I had my first dental appointment in probably 4 years (bad on me) after a family member referred me here. From the moment in walk in you feel comfortable and at peace. You are warmly welcomed, offered water, and a seat in a comfortable well-lit waiting area. Paper work is completely done in advance on-line, so that's all out of the way, they have all the information they need to get started. I was lucky enough to get Elizabeth as my hygienist, and I could not had been more pleased. She kept me informed with everything that was going to happen, had a great sense of humor, and incredible medical skills. The equipment is all new technology, and I can honestly say pain-free! I do need additional work since it's been awhile, but I'm excited to go back and continue this journey to healthier, whiter teeth. Helen, their Insurance Guru, will walk you through the options, explain what is paid for by insurance, what is not, really on top of her game. The representative admitted that internal billing department changes and operational issues were the reason it took them this long to reach out. Their own staff confirmed the delay was entirely on their end, yet they still expected me to pay without question. This is not how a patient-centered practice operates. If you value professional, organized, and respectful patient care, look elsewhere.

Believe the reviews when they say that this place is an absolute money grab. They tricked me into doing 8 fillings, through x-rays. My previous dentist never mentioned anything like this. I should of gotten another opinion, but I was naive and trusted her since I've only had nice, kind, good quality dentists. Literally after I did it, I have only experienced pain. Hot/cold food, acidic food, sweet food, and pretty much eating in general hurts. I tried to come back to do a bite adjustment, but literally every time, she basically blamed me and said that it's my fault that I can't tell her the exact location of where it hurts. Ummmm, let me brush off my imaginary dental degree. I've also done basic cleanings here from two different hygienists and let me tell you...the most painful cleanings I've ever had in my life. The last straw was when I tried to schedule a "final" bite adjustment (these are never-ending because I've realized she literally doesn't know how to fix the problem) and they called me to come early because the dentist was finished earlier than expected. I agreed because I was excited to have it done sooner since it was late in the evening and I had a tight appointment after, so I arrived to the office quickly. I ended up waiting in waiting room for 20 minutes....basically close to my original appointment time. I was only seen, when I mentioned it to the front desk receptionist. Literally another 20 minutes later, the doctor was finally available...to see another patient. I just left. And now I'm excited to find a new dentist.

