We worked with Nilay in this process and it couldn't have been smoother. I contacted VM&A in late summer after our realtor recommended them for just countertops. I sent her the measurements and she gave me a quote. We went out at the start of Sept on a Saturday to look at their slabs of granite and very quickly chose one. Nilay never tried to upsell at all but answered all my questions about finishes. (We went with a leathered texture and love it!) Once we picked our slab, Nilay scheduled the measurement guy who came the following Monday. The installers came the following week and it was in beautifully. It's perfectly level and the seam is smooth and unobtrusive. We are very happy with it! (Especially now that I'm finished with tiling.) You may find a better price elsewhere, thought I think VM&G is competitive, but I really appreciated their responsiveness, quick turnaround, quality of work, and willingness to work with my very specific needs (save cabinets, close gaps, no granite backsplash, etc.). read more

The salesperson didn't clarify the order with us and we would up with a bathroom countertop that did not look like we expected at all. Apparently we were looking at the wrong sides in their showroom. The work itself was fine but not what we wanted at all. Recommend going elsewhere that is more customer focused. read more

I recently purchased a new townhome through K Hovnanian. After my dry wall walk through I was advised to go here. When I arrived they didn't know anything about me. They didn't have my address or my order. The sales guy, Travis was nice enough but I had to wait about 15 minutes before he could get a hold of someone at KHOV that could confirm my granite countertop order. After waiting for awhile he finally got a call back and then walked me out to the warehouse and showed me the Steel Grey granite. He explained how they get notified by the builder of when to come out to create the template. Once that's done they take about a week to cut, fabricate and install. They did not have the quartz that I wanted in stock anymore (because of their excellent deals) but he worked with me to figure out something else. What we ended up with is more beautiful than what we went in for. Rodney came to our house to do measurements. He was respectful of the COVID situation and was very kind and professional. He answered the few questions I had and was in and out in minutes. Scheduling the estimate was simple and they were out to my house within days of me calling. All employees were wearing a mask and the location was clean besides the obvious dust that you would find in a warehouse that cuts stone. 5/5 experience and we will be using them in the future. I took advantage of a special they were running on certain slabs of granite. No one contacted me after measurements were taken for the job (as was promised). I allowed them plenty of time to do so, but had to contact them nearly 3 weeks later to schedule the installation. The installers were too much in a hurry to get to their next job. They left my old kitchen sink laying in my front yard and never supplied my cutting board, which was part of the deal. The main office promised that someone would return to my residence to remove the old kitchen sink and supply my cutting board on a certain day. No one showed up. The job itself looks very nice. However, the service is not complete and I have to contact the office yet again to finish the job (haul away sink and supply the rest of the product). read more

I had my quartzite and marble installed yesterday by Virginia Marble and Granite. It is a top notch company indeed! They provide very good product and service with good price (I went to 4 other slab warehouses as well, none of them were willing to give me a price quote and required me to ask my contractor to get the price and install the stone). As natural quartzites are not very commonly used, I did some research on them. It is said that the quality of them vary a lot (some stores even mix them with marble!), some are very easily stained and eched, they generously gave me free samples prior to my purchase. Later I put oil, vinegar, soy sauce, lemon juice and even a very hot pan on it, it did not stain nor etch at all! Plus, people there are very nice and reliable. Their installation is impeccable! I can tell they are very detail oriented. During the installation they spent a long time to make sure the stones joint seamlessly. After the installation, they even taped all the joints for me (I didn't even know what this is for) to prevent them from dusts as they know my house is under remodeling now. To my even more pleasant surprise, before they left, they told me the stones are warranted as long as I own the house, they would come and fix them for free whenever there are scrathes, stains, etchings (they said the stones would definitely not etch as long as we seal them once a year)...All in all, much appreciated, highly recommended! read more

I've had a very disappointing experience with communication and service, similar to Ayana P.'s earlier review. We came here primarily because of a good overall Yelp rating, looking for a custom countertop for a bath vanity. We had a good experience on our initial showroom visit with a rep named Gizem, and we picked out a granite remnant slab to use for our piece. But since then the service has been terrible. I have emailed and called the sales rep several times over the course of three weeks and received absolutely no response to my attempts to finalize this order. I called the office yesterday and asked to have a manager call me and that message was not returned either. I've never seen a business make it so hard for me to give them my money. read more

