and a few other customers. He spoke in a degrading tone saying (as also mentioned in previous reviews) "I run the show here." I mentioned something to him on the way out saying "From a customer's perspective, I may never return due to the way you treated your employee right in front of me." He said "I can understand that." That's it. He obviously doesn't mind losing my business, and he has. I will never go back again. read more

I've been taking my wife here for a few years and had always been aware of the reputation of Jay Humphrey and his abusive behavior to the staff and to many customers; however, today was way beyond what I could have ever conceived possible. My wife received a random phone call from Jay that she was "no longer welcome" in the salon and when asked why, she was told to "check online reviews"... (Jay refused to outline what she had "done"). After Jay's mistreatment toward my wife - and calling her a "whore," I drove to salon to speak with Jay about why he had made a decision to discriminate against and mistreat my wife, he opted to stand and scream obscenities at me and my wife. The cops were called and we elected to press charges against Jay. Short version of the story...stay far away from this despicable salon owner and give your money to other businesses. read more

I was overall pleased with my visit to VIP3, I got a regular mani/pedi and let me just say my pedicure is probably the best i've ever had in terms of polish perfection. Amy was a pro at getting my hang nail in my big toes in one motion- no digging into it like other nail techs do. the only thing I wasn't pleased about was the prices. I have no issue paying more for gel or dip or acrylic but I think for a basic mani/pedi $56 is a little insane plus $5 tip for each nail tech I spent $66 for normal polish and no add ons. hopefully they are using the higher price to pay the techs more, since people in this area don't tip well or at all. the place was relatively clean and the staff were kind. though, i don't think i'll be back for a mani/pedi though due to the price. read more

Mimi, the lady who did my nails, had told me they were out of the dipping powder that would have matched my toes, but she had the gel color, which I agreed to. She STILL charged me for dip service and kept telling me that she did "half dip" which she completely changed her story around. My nails only lasted a week and a half before they started chipping. If it was dip powder, it would have lasted at least 3.5 weeks. I've gone here for the last 6 years, and you have completely lost my business. I used to get my nails done here years ago and loved this place. I moved away for two years and recently moved back. I've gone twice since being back. I loved my nails after the first time. The nail tech took his time but didn't take too long like other places. I just went back on Friday to get a fill and a repair on one nail. I was in and out within 30 minutes. That seems cool but my nails are so thick and she didn't polish the whole nail. It wasn't super busy when I was there so I don't know why she rushed so much. I have had a service at this salon 3 times in the past year and every time has been terrible! the pedicures don't last, the up charge for gel is insane (an additional $25), and it's always rushed. The pedicure I got today was supposed to be 35 min and it only lasted 15 (if that). I used to go to this salon every time I needed a pedicure and it was fantastic! The massage chairs were great and I was always offered a drink. Now you can tell that they either overbook themselves or have gotten less quality products. I've been coming to this place for the last 15 months, this place had its cons and pros but it was ok until today, I had an appointment to do my nails with "first available", I checked in and a very nice lady started working on my nails after a few minutes she said that she has an appointment and someone else should take care of me, I was upset and said I should have been told from the beginning , I'm a very calm person and I was talking very politely to the lady with low tone, the receptionist talked to me that's I should be happy that's she started working on my nails instead of keeping me waiting doing nothing and I told him that this was not clear from the start, he got angry and talked to me in the most rude and inappropriate way that this is how things work here and he was almost wanted to kick me out of the store specially when I insisted that I'm not leaving until doing my nails, he told me that's he is the one managing the store for more than a year and this how the business works, I told him I have been coming here for more than a year and this is the first time ever to see him, he kept arguing with me and talking with a high volume voice. I said if you are the one managing this business I sent a complaint 2 months ago on your website for being over charged for toes manicure why you did not reply to me and he said "probably I did not like the way you put it, and by the way your are not the majority here" at this point I was shocked and speechless, why would anyone use the term "majority" to implement the business practices ? I am saddened to leave this review because it was once such a nicely owned place. First of all, I went in for a fill and was badgered a good bit getting gel rather than polish. I knew how big of an upcharge it was, and I just don't mind polish on acrylics, but was still being questioned again and again- as a customer you shouldn't have to feel so pressured. Then, I had fheee nails that "apparently" needed fixed and got charged an extra $9 ($3 per nail). My fill was $29. Which is $2 more than a full set!!! God forbid you want them shaped- it's an extra $5!! While the price tag wasn't worth the decent job, all and all they aren't a terrible end product. I would never recommend this place! It is chaotic from the moment you step in, and it's a rush to get you out. I got my nails done just one week ago to the day, and I already have broken acrylics. I would understand it if I was doing something rigorous, but I was not. The very next day I noticed cracking in the gel polish. They up charge you for every little thing, and you walk out paying top dollar. I got charged an extra 10 dollars for a "design" which consisted of two lines. They also charge extra for every color. If I'm paying 60 dollars plus a tip, I'm expecting top notch service, which I did not receive. For 60+ I'm expecting at least some lotion and a warm towel. DO NOT GO HERE Summary: over priced, dip color isn't what I wanted, charged extra for something I didn't want, had to wait 35 minutes past my appointment time (why have an appt) and most of all only ONE week later I have to go get my nails redone because they're breaking, chipping, ombre coming off. If I could give this nail salon a zero I would. I went here because my normal nail tech, at a different salon, wasn't available. I was able to get an appt same day, after holiday, so I went for it. I immediately regretted it when I had an appointment for 145 and the nail tech didn't take me until 225. Once I finally sat down I showed her what I wanted, style and color. She picked two completely different colors ( I wanted nude and a light mauve- she picked white and bright pink) I went with it because it didn't look awful and I didn't feel like dealing with it. When i left the salon it wasn't the colors I wanted, when she filed my nails she took so much off my nail when I told her u wanted to keep the length, and all of my nails were filled unevenly. Fast forward ONE week-- one nail completely chipped away, 4 nails have polish completely rub off of them. And on top of it all it was 45 for dip and she charged me 15 dollars for ombre that I didn't even want!!!! Will never return!!!! read more

