I bought a battery at the Biddeford Maine Wal Mart about 2 years ago. Last week my car doesn't…read morestart and my mechanic says, battery no good. Ok, so the battery is still under warranty, so I bring it back to the store and see ERIC. Now I've been shopping here for years and I know Eric fairly well. I have had only one other incident with him about a year ago he all but called me a liar when I told him that my car was actually in the shop and they changed my windshield wipers and he had no paperwork or computer knowledge of it. I told him I actually witnessed the car inside the shop and he said ok Norm, it was in there, are you happy now? And he immediately walked off on me. Ok, maybe I can understand it where his mechanics failed to put anything of it in the office. Last week, I tried to return my battery and he comes out and informs me that the "new policy" was that my battery had to be accompanied with a receipt. Now, I know this is out of his hands, but I explain to him that it is near impossible to keep a Wal-Mart receipt that long due to the fact that the receipt is printed with heat and not ink. Therefore, when you store the thing in your glove box and the car reaches over 100 degrees in the summer time, the receipt is now blank. Now once again he all but calls me a liar by saying that he has one over 10 years old and he can read his just fine. Now about 3 or four years ago that same man asked me to write a "great" review on him and how happy I was with his service and I was all but too happy to do just that. But what I have figured out about ERIC, is he is so, so, nice to you when you are passing your money his way and building his fame with Wal-Mart and the public, but when you have a problem he treats you like the TRASH HE THREW OUT YESTERDAY!!! Eric, I wrote some great things about you thinking you were in fact a great manager, but you showed me who you really are and I have decided I no longer like you. Where was your empathy and kind words when I had a problem? I realize store policies are above you but even the store manager tried harder than you to help me by giving me a number to call with my problem. I was there for you when someone wrote some bad things about you and I didn't get paid a dime. You are for yourself and ONLY for yourself and I will NEVER buy so much as a keychain holder from you again. I'm done with your fake smile while I am passing money your way and your cold shoulder and your back as you walk away from me when I need your help. You need to learn that you treat your customers in need and not spending the same way you treat them when they are purchasing. Also, If Wal-Mart wants a three year old receipt, they need to make a receipt that will last that long without having to be stored in GRANDMAS cedar chest and completely out of harms way or get a computer system like auto parts stores EVERYWHERE possess that stores the customer info on warranties. This is a terrible scam. Your battery has your name all over it, a bar code and date. What more do you need? The only thing the battery doesn't have written in BOLD LETTERS, is KEEP YOUR RECEIPT! Batteries are EXPENSIVE! I don't want to think my warranty is no good at Wal-Mart because I simply won't buy it there. Yours Very Truely, Norm Hayward

Byron is the nicest and most trustworthy car mechanic around. I recommend him all the time and…read morewouldn't think of going anywhere else. I had work done on the car this week 4-14-2021 and the work was done within 24 hours and $100 under his quote which was reasonable already. He could've charged the higher quote and I never would have known but he didnt;that's how honest this man is!

A different, trusted mechanic knew that my car needed only a small segment of the exhaust replaced,…read morenot the entire exhaust system. This should take, at most, 2 hours of labor + tubing. As the original mechanic did not have the specific tools needed to do this work, I looked into Byron's Auto as an alternative. I called Byron's Auto and clearly explained the situation, and they assured me that they were capable of doing this type of work. They told me to drop the car off for an 8:30am appointment later in the week. Many hours go by after dropping off the car without even so much as an initial quote. Again, this was surprising because I was NOT a walk-in, and the entire job should have taken less than 2 hours. After contacting them myself to check on the car - not the customer's responsibility - Byron's Auto tried to scam me into replacing the entire exhaust system! After again explaining to them that I knew with certainty that this was not necessary, Byron's Auto finally admits that actually they just do not have the tools to do the minor work needed. And so, rather than tell me that upfront, they were going to charge me to replace an entire exhaust system which was entirely unnecessary. Byron's did ultimately come clean about this deception and recommended a shop that has the specific tool needed to do this minor work. Which makes you wonder - why did they not tell me upfront that they could not do this work when I first made the appointment? Because they were hoping to rip off a young student in the midst of a modern-day plague COVID-19. All of this could have been overlooked, but the final straw was when it came time to pick up my vehicle. I am not accustomed to having my beautiful Lexus mishandled. I found it parked in a literal ditch on the "alley" side of their building a few yards from a busy main road. My Lexus was left with the windows wide open, doors unlocked, and keys in plain sight on the front seat. No respect for the vehicle, owner, or personal property within. I will not return to Byron's Auto under any circumstance and would recommend that you also find a different place to service your vehicle.
