A friend and I stopped here for a drink on our way back from visiting Luray Caverns. It's located in what looks like an old train station on the tracks. There is outdoor seating and a food truck that offers pizza, but we decided to sit inside in the air conditioning. They had a wide array of beverages to choose from. I got a flight of four beers: Blonde Bear, Tripel Trek, Odell's Tiger and Red Brush. My friend opted for a glass of Odell's Tiger. This one was definitely a winner for both of us. As it was a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't too crowded, but it was a nice place to hang out and enjoy some beer. Stop by if you're in the area. read more

Cute little spot located near the swift falls entrance of Shenandoah National Park. Brewery offers a large selection of beer choices. I had a Strawberry Vanilla IPA and it was tasty! Exactly what we needed for the evening. We'd hiked all day and were hot and tired. Saw the great recommendations on Yelp. It has good outdoor seating - the inside isn't small but can get crowded easily bc of the stage - a permanent fixture pizza food truck - and good beer on tap. What more could you need? Incredibly impressed by this small brewery. We came by in a weekday afternoon and while the place was not packed, I was surprised to still see some people on a Monday! The gentleman behind the bar absolutely knew what he was talking about and gave us some great suggestions, the three beers I tasted were incredible. I tried three different fall styled beers and they all had a really nice flavor without tasting too sweet or like fake additives. Wow! People love this little town brewery, and I see why. There are at least twelve different beers as well as meads, ciders and wine. All of the beers we tried were delicious, but I really like the earl grey & lemongrass French saison (Cycling Frogs) and nitro Irish dry stout (Shenandark). My husband really liked all of their IPAs. My friends and I were visiting the national park and saw this place online. We went out for a drink and some chill conversation. Great service, the staff were so friendly. Drinks were tasty! I'm a fan of sours and they more than delivered on those! My friend got a cider and then other friend got a flight of beers, so there's plenty of variety. For those who aren't beer/ale/IPA/sour fans you might be hard pressed to find a drink you like. However, the vibes are great! I first stumbled across Elkton Brewing Co. back during the early days of the COVID-19 Pandemic. I was out for a day-long country drive and passed through Elkton, VA. I saw the brewery and made a mental note of it to return to Elkton, VA at some point to visit the brewery. Last week I stopped in for a visit on an early Friday afternoon. It was a cool, cloudy, overcast day - perfect for a drive and an ale tasting. I ordered five of their ales in a tasting flight - four IPAs and one Lager. I believe the tasters are 5 oz. pours. Each flight comes on a "paddle" with room for four tasters. Everything was decent - kind of middle of the road for me - one of the IPAs had a weird sweetness to it. Inside, the tasting room has a cool, chill, relaxing vibe to it. There is also outdoor seating - a few folks were outside enjoying their brews - hanging out with their dogs. Service was good. Beers are great and some very unique stuff. Like the Bars No Stars British IPA uses a peat moss smoke malt. So think if Talisker single malt were a beer. Extra points for these guys doing the The Nutt, an amazing brown ale. No one seems to do brown ales anymore, but they should. read more

Came in on a Saturday night with a group of girlfriends in town for a birthday weekend. The place was hopping inside, couldn't find a space big enough for us which was a bummer because we would have loved to enjoy the live music. The band sounded good! We were happy to take up some spaces outside and once another space opened up we could set around a bonfire which kept us warm. A few of us got pizzas from their food stand outside. They looked pretty good and everyone seemed to enjoy. There were vegetarian options but no non-dairy options. The beers are pretty fair in price and lots of different ones to choose. The Blond Bear is awesome choice for anyone who is more into a lighter lager like a Bud or Yeungling. More flavorful but not heavy at all. This brewery has a warm hometown feel with a true Americana backstory of local brothers who grew up here. Big bro is master brewer, another brother does the marketing and another also brews. They are a great team, very personable & knowledgeable. They just opened the brewery in February 2020. Lots of options for your consumption. A try is like a shot glass of beer is free. Flights are 4 glasses of 4 ounces each. More than enough to get a good try. Pints are cheap ranging $4-$6 range. I left happy, with a couple of 25 ounces can growlers of the 2 I enjoyed most for their uniqueness: boysenberry sour (very smooth) and the New England Merky Water Double IPA They also have a Bella Luna food truck, which makes awesome wood fired pizza. I had just went to the Harrisonburg location for dinner with my family. Yeah, it's really good pizza! We've vacationed in area 4x and I'm sure will be back again someday. When we do, I will be back. Like wineries in Virginia, it's rare to find a brewery that isn't above average to excellent. Elkton is a great spot, right next to the RR tracks in downtown Elkton (a charming little town about 30 minutes from Luray or Harrisonburg). I believe the brewery is located in the old train depot. Very interesting and some funny photos throughout the place, including the bathroom. The beers are stellar, something for most palates. I had never had an Italian Pilsner from a craft brewery before and let's just say that beer blew the lid off Peroni. The folks working behind the counter are friendly too and amusing. I am not sure why I'm not giving it five stars....there is some room for improvement, I think...having a Russian food truck in this day and age seems odd. read more