I just left and was so angry I was shaking and I am not one to lose my cool. Let's start from the beginning...my friend and I arrive at 10:45am. The blonde guy at the desk tells us it will be a 20-30 Min Wait My friend and I both have Work around 1:15. That isn't a long wait so we wait. An HOUR AND 20 minutes later I get called back. At this point the only thing I can do is get the polish removed from my toes. Nothing else. They guy doing my nails keeps pressuring me to do more...which I would LOVE TO if I had time. If they would have just been honest about the wait time, I wouldn't have cared. I would go somewhere else or some back later or a different day. So I am sitting in the chair and he changes my paper from pedicure to what I figured was just taking off the polish. "TAKE OFF GEL ON TOES...$5". He marks me down for something different for $10. I ask why he is upcharging me. He goes and asks the front desk guy. He then comes back and says if I would get them redone, it would then be $5. How does that make sense???? That would be a polish change...I fought it and they were very rude. I put my money down and left. I had a similar experience months ago but thought maybe they changed. Don't lie to me about my wait time, try to pressure me into something I don't have time for and then screw me over. Oh and after I left (I left my friend there), they all complained about me. For a beautiful salon with expensive prices I am very disappointed by my experience here. I called and made an appointment, for which I arrived on time. The lady was doing my nails and twenty minutes into my appointment her next appointment arrived (40 minutes early) and this made her very frazzled. She was in the middle of a conversation with me and just stopped and greeted the other customer. She returned and rushed through finishing my nails. I got a pink and white and when she was curing the gel top coat (which they charged me $5 for) she had my right hand in for two minutes and my left hand for half a minute. She took another break to set up her next customer (it was now only 3:45 and her next customer wasn't scheduled until 4). She then rubbed the nails on my left hand as did I and they felt sticky so I placed my left hand under the light again and she was displeased, telling me that it was going to crack and she wouldn't listen when I said it wasn't dry. When I got to the car I realized half of my fingers have random sparkly bits in them. I will be returning for this to be corrected. I was over charged for sub-par, rushed work. read more

I have been going to this salon for a couple years now. I have been extremely loyal and go every two to three weeks. I never make an appointment and have always gotten right in. A few weeks ago, I went in to get a dip manicure, my usual. A group of people came in behind me which frazzled the receptionist. She did not know how to handle it. I signed in, and then sat down like I normally do. About forty minutes went by and everyone that checked in after me, had been taken back. (They were walk ins) I went to the desk and asked if I had even really been check in, she said, where's your name? (It was on the sheet she had flipped over for the others behind me) I sat down and waited again. After all was said and done, my manicure was great but there was no mention or compensation for my time wasted sitting there when I am BEYOND a loyal customer. This left an awful taste in my mouth. Today I go in, as usual, and check in. I can see they're short handed for the volume of customers so I knew there was going to be a wait. As I'm sitting there, the receptionist, has this annoyed, unpleasant tone when speaking with the employees. (This is the second time I've noticed this) "What is going on back there?!" I hear her say to a gentlemen in a nasty tone. My manicure was good other than an appointment showing up and my tech had to go between myself and her appointment to finish the job. It was definitely rushed. I was also charged $3 for ONE "repaired" tip. I have NEVER been charged for that. Ever. As I was leaving I hear the receptionist speaking with a customer about how the techs act "entitled. " This DISGUSTED me. As an Assistant General Manager for a hotel, to hear someone talk down on someone who does a HARD, DETAILED job, I am utterly disappointed. Until you've done a job yourself, you can not act like understand what someone goes through on a daily basis. The receptionist has GOT TO GO. Instead of a discount for the cut, or just the base, I was also charged for nail shape! I hate to complain, because I really like the employees, but they never charge the base price. And $75 for a dip, not even a manicure because they don't do that anymore and a broken and bloody nail is too much. I'm not sure what the base price covers if they charge for everything! I tried to reach out to management and they have yet to call me back, so unfortunately I won't be going back. I've been coming to VIP III for pedicures for over a year now and I SO DESPERATELY want to love this place because I've had some amazing experience. But they are just so hit or miss. Today I came in for my regular deluxe pedicure. I was with a tech I've never had before. While she was drilling off the old gel, she drilled too deep on my one toe nail. When it was in the water it was burning so bad. The pain was awful. I was too shy to say anything, which is a mistake on my part, but when she dried off my nails it was clear it was bright red and down to the underneath. She then proceed to paint right over it. Said nothing. Didn't ask if it hurt. Not a word. She also didn't do a clear coat which I was surprised about? My toe honestly still hurts and I am not sure what it looks like underneath the polish. I am terrified to go back to the same tech. Especially being a diabetic, it is very important I take care of my hands and feet. The ladies had perfect manners.....all of them. Also, I felt welcome. And I have never felt that welcomed at a salon.
