Have been a customer for many years. Probably 10+. Have 3 vehicles to smog every year. Will not return after my last smog experience. My 2019 diesel had a check engine light due to a faulty temperature sensor. He explained I needed to take it to get fixed, then return after driving 50-100 miles for the computer to reset, which I verified with him multiple times. I completed both(actually driving 140+ miles) returned to have it re tested, and he now told me I needed to drive 500 miles, and lied about telling me 50-100. I will never be back, and on the way out the door the owners response was "I've been in business for 30 years, I don't need you". Best of luck with that business model. read more

I love this place! The people working there are super helpful and courteous. They are very fast and, I feel, very reasonable, especially if you use a coupon(I've found them on their website and have been given them after each smog service.). In addition, I really appreciate the free retest if your car fails initially, incredible value. My husband and I will be loyal customers as long as we live here and they are open. On a side note, I came here almost 2 years ago with total pregnancy brain and left my favorite, very expensive, and sentimental water bottle under my seat in the lobby. When he discovered it, the owner(I think) asked everyone else in the lobby if it belonged to them and ultimately tracked me down from my payment records to call me and return it to me. I have no idea how many people he called before finally finding me, but I was so impressed by his kindness and the effort he invested to find me and get it back to me. Avoid this place! The owner is an absolute A hole and an idiot! After 8 years of taking my 2 cars and my wife's car to him, he had the nerve to pull me in to the shop area after 20 minutes this year and then ask me "where the air pump is" on my 2000 Audi S4. Mind you this is the same car he has inspected and passed without that question 4 times over 8 years of going back to him exclusively!! These cars are plug-in tested only and I passed, but when I couldn't show him the location of what is actually called the secondary air pump because I had to look it up online and find it is buried in the engine and not in plain view, he told me he "didnt want to get it wrong" and take my car somewhere else! Of course I became upset saying how are you going to waste my time like this after you've inspected and passed this car over 4x over 8 years of doing business with you with both my cars and my wife's car, the POS began yelling at me and saying I'm wasting his business' time?! My husband took our 4 runner to this place to get a smog check. They said it didn't pass. They said that one if the sensors didn't pass. He took it to our local garage where we get our servicing done and they said the sensor was clear. He took it back and it passed. He then asked the owner if they ever experience having a faulty test, as the sensor was in fact cleared. The owner, instead of answering the question, told him to never come back. I called yesterday to schedule an appointment to get my car smogged after the last location about a block or so away only went by appointments first and I didn't feel like waiting. So, I called VIP Smog and the man told me they just opened for the day and no one was there yet Score I jam there real quick and was greeted immediately. Handed over my paperwork and filled out paperwork while I was doing that my car was being pulled in to get the smog done. Less than 10-15 mins later I pass my smog and I was on my way. The price is great since the last time I got a smog the prices have gone up but for $48 and your in and out that is perfectly fine with me. The next time I need a smog I'm going here this is the fastest I have ever got a smog normally I'm waiting like an hour before my smog is done. VIP Smog is my new favorite smog center in Sacramento County now. It was honestly the quickest and smoothest smog test ever. I was greeted with a warm welcome by the owner, signed the estimate, and he was off to complete the test. The waiting area is a big open space with plenty of seating and a large TV (it was playing music videos when I was there) to keep you entertained while you await your car and completed smog test. I waited about 10 minutes (if that) before I was called to the counter to pay, get a copy of my receipt and car keys. And then I was off to enjoy the rest of my day. Get in and out at VIP Smog.
