Recently assisted my grandmother to her eye doctor appointment at this location. It was fairly easy to schedule the appointment via phone and check-in upon arrival. Between my grandma's last appointment and her most recent, she somehow broke her glasses. She was able to receive an eye exam and have her glasses fixed at this appointment. There was no significant change in her vision so all went well. Location accepts her Humana insurance, but call to verify that yours will be accepted. Personally, I feel like the facility could use some updates, but the customer service is great. Location: Located in the uptown area of Racine, WI. I have been going here for 10 years and and have purchased many pairs of glasses, including sunglasses and I'm really disappointed that a pair has a large scratch and they wouldn't honor the warranty that only expired just over a week ago. I was already considering going somewhere else because of the cost, but this secured my decision. read more

The doctors do a great job taking care of you. The office staff is a bit rough around the edges but not rude. Make sure if you are making plans for anything after your appointment, that you give yourself at least 2 hours for the appointment because that's how long it's gonna take. Not to mention the TWO WEEK wait for your new glasses. I understand but it's still ridiculous to have to wait that long for glasses. read more

My mom went in just to pick up her glasses. They told her to sit and wait. Almost two and a half hours later my mom (who works third shift and was missing sleep) was tired of waiting got up and asked if she needed an appointment to pick up her glasses. They then go somewhere along the lines of "oh I'm so sorry we thought you already went in" they then finally get her in and give her the wrong glasses. A complete strangers glasses and when she tells them she can't see and she doesn't think they're hers, they tell her to give it a few days and she'll get used to it. Frustrated and tired she decides to just take her stuff and go (she's had glasses for years and she knows you're not supposed to be completely blind when you first try your glasses) she asked for her safety glasses and they tell her she never got any. She finally goes are these even mine? And they ask her if her name is something else she responds "no! My name is _____"and again "oh I'm sorry I thought you were her" so ridiculously unprofessional. Not only did they make her sit around for hours but didn't even bother asking who she was, just pretty much racially profiled her and assumed she was the first Hispanic woman name they see. I don't understand how so many things can go wrong just by picking up glasses. Seriously at least ask for a freaking name! Where to start... the optometrist was amazing. And I came here because a friend from here in Racine suggested I come here for myself. I'm originally from chicago, so I'd hope the two hour drive would be worth all the high expectations. The service the environment, it was all great! However the person helping you choose your glasses...not good at all. Which is the reason I made a yelp account was to elaborate on how awful my service was during the choosing of my frames. The Optician...She was rude, kind of like hurrying me up trying to get me out. Clearly liked to pull her phone out a lot. And she's a white woman who portrayed a very interesting character. To be more clear, really unprofessional and very "hood." Not that there's any problem with that, but I was trying to pick out my glasses and not listen to her life story. I think her name was Sammy or Stacy. I can't remember but, this place isn't horrible, it's quite nice, however I suggest that if you are looking for glasses...to avoid this optician, as she really does not seem to like her job, as her phone seemed to be more interesting. read more

Last year I went in to my yearly eye appointment. The exam went well, the doctor told me that the vision in one of my eyes was just a little different than the other one. I thought that's not so bad. But when I got my glasses they were the wrong prescription. Come to find out the doctor had written the wrong numbers for my prescription. So I went back, and told them what was going on. They told me they would have to send my glasses in to get the right ones. Again when I got my glasses they were still the wrong prescription. And so I went back AGAIN. They checked the lenses and told me that the glasses had the right prescription (which they didn't). So I took the glasses and left. I went back one more time and they told me that there was nothing they could do because I had already gotten my free replacement on my insurance. I told them that this is not my fault and that I think they should replace them for me. They wouldn't do it. So I finally got so fed up dealing with all this crap for about 4 months I went somewhere else and paid for an exam (which is covered by my insurance) got the right prescription and ordered new frames (which I could get free with my insurance as well). I will never go back and I told my daughter not to bring my granddaughters there either! I got my eye exam on 9/25 (the eye doctor was NOT the problem) and when it was time to pick out my new glasses, they needed to order in some sample frames since I have a small face and have to order children's frames (selection was limited). I waited...and waited... and called back a few times to follow up on whether or not the frames came in. I got many responses including one that said they were not ordered. The same day I was told that they hadn't been ordered, I was also told they were in. They said I could come in that day and call them from the parking lot when I was there. I did that and was told I could not come in but needed to make an appointment. As I was driving away I got another call telling me I could come in. I drove around the block, went in, picked out and paid for my new glasses and was told it would be around a week for them to be done. That was on 10/29. Well, today is 12/11 and after several calls asking where my glasses were, I was finally told they were in (but initially I was told by one person that they had already dispensed them to me, by another that they were not ordered and by yet another that there was a problem with the frames at the lab). So as of 12/11 when I called back to make an appointment to pick up my glasses, I was told none were available until 12/18. This has been the WORST experience I have ever had trying to get glasses. Unless you are a gluten for punishment, I would not ever go to this vision clinic! read more