Love this brewing company! Le hubby and I stopped by with our puppy on a crisp Fall afternoon. There were plenty of outdoor seating and dog-friendly, which is a big plus. We got a flight of various samplings, and enjoyed each of them. They do a great job with delivering a great nose with each beer - especially the jalapeno one! You can't miss it. This place was great. They had a bayou food truck and live music. I got fried pickles. The music was so great. Two young guys whose name might be Dirty Whiskers. They were great. The crowd was great. Just local people having a great time and I ordered the Strawberry Fields. It was an IPA but it was so good. You could taste the strawberry and vanilla. I'm a huge brewery gal, and this brewery stacks up! First off, right next to a train and well labeled: they have a huge sign! It's really cute and they have a huge outdoor area, near some train tracks. There is a shaded pavilion, picnic tables, and a porch with rocking chairs. Had no problem finding a parking spot on a weekend afternoon and it was such a wonderful place to stop. There's no food here but they're chill with you bringing food to the place. It's so laid back here. Even though the outside is really nice, the inside is questionably nicer. The bathrooms are clean and everything is nicely decorated. The bartender working was so friendly and knowledgeable about the beers, easily made recommendations. Had a flight of 4 and each beer delivered in terms of quality and flavor. They also have T-shirts, glassware, and stickers for sale. I would highly recommend stopping by here for a drink - reasonably priced, tons of options. Wow what a hidden gem! Myself and my sister/her husband came here while visiting Shenandoah on a weekday evening. The brewery is located in a small downtown area right beside the train tracks which was unique. When you walk in the place feels very homey but also has a neat upscale rustic vibe. For seating there are long wooden tables and high top chairs plus a few larger tables closer to the bar. The inside felt very spacious and open, with plenty of space for everyone. When we visited there was a lady playing the piano which was wonderful. There was also a small stage that I imagine is used for live music on certain nights. When ordering beers the staff were super helpful and took time to explain the different flavors in each beer. They let us sample them to help with the decision making process before I settled on merkey water IPA. This double IPA packed a punch with lots of hoppy flavor yet enough citrus to balance it out. I truly loved it. I also ordered the Wapiti Mimi New Zealand IPA. This IPA was very fruity compared to most IPAs, making it very unique and delicious. Overall I really enjoyed the beer and hanging out in a great atmosphere. read more

My trip to this brewery was truly special. From the moment you walk in you feel like you are in a home not a public brewery. The interior is decorated and has a fancy but comfortable feel to it. There is a seating area when you first walk in with several comfy chairs and then a larger seating area near the bar with high top tables. A major factor to the ambience was the live music that they were hosting. There was a lady playing the piano and it was wonderful to listen to while drinking my beers. For beers I ordered their New Zealand IPA and their Murkey Water IPA. Both were very juicy and packed a ton of flavor. I was extremely impressed by the New Zealand IPA because of how the ingredients were sourced from New Zealand giving it unique fruit flavors that I have never tasted. The staff was awesome and helped explained the beers to me and offered samples to make sure I ordered the best beers for my liking. The outside area is nice up on the porch but they also have a few tables in the parking lot area. When we went, there was live music and the singer was awesome! We did a few flights to try most of the beers and not all of them were my favorite but they did have a good blood orange beer and a tropical sour that grew on me. Got to visit for the first time on our way into Harrisonburg. We ordered a flight to sample some of their beer while our crowler was filled. The crowler was part of a birthday gift for someone who has been wanting to try the beer, but hasn't made it there yet. What we tried was fine, just haven't found a favorite yet.
