The safe is always friendly the biggest problem is even though you have an appointment it seems your wait is quite long! 45min and still waiting I'm ready to just leave, and not reschedule. If your buying glasses they seem to be very attentive but the rest of us not so much! Just needs to be better managed! read more

I don't know what's wrong with the receptionist the one at the counter here. The clinic looks nice in a good area,the doctor and her assistant were very nice and friendly , but the receptionist... It took half an hour on hold just to make an appointment. When they finally answered, they hung up, so I had to call and wait again. When I arrived, she was looked unfriendly, I felt like she having not in a mood to talking to me but she needed to because it's her jobs and didn't smile at all, It was not that's smooth to get complete information with me. I made an appointment for an eye exam because I got glasses last year and wanted to know if my eyesight had worsened. After the exam, the receptionist didn't even give me the results after, she just told me to come back to get do the glasses and then ignored me. I had to ask for the results myself. I was shocked by the service before did the eye exam and after. She didn't smile even for a second from the moment I walked in until I left. That's fine she doesn't need to smile to me, but her attitude and her mood towards to me as a customer her service was terrible. Even though the doctor and her assistant were really nice and friendly ,but because of this receptionist the one at the counter, I won't be going back again. read more

I had been avoiding glasses for years and finally caved. Dr Youssef was incredibly professional and I now have glasses i absolutely love. This office utilizes state of the art technology to insure your script is perfect. I cannot imagine my day to day without them. Not sure what the negative reviews are about--yes, we waited about 15 minutes, which is actually quite short for any doctor's office. Amel was incredibly patient, especially considering I brought my father who doesn't speak the language well. She guided us through the exam, which was very high-tech and included a wide range of important diagnostic parameters I didn't see at other offices -She's truly kind, professional, and exceptionally patient. read more

I originally had an appointment for 3 PM with this optometrist. My Job wouldn't give me the time off to come at 3 PM so I had to come sooner that day at 10:30 AM which they accommodated it and I was very thankful for. Once I got there, the staff was very nice. I wasn't a bit of a rush because I had to go to work right after I wanted to be in and out. They sent me down and gave me a retina scan. The main or only issue I had was once the optometrist came in should a very lengthy conversation with another customer while I was stuck sitting there for almost a half an hour. I finally walked to the receptionist and asked her to inform a doctor that I needed to get to work and I couldn't wait any longer. Once I finally got in, she was very nice. Did the eye focusing exam very quickly and I was out there in about five minutes. I was mainly just upset that I had to sit there for so long when I could've been in and out of there in 15 minutes, but overall not a bad place I decided not to look at glasses or even ask about prices because I was in a rush to get back to work, but I will post more if something is wrong with that or off. I made an appointment with this practice after finding out that my usual (amazing) eye doctor did not accept my new insurance. I called first and verified that my insurance was accepted here, which they told me it was. The day of my appointment, I went to the practice and was told, after filling out all of my paperwork that my insurance wasn't accepted. Mind you, I have a very common eye insurance. I guess it was just this particular plan that is special. The ironic thing is, when I called to schedule I gave them my member ID so that they could confirm it was accepted! The practice is very cramped, with no real waiting area. There is no organization and the office staff is super condescending and unpleasant to deal with. I didn't realize at the time, but the person that was trying to make numbers that didn't add up add up was the eye doctor. She was essentially trying to tell me that by paying more as a cash pay patient I would be saving money. This doesn't make sense right? In reality me cash paying is more expensive for me and more of a profit for their practice. I agreed to do an exam because my current prescription was giving me a lot of problems. I paid almost $200; it was the single biggest waste of money I have ever spent. My "prescription" was generated with a computer. The doctor hardly confirmed it and told me it was accurate because this technology was the best. I picked out a frame in her office which would have cost me almost $900. I went to LensCrafters in fashion show (where my plan was accepted) and got a Gucci frame, Tom Ford Frame, and new polarized prescription Ray-Bans with lenses for $860 after tax! I also paid for a contact fitting. The office staff had me pay for everything before even seeing the provider. Then after my session with the provider they told me they don't have contacts to do the fitting with. So now almost 2 months later I still haven't received this contact fitting that I ALREADY paid for. To top everything off, after getting my new lenses the prescription was garbage. I went to ANOTHER provider and they told me that the prescription Amel gave me seemed like it was very out of range. I was also told my contact prescription was finalized even though I'd never gotten the fitting I paid for! I didn't even bother going back to her for a correction because her practice was that unpleasant. Don't waste your time or money here. It looks way nicer than it is. I will be fighting to get my money back. read more

Dr. Amel was super sweet, gave me options and listened to my preferences! A lot of options with glasses too. Highly recommend. First of all, trusting a mall optometrist is not something I was comfortable with in the first place. The shop itself is a little uppity and overly pretentious, even by Summerlin standards. Walking in, you already know it's gonna be outrageously marked up prices. My experience here was pretty sub standard for an optometry appointment. As a new patient, customer service was ok, I filled out all the paperwork at their counter and had the usual pre-exam tests with the assistant. I didn't appreciate being talked into all the "extras" that my insurance didn't cover, very awkward. I specifically wanted both a contact lens exam AND an eyeglasses prescription, as I have been getting both for several years. When I saw the optometrist, she used an eye scan technology that is supposed to be the latest and most accurate way to gauge a prescription. I just had to trust that a 30 second scan of my eye would yield a precise result. I felt that my eyes had changed for the worse (slightly) from my current prescription, and I knew that my current contacts and glasses were not as good/clear as they could be. I expected a "stronger" prescription. She was VERY adamant that I get hard lenses rather than the soft lenses I am accustomed to. I thought that was what the prescription was for: hard lenses. I didn't have her send to the lab as her pricing was way more than usual. I had to call and get a copy of my prescription emailed to me, I did not leave the shop with a copy of it for my records. From other reviews, it sounds like that is normal practice here. Having had both (soft) contacts and glasses made at a different shop, using Amel's prescriptions, both the contacts and glasses didn't feel like they improved my vision, but were seemingly the same as my old prescription/slightly worse. Not clear and crisp, but pretty much exactly the slightly fuzzy vision I came in with hoping to improve. Very infuriating. I wound up making an appointment at another optometry office that got it right the first time, but the out of pocket cost of a 2nd appointment elsewhere and having new lenses made only a week later was disappointing. Needless to say, I won't be trusting Amel with any further eye care. If a prescription isn't accurate the first time, and I have to pay out of pocket elsewhere to get it right, something here is WRONG. Won't be back. No thank you. read more

