Been a customer for years spent multiple thousands there buying equipment. They will have some really good deals price-wise. They are not very service friendly or communicate well. Example bought outdoor refrigerator price was above online price but they install it and haul the old one away. Problem refrigerator was not leveled. I watched the install it looked good. When checking it later it did rock. I signed off on the job so that is my fault but after having multiple surgery's it's hard to throughly examine and test everything. I asked if some someone could drop by and level up the legs, no hurry just when they are in the neighborhood. I was told that will be $179 to stop at your house. That seems to be unreasonable to me. In the future i will buy online and hire a contractor to install. read more

We got a hot tub from them about 4 years ago was told it was a great tub we have it paid down to about 900.00 then it will be paid off a few pipes busted on it and keeps leaking out so I called a your lady was very nice and was willing to try to help , she got up with a service person who told her even thou I sent photos and video what was going on he must come out . He wanted to charge me $179.00 and then you had to add taxes to it . I all most forgot the tub i did take was not even the one i order it was the wrong color . He made me aware of the available sales and held the tub for me extra time when my construction went slower than anticipated. After installation, I was able to email or text him at any time, with questions on the chemistry. He even said it was ok to reach him while he was out driving cross country. Every question answered and no issue was ever overlooked. They have the years behind them and have seen it all so nothing is/was a surprise. So this review is long overdue, but better late than never. We purchased a hot tub from FOL and were extremely pleased with the sales and installation process. In talking with Andrey during the installation, we learned FOL also does landscaping, outdoor patio and kitchens etc. We contracted with FOL to have 12 trees (a combination of thujas and arborvitae), azaleas and purple fountain grass. We also had them extend the sprinkler system into the back yard. Couldn't be more pleased with all of the work the team did. Again, great sales and service and follow up when we had questions. Stay away from this company, they promise you one thing and do not stand behind it. They all lack of communication. They will take your money as fast as they can and you won't hear from them even if your scheduled deliveries have been pushed back weeks and weeks. We have had a terrible experience with this company. When the salesman came out to do our patio quote we were sold that none of their work is outsourced and all done by their employees. After the project started we found out everything is outsourced. We were told our protect would take a week to complete. We are now 7 weeks in. After having a pile of trash and debris is our yard for 2 weeks which included a saw blade that our dog cut his paw on, we finally just cleaned it up ourselves. There was no attention to detail when installing the stairs. Rather than facing the "clean, smooth" side of the wood to be visible, we get to look at uneven wood full of knots. There are already cracks in the handrails, bolts that aren't even completely in the wood. When we voiced our concern we were told the builders can't be expected to look at the wood before installing it? Communication and customer service has been abysmal from start to finish. They recently did an awesome outdoor kitchen for my house. OMG it's amazing. We did a pizza oven, large gas fryer and huge grill, sink, refrigerator and eating bar. They really know their stuff. John is fantastic at the design and project management. We also replaced our two year old Twilight Series Master Spa with a Hot Springs Spa from Fun Outdoor as well. What a difference! I made an investment in a top of the line grill. I was tired of buying an $800 grill every 3-4 years. My experience with Fun Outdoor Living was beyond expectations. From the purchase, to the install it was nothing but professional. I called with two minor issues recently and it may have been the best customer experience that I've ever had. Not only did they take care of my problem but they also went out of their way to complete my warranty information. Making sure they understood my problem and took the time to exceed my expectation. We had a wonderful experience with Fun Outdoor Living. Andrey came out to the house, we discussed our vision, plants we liked and what we wanted to achieve. He looked at the space, sat down with his lap top and created a plan. Melissa submitted all the paperwork for our HOA ( I was dreading that). It was approved in a week!! Within a couple weeks they came out and completed the job in a day and a half. Andrey came out the day of the project to make sure everyone knew the plan. FOL uses their own crew too. That's very important because a lot of landscapers subcontract the projects. They use quality plants too. When the project was done they came out to check the work and make sure we were happy. Buyers beware! There is absolutely a bait and switch situation going on here. When buying the hot tub, everything goes great. They are super helpful, and overly friendly. That is where the helpfulness, friendliness, and professionalism stop. They pretty much drop the hot tub, leave, and then it all ends. If you are a first time hot tub owner like we were, we had no idea what to do next. They offer to talk to you on the phone, or text, but that doesn't even happen. The communication takes days at a time between answers. My wife personally went to the store thinking they would help, but that didn't get us anywhere either. We ended up hiring a different company to come get our water right, just to find out one of the parts we had gotten here wasn't even working right. When my wife called about that, someone in management just raised his voice, and became defensive. We spent almost $14,000 - to be treated horrible. If you are an experienced hot tub owner, you likely would be fine. However, if this is your first purchase, don't make the mistake of making it here, like we did. Edit to add, after posting this Google review, I also got a text from Andre, that he would be sending me to his attorney, for leaving this as a Google review. When we moved to Charlotte, we hired Fun Outdoor Living to enlarge our backyard deck and add a fire pit. In the middle of the deck install, I noticed they were not building a section of the deck lower as we had requested. Work came to a standstill as the salesman came out to discuss the matter. The owner came over a few minutes later. I explained the issue and he agreed to make the necessary changes, but not before telling the salesman (not me) to charge me an additional $1,000 for the correction. To his credit, the salesman halved the charge, but I ended up paying $500 more for their error. I wish I had used a different contractor. read more