Let me restate some of my previous reviews - I have been a patient of the original dentist, Dr. Nelson for over 23 years and followed him when he moved to the current location. I have been a patient of Dr. Garcia for a little over a year and I am very pleased. He has helped me with an awful fear I developed of having dental work done. He's done two crowns and a root canal for me - so I know of what I speak. So, back to Yelp.... The negative review gives this practice a undeserved 1 star rating, because if a human read the review, rather than it being rated by an algorithm, it is very apparent that the reviewer was upset that the previous dentist left abruptly and didn't prepare the staff or the patients for the change in a timely manner. She rated the dentist and the office during their first difficult week, before the staff were even used to Dr. Garcia's name yet. So, I've been told that it is a computer algorithm that recommends ratings by several factors -it does not like one star or five star ratings, it does not recommend reviewers unless they have many reviews, especially reviews of varied stars, or if they are popular, etc. Yelp prides themselves on the fact that there is no human involved in the process to keep the system as unbiased as possible - but I say that there are times a rating must be read by a human, too. This is a glaring example of that. To think that someone needing a dentist in hurry, like I did when I broke my tooth, finding this rating and choosing another dentist based on one reviewers inconsiderate review. Dr. Garcia got me right in, he was able to take care of everything in his office, a one stop shop which is a far cry from what I experienced before. So, for the record, I give Dr. Garcia and his staff a 5 star rating, and Yelp a three star rating which will give Dr. Garcia a 4 - to please an algorithm so that by some chance this review will be recommended and help counter one woman's unfair review. WELL... Our Sept/Oct visits were great as usual, complete with goodie bags (even for grown ups) and…read moreall, but I needed to have a crack repaired. We scheduled the filling but had to reschedule. Today I walked in and Dr. Nelson is GONE. He sold the practice. Apparently the staff didn't even know it until 2 weeks ago. It's a new doc... and here's the scoop: His name is Dr. Garcia... his staff didn't even know his first name, so good luck doing a search to find out anything about his background. He makes bad jokes in an effort build rapport. I laughed to make him feel better, but did not think he was funny. He is apparently very experienced in his country (Columbia), in both general dentistry and root canals. He moved here (US) recently and took a General Dentistry court (I gather that is required which makes sense), and I think he said he was working with another practice doing implants. He offered no names, nothing I could research (then again I was sitting in the chair, not like I had the opportunity to research him well from there). First he examined my Xrays and my mouth. He disagreed with the findings and recommendation of Dr Nelson. (Hmm) Plus, while he was doing this, with instruments in my mouth, head turned to the computer screen to see the Xrays, I was rather put off that he didn't move the instruments from my mouth. Twice I had to pull his hand out of my mouth. The first time to explain what he couldn't figure out (I don't have 12 yr molars), and the second time so I could swallow. (Umm, hello? Patient here!) I thought "well, I am here" and decided to move forward with the fillings that both doctors agreed were necessary. I let him numb me. He had that needle in my mouth FOREVER to numb me! The assistant and he explained that is important - prevents blood pressure from spiking, helps it numb more thoroughly, etc. But no other dentist has ever done that and the result is the saliva in my mouth was pooling in the back of my mouth and I thought I was going to choke because I couldn't swallow. I nearly had a panic attack. But I was determined to get my dental work done. Let's try again... more numbing - other area. This time I did not feel the needle touch my gum and wondered if it did because I felt the liquid from the needle run down my gum and into the back of my mouth. Not only did it taste terrible but it nearly made me choke. I finally get to sit up, rinse my mouth. I am really nervous, and the waiting is making it worse. Doc is waiting for me to be completely numb. Well, it worked. The back of my throat was numb (as well as gums and tongue). You know how your tongue feels (big and uncontrollable) when it is numb? Well, imagine that being the back of your throat. I was sure if I laid back down I would choke for sure. This idea was making me very nervous and I decided to leave at this point. I will give him this... Dr Garcia did NOT get upset with me. I think he wanted me to leave. I wondered if he felt like he should be doing the work. At one point, I showed him the palms of my hands saying "See how blotchy my hands are? That's because of nerves." When I said that I looked at his hands... they were blotchy too. That is when I knew I should leave. All this being said, the staff is still AMAZING. I just don't think I will be going back. I canceled my daughter's appt that is scheduled for tomorrow.

My 8 year old daughter broke her tooth on Saturday evening, Labor Day Weekend. She needed…read moreimmediate attention. Our family dentist was not answering, so I kept calling around to the top rated dentists. Dr. Grossman called me back, and within an hour we were sitting in her office getting help. As you see in the picture my daughter was just like new within an hour, and we will be forever grateful. Dr. Grossman seriously must have the best bedside manner you could ever ask of a doctor period, then add it was a Saturday evening. It is evident she is passionate about her calling, and we were blessed that she was able to serve us. If it wasn't for COVID, I'd have probably hugged her in gratitude.

I had a very disappointing experience with Stone Springs Family Dentistry in Aldie…read more I went in for two crowns, and the dentist, Dr. Grossman, was very rough during the procedures. It made what should have been a routine experience unnecessarily uncomfortable and stressful. On top of that, I was referred out for a root canal to an out-of-network specialist without that being clearly communicated to me. This ended up costing me significantly more than expected. Because of this referral, I quickly exhausted my insurance benefits and was left paying much higher out-of-pocket costs. To make matters worse, when I raised concerns about this, the office was not willing to take responsibility or work toward a resolution. I was still charged an additional $647, which they would not waive despite the circumstances. Overall, this experience was frustrating both from a care standpoint and a financial transparency standpoint. I would strongly encourage others to ask detailed questions about referrals and insurance coverage before proceeding here.

Everyone at this office really does their best to provide the most comfortable experience. They offered me a weighted blanket before getting my fillings and it really helped!