I didn't have any work done by Virginia Marble and Granite but I really wanted to after reading these great Yelp reviews and seeing the nice pictures on Houzz.com. We just bought a 2 bed/2 bath condo in Arlington and decided that we wanted to remodel our bathroom and change some things in our kitchen. I called them on Monday and on Tuesday Anna from VA Marble and Granite came out to take measurements. Because of the holiday, she said that our estimate wouldn't be ready until early the following week. The following week rolls around. We emailed a few times about countertops and cabinets on Tuesday. I also asked when I should expect the estimate. She said tomorrow. Tomorrow rolled around and still no estimate (I waited until 5 PM). I called the man and asked him if we could go with the other guy who had come out the same day as Anna but provided the estimate a lot faster (maybe an indication of what to expect). He agreed. I'm still not sure why I never received the estimate but I was definitely disappointed. When she came out, she was nice and provided good info and advice. She also came out the day after I called which was great. I'm sure they do great work but I didn't want to keep waiting to find out. read more

I bought a large, 5-bedroom home in Alexandria which required a complete paint job and new floors throughout. To match the renovations, my wife and I decided to replace the old kitchen counter - about 77 sq ft of counter space. We flew in from California and headed first to Virginia Marble and Granite. We were so pleased with the customer service, selection, and the estimate they gave us that we hired them on the spot. They took a deposit and kept in contact with us after we flew back across country. They took the measurements within a couple of days and had a firm quote for us. We really appreciated when the scheduled they delivered and installed the granite counter between the painters' work and the floor guys. They worked unsupervised - we hadn't moved to Virginia yet. We had left a new faucet and in sink disposal on the old counter and they installed those to. When we arrived last week, we couldn't have been more impressed with the final product. everything from the install, the backsplash, and the plumbing was top-notch. Highly recommended! read more

At first we had called a local company called Better Granite off Wellington road (along with many others) and the vibe was the same. They claimed to offer the best price with the best service, but after looking around, it didn't take long to see the difference VMAG offered. I was greeted with friendly service from the beginning by Chris and he was able to take care of almost everything over the phone. I made my way over to the store to handpick the granite (of which there were seemingly a thousand options). The process was easy and quick and the paperwork a breeze. The same granite we chose (Colonial White), was quoted at near $70-80 per sq ft at a previous establishment and we were able to secure it for much less than $50 per sq ft. The installation was quick because of the depth of resources available, so we did not have to wait long to see our new granite. Though we chose to do our own plumbing, even those costs were much more reasonable than other quote we received. I am very happy with Virginia Marble and Granite and would definitely recommend them to others. The boyfriend and I were looking to update our old kitchen laminate countertops with granite. We have a small galley-way kitchen with only about 24 square feet (No additional backsplash). We visited about 5 other granite warehouses within the area to shop around for the best price and service. However, we encountered that most places either did not want to take on our small project because they require a minimum square footage per project or realized that no free kitchen sink would be included with the installation because we did not meet the minimum square footage requirement again. After searching on Yelp, I found Virginia Marble and Granite. It is a little hard to find since it is kind of hidden within a bunch of other industrial businesses in the area. We stopped by on Saturday morning and was quickly helped. We already knew which granite we wanted, but still walked around their warehouse to look at their options. They have a large selection of granites of all types and price points. We got an estimate quickly drawn up and the sales people (Matt) were very helpful in explaining their process. Not only were we impressed with their price, but the overall service and friendliness as well and a free sink was included in our price too. The next step was to have them come out to take exact measurements of our kitchen, which was very easy to set up. They came by on time and took precise measurements. With a busy holiday schedule, we had to wait an additional week to get the installation scheduled, but that was fine. The installation went very quickly and smoothly. It took about an 1.5 hours for the granite to be placed in and another hour for the plumber to hook up our water and sink again. Overall, I am very impressed with Virginia Marble and Granite. Same counter/ stone selections as everyone else. Descent pricing. No good choices for sinks at all. This means you have to pay them for the garbage they have in the showroom or go find a sink you want and delay the install. I upgraded the basic stainless steel to a larger more modern version they had at the showroom. It scratched on day one. Waste of money and poor quality. I informed the sales woman when she asked how the install went and how the counters looked. I never called her to complain about the flimsy poor quality of the sink. She asked. So I responded. I told her so they would stop selling this product to unsuspecting customers. Her response was to accuse me of being too rough on a kitchen sink. It scratched day one. We put dishes and silverware in the kitchen sink...... isn't that what it's for?!?! This review is the only way to warn their buyers. Bring your own sink! read more

