A flashing "check engine" on our decades old Toyota Highlander meant an urgent fix, and longtime locals pointed us to Darren & Cameron's shop. They scoped the cylinder 3 misfire code which committed us hours of labor (Toyota V6 design fault) and, trusting them, did the other two coils too--the kind of "extra" work you only do when you feel comfortable that they fix it right, for the right reasons, at a fair price, so you do the work now (like we should've on another coil 2 years ago). I've been here a handful of times and each time was met with courtesy and professionalism. I just had my alignment serviced today and both Ellen and Cameron were great to work with. I never feel pressured or oversold by their products or services. The only negative thing I can offer is don't schedule an appointment online as it's an inefficient system and, although you get a confirmation of the appointment, it may conflict with an actual available appointment. It seems more of an online "request an appointment at this day and time" rather than a solid appointment commitment. Other than that, great people and great service! read more

I was immediate met with rudeness about how "I must not be a regular," and essentially called a liar because "they would always tell people to make appointments." They told me they couldn't get to me until a few days later, and nobody else in town would be available today. I took my chances, and got right in 10-minutes down the road on a Saturday morning. Mike didn't have an opening in his schedule for me to wait while they did the inspection for a sticker, but he said if I left it they would get it done that day. I usually go to the Sanford VIP, but was finding they were not very honest. Decided to check out this one and was so happy I did. It's closer to my house and they are legit, honest and timely. I highly recommend this VIP. It can get hectic in these VIP stores with people just dropping in and needing immediate service, but I think this location handles those situations very well and better than the other locations. After experiences with Subaru dealership service, I brought my Forester in for oil changes and brake work at the Arundel VIP location. Andrea and other employees are fantastic-professional, knowledgeable, fast and try their best to schedule service as schedule permits. Work on my car was accurate, honest and priced fairly (with the understanding that Subaru parts have an associated cost as does labor and that every mechanic is booked weeks out at this time). The same work at the Subaru dealership was quoted for $300 more with a wait time of three weeks! Andrea scheduled an appointment in three days. Weeks later, I called to have a noise in my engine diagnosed; I dropped my car off at closing and they listened to the engine to hear the noise before I left and immediately knew what it was . The part needed took quite a bit of finessing to acquire (only available through Subaru and the dealership which had in stock wouldn't release) but they did it and I had my car back the next afternoon. I've been bringing my cars into VIP in Arundel for about 8 years now and they've always treated me well. Mike & Andrea at the front desk explain whats involved for costs before they start anything, The guys out back doing the servicing are all qualified and trained and I've never had any problems with them screwing ting up or sloppiness- more often they bring up issues that I've missed or they found during the servicing!
