Two of of those were actual service, and two were my hearing noises, bringing the car in for diagnostics where they found nothing. Kudos to them for putting up with my "mechanichondriac" tendencies and of course with mouthing the noises for them when I bring the car in. On all four visits, I was able to hang out and wait at their shop and peruse the nice variety of outdated magazines, watch and laugh at animal videos on my smart phone, so it was the auto service equivalent of fast food. He eventually said that was OK and I said I would be back closer to the appointment time.
