I had low expectations for this airline, but fortunately, the flight was not bad at all. The seats were okay in comfort. It is true that most things are a-la-carte on this airline. However, I appreciate getting a large bottle of water, as opposed to the small cups other airlines give me. The food and snacks were okay in quality, and I appreciate them actually having good on this overnight flight, as other airlines (ahem, American Airlines) do not stock food on their overnight flights. The crowd, for the most part, was not too bad. In fact, only one old salt on my row had some attitude, but that was put down fast. The arrival at Miami airport was on time, and baggage claim took a reasonable amount of time. Looking back, I would not rule out flying on Spirit if I had to. The experience was decent.

In my experience, I have noticed this type of behavior from Caucasian female flight attendants toward Asian male passengers on more than one occasion. I do not usually write reviews, but I felt this deserved attention, as it has become a pattern over the years of flying. It happens consistently, and only with certain flight attendants. This occurred on a flight from Santa Ana to Chicago O'Hare on May 12. Please take this seriously. Passengers of all backgrounds deserve to be treated fairly, equally, and with respect. All important details such as flight timings, fare information, and baggage allowance were clearly mentioned on the website, which made the process hassle-free. The booking confirmation was received instantly, which gave me confidence that everything was properly arranged. Airport Check-in and Ground Staff Support: On the day of departure, I completed online check-in in advance, which saved valuable time at the airport. The baggage drop counter process was organized and quick. The ground staff were courteous, helpful, and professionally handled passenger queries related to baggage policy and boarding procedures. Even during peak travel hours, the airline ensured a smooth check-in and security clearance experience. On-Time Boarding and Cabin Comfort: The boarding process began on schedule with clear announcements. Passengers were boarded systematically, reducing crowding at the gate. Inside the aircraft, the cabin was clean, sanitized, and well-maintained. The economy class seats were comfortable with adequate legroom for a domestic flight. Overhead storage space was sufficient, and the seating layout felt organized. In-Flight Service and Hospitality: The cabin crew demonstrated excellent customer service throughout the flight. They were polite, attentive, and focused on passenger safety and comfort. Safety instructions were clearly communicated, and refreshments were served promptly. While the meal options were standard, the food quality was fresh and satisfactory for short-haul travel. The in-flight experience felt calm, comfortable, and professionally managed.

I've been flying JSX for a number of years, ever since they were a fledgling airline. I've only…read moreflown their Burbank-Las Vegas route, one of their most popular. Burbank was their first LA airport; they now also fly out of LAX, Santa Monica and Orange County. I've seen the brand's fast growth, as witnessed by their ever-increasing number of destinations, subsequent increased crowding at their airport hangars, and ever-increasing costs for flights, valet parking and rental cars (JSX works exclusively with Go Rentals). JSX's main advantage over traditional commercial airlines is their more comfortable overall experience. Touted as a semi-private airline, they fly out of private hangars, thus avoiding TSA. You are only asked to arrive 20-30 minutes prior to your departure. There is no online check-in available or needed, it's a simple and fairly quick process. Since the planes have no overhead bins, all bags are checked except what can fit under your seat. The waiting areas in the hangars are lounge-like, with complimentary snacks, a hot beverage machine and a flavoured-water machine. The airplanes are all small Embraer ERJ 135's or 145's with an average capacity of 30 passengers. There is one flight attendant. Beverages (including alcohol) and a snack tray are complimentary. Wi-Fi is free (Starlink) . There is one restroom at the rear; I've always found the water pressure in the sink to be very low. I've mostly flown the Embraer ERJ 135, 10 rows with a 1-2 seat configuration. Twice I've flown the 145, 16 rows with a 1-1 configuration, but these seem to not be used so much on the BUR-LAS route. I've seen the Burbank hangar go through a few modifications over the years, all for the better. The restrooms were quite pathetic in the past. The waiting area has 2 sections, one more enclosed and quiet--this area has been improved. The boarding area now has more security measures like a conveyor belt for screening your carryon. With the airline's growth, there have been some negatives. Flights have increased more than $100 each way to/from Vegas. The cost for choosing your seat also increased. Parking was always valet-only, the cost is now prohibitive. It's more economical to rideshare here, as do most folks, causing a traffic backup in their drop-off area. With more frequent flights arriving and departing, and with more destinations, the lounge can get crowded. Plus in Burbank, luggage from arriving flights is brought directly into the hangar (vs. in Vegas where passengers collect their luggage plane-side). I've only had a flight delay once. With about 6 flights/day or more to Vegas, a flight cancellation is not as horrific an issue as it would be to a destination with less flights per day. Despite their growing pains and increasing costs, I'm still a fan of JSX.

My plane left Los Angeles International (LAX) exactly as scheduled, flight preparations were organized and folks got in line according to their assigned zones. Many of our senior citizens in wheelchairs were allowed first and there were a lot of staff who facilitated the departure protocols. The flight was very smooth with some bumpy ride along the mid-flight but seems comparably similar with any other flights I've taken everywhere. The stewards and stewardesses seemed not so sweet and focused, not the usual, can we offer you something"? I'd say, it's probably cultural although this are just observations on my part, since this time, I bought an economy class ticket during the last minute. Eva Air has the best food compared to other airlines that fly the SEA route, chicken pasta, Chinese-style cooking and a comprehensive fruits and sandwich galore accompanied our meals. The timeline for serving food and snacks was perfect, not so late nor early, just about right. They also seem to recognize our need to sleep and allowed quiet and dark during our flight and bathrooms were also clean and fully packed with everything we needed. One observation is the wide seats and better spacing of their plane compared to other Asian airlines, who pack their seats and seem very tight and skimpy. The stay over transition was alright although they (Eva Airlines transition staff) keep asking for printed tickets in Taiwan when some of us had difficulty activating our phones to show them our online boarding tickets. Since passengers aren't able to access anywhere, they should have a better way of not trying make us feel, we have to painstakingly look for a WiFi access (was too weak for an international airport and inconvenient to those travelers just passing by) to be able to show them our boarding tickets again!