I was examined by Dr. Rahnuma Saiyed at Dr. Savin and Associates. I have a very weak eye and the corrective lens is very thick. Although it corrects my vision, I only wear my glasses for driving because the thick lenses is very unattractive. When I explained this to Dr. Saiyed, she asked if the lens were thinner would I wear my glasses. I told her, yes. When I took my prescription to be filled, the glasses came back with a plain piece of plastic for the lens on my bad eye. When I told the doctor I could not see well enough to drive without the prescription and asked her to give me a new prescription with the proper correction, Dr Saiyed refused and told me it was her opinion that I would be better off not using one eye. I was forced to go to another doctor and pay for another exam to get the proper glasses. I believe it is irresponsible for Dr. Saiyed to refuse to provide a corrective lens for my weak eye. Other doctors at the same office have provided a prescription for my weak eye in years past and I can see very well with it. I would strongly recommend not employing the services of Dr. Saiyed. read more

I have been going to this office since I was 15 years old which is many many moons ago! Dr. Savin is extremely attentive and quite a perfectionist when it comes to Eyecare and helping correct your vision. Environment is fast-paced because they are efficient yet he spends a great deal of time with you at each appointment. The office renovation is beautiful as is the eyeglass selection. Going to a family-owned business is always a better choice than feeding a large chain. read more

Love going here! Dr. Anderson is really so patient and kind. Always walks me through things at a pace I can follow. He's great with my kids too which is something I really like! I would definitely recommend this office. The staff is okay. There are a couple people that are really so nice and then some that need a little retraining in dealing with customers, but overall an awesome practice! Love this place! read more

I showed up 15 minutes early only to be there for an 1 1/2 hrs. It didn't even seem busy there and I was the last one out of the doors at 6:30pm with a 5:15pm appointment. I will never show up early again and if I have another negative experience, I am looking elsewhere to go. There was no sense of urgency from the staff. It took 15 minutes waiting in line to pay/check out. I have to call back tomorrow as the pay gal never told me when to expect my contacts and if I need to pick them up or if they can be delivered. They didn't even have my current insurance information even though I ordered glasses 6 months prior with my current insurance. Very frustrating! read more

Dr. Miller is awesome - she was very thorough with her exam, asking me questions about my eye history and with giving me options on what I wanted to do. She answered all the questions I had and was very personable as well. I very happy I switched optometrists! read more

Dr. Savin took me on short notice. I got the most thorough exam I have had in years. He found cataracts and one astigmatism that should have been found by previous docs. Staff was professional, competent and friendly. Great office and atmosphere on a busy Saturday morning. read more

Having damaged favorite frames purchased at the clinic, I returned today to see about having the hinge repaired/replaced. I was told it was not possible to do on site nor could they be sent out for repair. The technician suggested I look at new frames and lenses. I decided I wanted a second opinion and went to Fluegge Optical in Waterford (had purchased other glasses there more recently at a much more reasonable price than offerings at the Vision Clinic). Waiting only minutes, my glasses had a new hinge (matching the original) and at an extremely minimal cost (which was totally waived after I expressed my extreme gratitude and said I'd be writing a review). I feel the Vision Clinic did not want to accommodate me in any way, though I'd been a repeat customer. I will not return. read more