I want to start by saying that Dr Amel herself is really amazing! I've been to her twice and even brought my whole family this last time. That being said, the staffing and customer service leave a lot to be desired. Even when $1500 worth of prescription glasses were ordered they didn't have the consideration to let us know that the 2 week estimate of completion was delayed. Or that the glasses had finally come in nearly a month later. On top of that, when my Grandma asked to have her glasses fitted upon pick up, she was rudely told "we already fitted you" and brushed off. And they don't fit properly. (I'm not sure if that is ageism or just poor customer service) It's unfortunate because I expected much more out of this high end eye dr. Or at least considerate customer interaction. read more

I had no problems scheduling or getting my contact lens exam. However, I am leaving this review because the service since my exam has been very sub par. I wasn't given a prescription as I was leaving which is not a big deal. I called and was emailed a script. When I went to order contacts I was told my script was for glasses. I have since then called maybe 4-6 times and even spoken to the staff who told me they're emailing me a contact script but I have not gotten one. My messages have not been responded to. The doc was nice enough but the operation is not run well based on my experience. read more

I've been here multiple times and service is trash.. today I came in for my apt and the lady at the front advises me that the doctor isn't here and has to reschedule .. yet they have 5 people working in the front and no one could call me to advise me that? Terrible. Just terrible. Caught them negotiating insurance pricing on what they cover for lenses and frames. When I questioned them on why they aren't taking the $350 off the frames that the insurance covers and $225 for the lenses they kept avoiding the question and saying they were giving 20% off. I didn't ask for a discount. I asked for what my insurance covered. I notice they would play with the numbers and they never added up. My boyfriend bought his glasses here and they charged him $350 more for the frames to say that the insurance covered that amount, but really charged more to just pay the same original price. Shady business. (He didn't realize it, until he already paid) so of course he couldn't take it back. Bought my Tom Ford frames at optic instead and they actually do use your insurance, not lie about. AVOID this business. Obviously many people felt the same way. read more

As a long time client I was accustomed to a certain standard of care but the most recent visit left me feeling it was less. I did not receive the customary vision screening (the goggles placed over your eyes ) but relied upon a machine estimate; photographs of my eyes were taken but no personal review ; and I don't receive the same contact lenses due to insurance. Unfortunately , my rating is based on an average but I will find a new provider because the personal interaction is now a franchised feeling . It seems the quality of medical care is less and it's case by case. Try it out and post reviews so the average actually shows what's going on. read more

This is the 3rd time I've had my eye exam done by Dr Amel. She is always so welcoming and personable, I feel like I'm chatting with my bestie while getting my eyes checked. Dr. Amel wanted to sure that my contacts were the right fit before I left. She spared no time in finding many options for me to choose from. Located right in Downtown Summerlin, there is ample parking just around the corner. There are about 4 seated areas in the front, so it gets pretty crowded when there are more than 3 parties in the boutique. The staff are definitely wearing masks and there are plenty of hand sanitizer available. I would have liked to see some more social distancing enforced, though. Even though I made my appointment weeks in advance and showed up on time, there were still 3 other walk-ins right as I arrived and surprisingly they were all being serviced the same time I was. I walked around everyone and opted not to try my contacts that day even though I really wanted to get the right fit. All in all, I'd still return to Vision by Amel just for Dr Amel herself. She is fantastic at what she does, and I'm looking forward to our next visit. Note: Contact lens exam is separate from routine eye exam, the additional fee is currently $75.00 read more

Initially placed order for my Dior glasses 12/16, should've been a red flag when nobody took down my information but said they would contact me once the glasses came in. Anyways, they say it can take anywhere from one to two weeks depending on availability of the lenses. Two weeks go by and I don't hear back so I call and they say it's there. Once picked up I notice two places where the frame was cracked, so I called to let them know. They asked I bring the frames in the next day so I did. They looked at it and said they will order new frames for me and it'll take a week. I call back a week later and nobody knows what I'm talking about and asks that I wait to call back when the person who helped me that day can check, which is strange but I did so patiently. Once again no frames were ordered and she asks that I text her photos of the cracked frames and the frame info so they can order it. I do just that and she texts me back saying the Dr will order it and they will give me updates on it. I call back a week later, and shocker nobody knows what I'm talking about. They promised on multiple occasions that someone will call me back and never do. Last Thursday they stated the Dr will call me later that day because she has patients during the day, which I was okay with. Nobody called back. Anyways, I've been professional and patient because I understand things happen, but it's been extremely frustrating. I just told my husband I didn't want them anymore and am willing to lose the $1000 or whatever just spent on the glasses because it's been a waste of time and energy. I understand that places get busy and I understand that things go wrong, but I would think that they would want to fix it, but that's not the case here. I would hope they want to do better for their customers moving forward. read more
