I had some problems being over charged with getting my wheels Balanced. Wrote a review and shortly after the District Manager called and took (so he thought) care of it. I went back to VIP in Sanford Maine and again ran into some problems with Rob the counter guy with an attitude, instead of clearing the matter he stuck to his pride and caused more problems. I again wrote a review, not only did the District Manager call me, sincerely apologizing and again corrected the matter. He gave me his cell phone number if any other problem arise. The President and COO of VIP Tim Winkeler called me and again apologized and made sure the matter was taken care of. Mr Winkeler could have had Many people call, but he himself took the time to get involved. If you have a Jeep, do yourself a very big favor and stay the hell away from this place. They have literally zero idea how to work on them. Damaged my aux battery cable when replacing the main, cost me 175 to fix at dealership. Failed inspection on it for tires sticking out too far? What? It's passed every year same tires 33" and stock fenders. I should have known better. Update: 4/13 went to the dealership. Tech came out said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with your tint, your tire tread is low but still well within pass. Your tires stick out maybe 1/4" too far. Buy these fender flares your good to go. ... thought VIP? read more

Went in for an inspection. They said it failed due to a parking brake. The technician told me the brake was locked up, and the truck is too dangerous to let off the lift. They said in order for them to lower my truck I needed to pay for a brake job. (0ver $1000). After threatening to call the police to get my truck back, they lowered it and it came off the lift no issue. There were no brakes locked, like they said, and my brakes worked fine. (My truck is less than 5 years old, and is maintained). I now understand why ALL of the garage bays were empty. I will never go back. Do not recommend. read more

My truck got towed here late on a Saturday. on Sunday the manager John gave me his word that my truck would be fixed. The garage closes at 4pm on Sunday. The parts delivery truck with the parts to fix my truck didn't come until 3:48 and of course didn't have the correct parts. The manager got into his personal vehicle went to another auto parts store got what he needed to fix my truck held his crew over and got the job done. I continue to have unsatisfactory experiences at VIP. They usually involve the need for tires. I purchased 4 tires in June 2023 and picked up a nail. I brought the tire in and they always state it cannot be repaired due to its location. So as always, I bring it to another reputable tire service business, and they remove it and repair it. This has happened on my last three visits to VIP for this similar issue. They always say the tires on the car need to be all replaced even though you can get a car legally inspected anywhere else. They are not being fair with their interpretations, and are taking advantage of their customers. In my opinion, they cannot be trusted. read more

VIP in Sanford, Maine screwed me hard! On October 13th, 2017 I had new tires installed on my car by VIP in Rochester. The following week (October 18th) I went to VIP in Sanford for a new inspection sticker and they told me they couldn't let me leave without replacing my right front ball joint. Apparently the tire technician missed this....There was nothing wrong with my ball joints but I became all to aware of their questionable practices. I told them just friggin' get it done. It took 2.5 hours but they did do it on October 19th.....1.5 years later (March 12th, 2019) that ball joint failed with no notice. It took out my fender, sway bar, cv axle and brake caliper. This could have killed me. I was VERY lucky I wasn't on the turnpike. I had a lifetime warranty on that ball joint from VIP but damn if i was going to let them try to put my life at risk again! I had my local and trustworthy mechanic fix everything on March 13th. Fortunately my insurance will cover most of the body damage but not the $500 plus in mechanical repairs. I will NEVER set foot in a VIP auto shop EVER again!!! I called and spoke with Rob at Sanford VIP today (March 16th) and he could not give me an answer as to what I could do at this point. I figured they might offer me at least some sort of compensation. As I expected he said "well, you should have brought it back to us in order to honor your warranty." I told him flat out that I didn't want VIP anywhere near my car again. He said he would call me right back after he does some research. He has not called yet. I will follow up tomorrow with another phone call. UPDATE: Rob called me back around 7:30 tonight. He wants to meet tomorrow to come to a mutal agreement to make me whole. So today 1/8, I neede d the help again from VIP tires and services. My Jetta needing a bulb replacement in my tail light. Having fibromyalgia, it's difficult to even open a bottle of water. My first mistake was stopping by AutoZone, up the street from VIP. The older gentleman was not interested in helping me and he was concerned about breaking something. BIG MISTAKE STOPPING THERE. So I stopped in to VIP and asked for help if possible for bulb replace. Once again "V" was able to help me with a smile and yes, let me pull your car in to a stall. Everyone is pleasant and courteous. I WILL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR VEHICLE REPAIR..BTW, I'm needing an oil change soon, I'll be calling... HAPPY NEW YEAR, VIP read more

UPDATE: Since this incident I have been contacted by the owner. I was sent a reimbursement and a coupon book for services to use at the company. While the reimbursement was a very small fraction of what I had been charged for the services that I was unaware were happening, I did appreciate the effort to make things right. The coupon book was a nice gesture, but some of the coupons aren't ones that I would need to use. Like the vehicle inspection for instance; VIP offers a free auto inspection every now and then so that's one coupon I wouldn't need. There are a couple other coupons as well that I most likely wouldn't have any use for if I did return. read more

Exceptionally helpful in a time of need, these guys took care of us on a busy Saturday without an appointment. Turned out they didn't have the part we needed till Monday so we chose to get a tow home. They charged us nothing for looking at the vehicle. Thanks so much for your help, guys! read more

I just want to let everyone know the experience that I had with VIP in Sanford Maine. I took my car to them for a state inspection. They failed my car and told me that my brake lines were completely rusted and about to fall off. That it would cost me about $550 to replace them. I then took my car to another mechanic to look at it, were he told me there was nothing wrong with the brake lines. I then took my car to a place that only does state inspections. The car passed with no problems. I asked that mechanic if there was anything wrong with the brake lines....no, mama there is nothing wrong with the car. When I called VIP to speak to the manager, he denied any wrong doing and told me he was going to call the state police and have my car repoed, that the other mechanic put a sticker on a car that was not safe. I feel extremely taken advantage of. I'm a single mother that supports me and son off of my income. It saddens me that somebody would try to take advantage of me like this. read more

Awful experience made an appointment for 11am and my vehicle did not even get into the garage until 1230 they continued to tell me I was the next person. 4 people came in after me and left before me. All I was looking for was my tire plugged. Terrible experience would recommend someone go anywhere but here. read more