From the minute I walked in and spoke with Chris I knew I was at the right place. I told him the measurements of granite I was looking for, he showed me around the lot to pick out what he thought would go with my unique colored cabinets. I picked a nice color to match the tile floor and cabinets. He priced it out asked how I wanted the edges cut and let me pick the style of sink that is included with the price of the package deal that I ordered. He was very helpful answering all my questions and very professional. I did not feel any pressure of them sending me from person to person trying to sell me more than what I needed. Plus they didn't insult my intelligence by telling me "Oh you are very lucky today we have special on this piece. " So if you are looking for professionalism, great looking countertops installed correctly without any hassles than Virginia Marble and Granite is the place to go. It's on the backside of an industrial park area byt, really nit to hard to find. It's off of Aviation. There are many granite countertop places in the area. I went to a lot of them. Save your time driving around just start here. I had my install today for a granite counter top. Two guys showed up 15 minutes early. I deal with contractors daily and that's unheard of. They were both very polite, professional and got the job done in 2 hrs and 45 minutes. They only talked to each other when they needed to communicate about the countertops. We were here after visiting another granite yard (recommended by our contractor) that just didn't have anything we particularly liked. Someone else recommended this place to us, and we showed up on a Saturday without an appointment. Matt was super welcoming and very friendly. He did a fantastic job explaining the process and the costs, and we felt very confident he would see the job through to the end. An extensive collection of options in a well organized space. We came back once to map out where on the slabs our pieces would come from, and Matt not only remembered us, but went out of his way to help us make the most of the slabs we chose. We were in frequent communications with him over the next two weeks, and he was extremely responsive! The measuring guys showed up when they said they would and we appreciated their punctuality. We just had our granite installed today, and Matt checked in with us to make sure everything went well. It is absolutely gorgeous, and perfect. Our contractor was a little weary, since he had never worked with Virginia Marble and Granite, especially because we have a tricky stove that required very precise measurements, but they did a fantastic job, and the price was right on (our modest) budget. This place doesn't even deserve a star based on how they treat customers. We visited their place five times and talked to different representatives each time. They didn't listen intently to specifics of the job requirements as when we signed a contract they later called back and said the job can not be performed then later called back and said they can do it for more money ... significantly more. They do not communicate well. We spoke with the manager to resolve the issue and he was not interested in having the conversation nor was he was concerned that the Information we received from his employees were contrary to the rational to the dramatic increase in costs. The managers explanation did not hold weight. The only positive aspect to the experience is we did receive a refund. What a waste of time ! read more

The individuals doing the work are at best handyman. They utilized handyman to get the work done. Save the money they will charge you and get the same work done by day laborers from the Home Depot parking lot. They scratched the wall mounted stainless steel range hood (also didn't leave enough space for the range hood to fit in the 30 in space, water squirts out every time I press the newly installed garbage disposal button (things that make you say Mmmmm). Virginia Remodeling designed our new kitchen. They were experienced and wonderful to work with! The project took a total of 5 weeks from demolition to finish. The crew members were very skilled and courteous . They worked as teams and were a pleasure to have in our home. There have been a couple of minor problems that have come up and they have come out right away to remedy the problems. Even a couple of years after our construction. They took the time to understand my needs and did a full estimate knowing that It may not be practical to get my granite from them due to some special circumstances. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! They don't even deserve 1 Star! Customer Service is Non-Existent!! I was appalled by the way I was treated and spoken to. It has been over 5 months dealing with them and I still do not have a finished kitchen. I should have known it was bad from the start when Anna (the would-be designer) never showed up to an appointment we confirmed at their showroom. After banging on the door of a dark showroom, the owner came out and called her. Finally, after 30 minutes of waiting, she showed up, no apology, stating that we never confirmed. I went home and forwarded her the e-mail that did state we confirmed the appointment and of course, no answer or apology. I should have known that it was only going downhill from there. I ordered cabinets through them since I found the granite that I wanted to use in their warehouse. I originally paid just for the cabinets and they were at the time more than willing to hold the granite, which they did not even ask for a deposit (I would have put a deposit down) based on the original quoted price. Long story short, cabinets were messed up and after shelling out thousands of dollars, I wanted to have some of the faces replaced. After months went by of getting items re-ordered and ordered (because Anna didn't order them in the first place) I had my install. During that time I was still fighting with them because they claimed they would have their install guys do the touchups. Well measurements were off on the cabinetry and some of the base cabinets needed to be reordered because the measurements were off. (During this whole time I am having to follow up with VMG making sure they order the correct cabinets/parts and have a guy come back out to install) I have had to fight tooth and nail to have my kitchen cabinets installed and touched up (faces were all scratched, corners were not finished, etc) And, just an fyi, my island is not centered and no one will come back and fix it, of course! So, just as I am ready to have the granite installed, I am told they don't want to do it because there have been too many problems with the kitchen. Yes, there have been because VMG does not know how to handle business correctly! Thankfully, another fabricator was willing to take VMG's mess and install my granite without any problem. However, getting the granite from VMG was torturous. How many times did I hear I would get a receipt e-mailed to me after paying for granite, and it never happened! I literally had to waste more of my time and walk in their office and demand a receipt. The so called accountant, who barely knows how to speak English and is incredibly rude, has the nerve to tell me it was e-mailed and then states that she will just print me out a receipt, when she never e-mailed me! This was only a small look into what has happened dealing with VMG, I could literally write a book on how much they screwed me over. I should be happy about getting a new kitchen, but instead I have become exhausted, dealing with horrible people that do not do anything that they say they will do! We had our kitchen completely remodeled 5 years ago by Virginia Marble & Granite. The granite is 5 stars and this company should only be used for granite. The cabinets are subpar. They were installed with the incorrect screws that were too short. I've had to replace all the screws so the doors would stop coming loose. Two of the pull out drawers are installed crooked and after several attempts to fix them, we just accepted it. The floors...please run far away from them on installing tike floors. They are installed completely wrong. The grout is cracking, fillies are loose and coking out and the entire kitchen floor is installed incorrectly per several local floor installers. You can feel the uneven tiles while walking on the floor and hear it cracking. You may ask...why after 5 years am I writing a review, because we are having to spend a lot of money to now fix the floors....only 5 years after the install. No way would I ever use them again. Maybe the salesperson and installers are no longer there...but I wouldn't take a chance. read more

