It was a little crowded since it seems like it's the only place open and it's so close. The pizza was ready quickly. Ordered drinks as well and to total came up to around 45 dollars. So it's on the higher price point. Pizza was average thin crust. It was a little doughy and not crispy crust like I prefer. The sauce was heavy on the garlic. Not too bad over all. Listen, you're limited with your options up here in the resort, so this place is... just what it is. They were out of French fries, and coleslaw, a few of their only veggie friendly side options. They also do not have an allergy-friendly menu in any way shape or form. It's a quick-service location, so the seating is basic (although the outdoor area would be cute not in the dead heat of summer). We had the pizza and it was pretty good. This trip we had BBQ and it was good but we got the incorrect amount- I think they thought we got sandwiches not platters- pictured is supposed to be a 1/2pound, so some mistakes were made. They do offer some local beer and wine which is great. It doesn't seem like the highest quality food but pretty passable for being one of the few options here "on campus." read more

This is the only resort "restaurant" open on Monday, so had no choice. Ordering is done on a kiosk, so no half/half pizza, like we wanted. It is very pricy, as is everything here. Once you type in your order, print a receipt and take it to the register on the other end of the room. The cashied was not too friendly. $16 for a 12" meat pizza, $4 fountain drink (only pepsi products, $6 for can beer). The pizza came out fairly quickly. Surprisingly covered well with cheese & toppings. The crust could have been crispier, but was edible. Overall, an ok "choice." Seating is picnic tables. They have country "music" blaring. read more

I was disappointed they don't have ribs anymore but my son wanted pizza so why not! I went to the front to order and Missy was amazing. She was patient, kind and helpful. She answered any question I had with a smile. We ordered pizza and then went to the arcade while we waited when I came back I remembered that I could use my gold card and she was amazing and fixed the difference in price for me with no hesitation! They kept rolling their eyes at us They're talking about us right in front of our faces and they were being so rude and then they didn't give us food until like 50 mins they were on their phones cleaning up the place and putting the trash on our food they were really changing out of the uniforms the food also was horrible. After being mentally attacked by the timeshare sales, my bf and I decided to just go next door to Virginia BBQ & Pizza place to have our lunch. The place was clean and neat, and the staff was friendly. The price was expected to be overpriced since we're in a mountain resort, but the food is quite decent. My bf got the Pulled Pork/house sauce platter with Mash Potato & Mac & Cheese, and I had the Brisket/apple bbq sauce platter with Potato salad & baked beans. He got a bottled water and I got a can of Arnold Palma, which came up to about $50. My bf said the pulled pork and mashed potato were basic but he really liked the mac & cheese. The brisket I had is in between moist and lean so it'sreally balanced, and I liked the slightly smoky flavor with the side being charred. The potato salad has a unique flavor in it and I can't figure out what herbs it was, but I enjoyed it(just a warning it's not the traditional potato salad you've had). The baked beans was slightly tangy enough and it has little chunks of something(raddish?) in it, which I also enjoy. Bf and I both liked his house sauce more than my apple bbq sauce. The house sauce is smoky and not too sour(vinegar-ish). Overall the price is high but if you're staying in a mountain resort and don't wanna drive down to the JMU area to get cheaper food(especially when it snows), this is not a bad option, and the quality of food will suprise you! read more

Good. Lord. Food- decent. Meat is definitely smoked on site, which is a huge plus. Seasoning is incredibly lacking. Service- they try. And I mean that. But like everything at Massanutten, there's just not a good recipe or drive to really succeed. This was by far the WORST bbq I've had from a restaurant. The chicken looked and tasted like it was cooked in the dirtiest smoke possible and oddly enough everything else we got (brisket, ribs, pork, mac&cheese) all had ZERO flavor. Someone should introduce the chef to this thing called seasoning. I guess when you have a slightly captive clientele you can serve bad food at a high price. Omggggggg that brisket! We were among the first to be served for the day. All of us ordered a brisket sandwich with a side of collard greens. The food came out super fast and super hot. The sandwich components were wrapped separately to avoid soggy bread... a small detail that I appreciated. The food was perfectly cooked. The brisket was smoky, juicy, and tender. I took a test bite and almost forgot to put my sandwich together! The greens were well seasoned with a little of the barbecued meat boiled in with them for flavor. We are a fun group but no-one spoke once we started to eat! The servers were hospitable and chatted during our brief wait. I bought 2 pounds of the meat and 4 buns to take home. Yum! read more

Well I gave it a couple of years and tried again... still a super long wait on a Thursday at 2:30pm. There was hardly anyone there. Way overpriced- the platter in the picture was $14! There was a lot of meat but it hardly had any flavor. The best part of the meal was the cornbread... delicious! I think all platters should come with a small portion of coleslaw. My friends and I were staying at the Resort and happened to go here for dinner. We weren't expecting much from reading the reviews but we were pleasantly surprised! We ordered the brisket cheesesteak and brisket sandwich. The sandwich came with a side of your choice and the chew steak came with a bag of chips. Both were delicious! The meat was tender and flavorful! We were starving from hiking so that could've added to how good the food was too. The prices were a little on the expensive side but not surprising for a restaurant on resort grounds. The food came out fast and hot. Note that we came off season during COVID and there was only one other occupied table in the establishment. The manager who took our order was extremely polite and friendly. All staff were wearing masks properly and gloves. There was plexiglass separating the workers from customers when ordering. The tables are decently spaced out (there's about 4 in the establishment). All in all, I would recommend coming here if you're staying on resort grounds and didn't want to travel far for food. read more

Back in 2019, I ate at the restaurant and wasn't happy at all. We came back this week to Massanutten and said "lets give them a second chance" but nothing changed. I'm a foodie and will pay any price for good food but $95 is overpriced for this trash. I ordered a meal for my family with combination of smoked chicken and brisket. The "smoked chicken" and "brisket" was way overcooked, extremely dry, just terrible and rubbery. The greens and potato salad were bland, the coleslaw looked liked and tasted like baby food. The mac-n-cheese had ZERO taste, not even bland, and no cheese - just terrible. The BBQ sauce is good but with such a small amount provided enough to for the "ant man chicken wing" and charging $0.50 for each extra container (nickel and diming). They didn't honor a 10% discount (Gold Card) on the Massanutten website and got snappy about me asking. We will NOT eat there ever again. The atmosphere is nicely laid out and decorated, BBQ sauce was good, but the food and customer service was TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE. read more

Came down the mountain for some BBQ, because it smelled so good when we checked in. We both got brisket platters with two sides. The meat was smoked deliciously, moist and yummy. We had two different sauces that were some of the best I have had, very complex flavors. I had broccoli slaw, fresh but a bit salty for my taste and cucumber & tomato salad, which was also light and fresh. My wife had Mac and cheese, it was Southern style, not her favorite, but she said it was very good for the style. We both have enough brisket and sauce for a second meal.