Popped in and ended up buying a new BULL outdoor grill. This store is really about FUN outdoor living as they have everything you could dream of to make your outdoor experience as posh as possible. I was drawn to their selection of both grills and hot tubs. There were lots of hot tubs and they were salt water ones. That means less maintenance. I love that they will build whatever you need in order to install their products. We are already talking about how we could extend our porch and put in a hot tub. While customizing our outdoor kitchen, he made a concerted effort to understand both our budget and interests, studied our space, presented a CAD plan, gathered feedback, and ultimately delivered us exactly what we had envisioned. On the install day which nearly 95 degrees, John the owner was out with his workers helping to guide the crane lifting the kitchen and tub onto the roof. Everyone on his staff is polite and was mindful of our home. Since then, they've continued to show top flight customer service. I had my outdoor patio installed in 2013. It looked great at first, but after about a year some problems surfaced including settling, brick separation, and edging bricks coming apart. The company did come back and fix these issues without charge in 2014. I had some of the same problems occur in n2016. I thought the warranty had expired and I was on my own. After these issues was brought to the attention of Andre, he called me discussed the issues with me, and promised to resolve any issue I had. Within a couple of days he had a crew to my house and they fixed the issues in one day. He informed me that the company now offers a FIVE year warranty and his policy was to resolve any issues any customer may have. I am happy with the results and am very pleased with the response he showed. The patio was reset, leveled, and cement was used to adhere the edging bricks. It looks good. I tried to get warranty work on a Kamado Joe grill and spoke to "Forrest" about a defective component in my grill. He was cordial, nice, and bent over backwards initially. However, as soon as he found out I purchased my grill from a Costco Roadshow he quickly changed his tune. His attitude went from wanting to replace my item to telling me I had to go through the Kamado Joe website directly. Wow. Guess I won't be purchasing lump charcoal, accessories, or outdoor furniture from Fun Outdoor Living based on this initial interaction. It just didn't reflect favorably on the company or their dealer status. I don't mind going through the Kamado Joe website for warranty service but they suggest contacting a local dealer first. I also contacted a Kamado Joe area representative and she said this should not have happened. Bottom line: I'm glad I saved so much money on the purchase price of my new ceramic grill and will shop elsewhere for Kamado stuff locally. read more

I am now the proud owner of a Hot Springs spa purchased from Fun Outdoor Living. The main reason I purchased from Fun Outdoor is because of Andrey. I had met Andrey a couple of years ago at the Southern Living Show. I was impressed with his knowledge and ability to explain his products. I remembered that conversation when I started to get serious about buying a spa. I visited Fun Outdoor's Pineville store and was able to speak with Andrey again. What impressed me the most is how well he knew the mechanics of the Hot Springs spa. He pointed out several features that were unique to Hot Springs compared with the competition. And then Andrey said something I really appreciated - he said to go and compare this spa with competitor spas at the other dealers in town which I did. What I found was that the Hot Springs Spas were superior from a design and construction standpoint. But what really impressed me was how much more Andrey knew about his product than the other dealers. After my purchase, Fun Outdoor worked with me on my deck construction schedule, storing the spa until I was ready for delivery. They then delivered the spa when I asked. Afterward, Andrey came to my home and helped me understand how to manage the chemicals and maintain the spa. My wife and I were interested in installing a patio in the backyard and we had an employee come out to the house to assess our yard and give us a quote. We had a budget in mind as we also have other home projects that need to be addressed. We discussed our "dream patio" scenario and other smaller options as well. The employee who came to our house used a computer design to show us what it may look like, which was a nice touch. Our dream patio price, however, was twice what we expected it to be and he insinuated that anything less than what we considered would "not look finished". He was seemingly not interested (and appeared to be irritated) in working with us to help find a patio design that would be within our price range and to make something work. Ultimately, we were not happy with his apathy towards our project. We contacted a different contractor and we are going to be able to get something very similar and half the price with someone who is taking time to explore various options to make sure the patio would look great and that we are satisfied. read more

From design concept, through planning and execution, Andrey maintained a keen focus on customer service and superior end product, and all well within budget! The time he took sketching ideas on graph paper, discussing minute details, helping decide on models, options, colors, etc., and managing all the subs, went beyond my expectations. With a project this size, there will inevitably be scope creep and change requests - these too - were handled in an exceptional manner. Many companies will not accept change orders; FOL welcomed the changes and additions, which ultimately led to a grander end product. I feel that Andrey, the subs he chose, the materials that were used, the customized design, the end result and the price - were all 5 star. At this point, my wife and I are trying to imagine other outdoor projects, just so we can continue working with Andrey and FOL.