As a homeowner, I have worked with Virginia Marble and Granite two times for three projects. I have had an excellent experience each time. Everything from the price, to the friendly service and attention at the warehouse, to the installation has been top-notch professional. They were fast and efficient. I live fairly far out in the country, and was impressed that they don't blink about coming out for my projects. I had the same installer each time. He did a very good job, and I enjoyed watching his love for working with stone. I feel this is a company that has a true love for stone, and a high priority for professional service. Poor customer service and industry knowledge. They had no idea how to install a bar top. One guy said I needed no extra support for 16 inch overhang and 3 inch cantelever (sp). Next guy said I needed to tear down wall. I had to figure out how to install the bar top myself. Tavis kept promising to get me a quote and it finally came after two months. I asked to speak to a manager and they said they were not interested in doing my job. Stay away from and go with company that is more professional. read more

We used VM&G years ago for our first granite installation. When we moved we returned because we were so pleased with the initial service and installation. In October 2014 we had granite installed and the installer cracked our brand new cabinets. Long story short, it has been 6 months and we are still getting the run around. Our brand new cabinet is still cracked and everyone is too "busy" to respond or follow up. Told me they would call me for scheduling an appointment. Three days goes by and still no call. Called to talk to the rep that helped me on the 4th day after not hearing anything. Talked to him in the am and said that they have everything set and is just a matter of scheduling and will call me back since he is busy. 5 hours later and at least three phone calls where he was unavailable, I talked to Sayit and he said that they will not do the job anymore because the job that was going to use the majority of the slab got cancelled yesterday as he claims... I asked for proof of cancellation and he said it was "cancelled over the phone"...so convenient...for which we all know is BS since if you cancel such a big order, they retain a portion of the deposit. So not only did he lie and could not prove the cancellation, they refused to honor the quote. These are probably one the worst bunch of folks I've had to deal with. We had used M&T and Virginia Marble their associate warehouse for our kitchen and were very happy with M&T from Maryland. We had one issue with electric that they took care of. However, we decided to put new granite in our bathroom and wanted to retile our separate shower and our roman bath. We were told we had to use Virginia Marble for the bathroom. We visited the showroom in Chantilly and found just the right piece for our bathroom counters. The sales person arranged for a person to come to measure our bathroom and make recommendations on how much tile we would need. Unfortunately, it was Anna who they scheduled to come. She arrived more than 2 hours late (only left the showroom after we called to ask where she was). When she showed up she was extremely rude, was upset we were not putting in new cabinets and basically blew off my wife. Her estimate was TOTALLY messed up - the numbers did not add up, she doubled the costs on some items from what we had been told, and did not ever give us a proper estimate for the shower and tub. We did order, and have installed, the granite countertops. They did a good job. BUT, although we called four times, visited the showroom three times and tried to get a real estimate of the tilework and installation for the new shower and tub surround, ANNA did not provide it. We finally went in last Saturday to give it one more try. We were kept waiting for more than an hour and when she finally came out of her office, she acted like we were trash. We never got our quote or picked our tile. We have referred friends to M&T and VM&G in the past, but now we are telling our friends not to use them. We will go with a company who wants our business. Like others on this site, Anna has totally turned us off from the company. We vote with our checkbook and our vote is going elsewhere to someone who values our business. read more
