This review is overdue. I've been a patient for over 10 years, even driving over an hour to continue my dental care at this clinic. I no longer am a patient due to poor care provided by this clinic. I've barely seen the same dentist each time I've visited for the past few years - the clinic feels more like a factory now and the lack of personalized care is very disappointing. I've referred my friends to the clinic as well and they have also stopped going as they have had poor experiences. They seem to always treat their patients with care and respect, and the couple times that I needed some help that was outside of their availability, they still contacted me as soon as there was an opening so I wouldn't have to wait months. I got a lower molar filling from dentist Hyeyoung Cho on Jan 9. It felt off right away, but since I was still numb, I wasn't sure if it was an actual issue. She told me to call back for a follow up if it persisted. Once the numbness wore off, the bite was definitely wrong. The filling felt too flat on top and didn't line up with my upper molar. I went back on Feb 20 for an adjustment, but Hyeyoung Cho came into the room with a hostile attitude. She basically started interrogating me. It's hard enough to articulate a bite issue since you can only go by feel, but her intimidating vibe made it so much worse. I felt so uncomfortable in the chair that I eventually just said "it's okay now" purely so I could get out of there and escape the hostile environment. After stepping out, I gathered myself and went back inside to try and resolve the issue one more time. The dentist practically yelled at me. She dismissively told me that if I wanted to get it checked, I should just go see another dentist. I have never had a professional act this way. You'd expect basic respect, especially when you're seeking help for discomfort caused by the dentist's own procedure. Her behavior was incredibly rude, showed a total lack of professionalism, and she outright refused to provide standard follow up care. read more

Becky, the hygienist went above and beyond cleaning the plaque build up and flossing my teeth. Bc my bottom teeth has more build up and harder to reach generally. I came in with the worst toothache of my life, expecting the worst--and left feeling incredibly grateful. From the moment I arrived, the staff at One Dental Specialties were kind, patient, and professional. The main doctor was thorough and gentle, and the office manager stayed in the room taking detailed notes during the consultation. I was scheduled for an extraction the next day, but when I asked about pain relief, they went above and beyond--asking the doctor if he could see me that day. He said yes, and the entire front desk stayed passed their closing time to help me out. The extraction was the smoothest, most painless dental experience I've ever had--even the numbing shot didn't hurt. The entire front desk team was warm, understanding, and genuinely caring. This place is really good. Cleaning is very meticulous and thorough. I believe this cleaning was probably the best I have ever had. Office was clean and modern. Enjoyed the flow of getting service from check in, dental care and setting up next visit. Recommendations for up sales were made but not pushed like a car salesman. During my most recent appointment, I met the dental hygienist, Nguyen Dann, for the second time. He is incredibly knowledgeable, meticulous, and thorough. He always takes the time to point out areas that need extra care things I might not even notice myself. Nguyen is very welcoming, as is the entire staff. You can tell he truly cares about his patients and goes above and beyond to make sure you get the best care possible. What a joke. This place used to be great when Jennifer was the manager. She was always on top of things like checking in, reminding you about appointments, and treating everyone with respect. Now, the receptionists, especially the taller Korean woman who's usually on the phone is extremely rude. She always has an attitude, never greets customers, and looks annoyed the whole time. She's the same way over the phone, too. One Dental really needs to do something about her because she's hurting their reputation. Honestly, if you don't have people skills, this just isn't the job for you. Just do me a favor and quit. When I asked about crown treatment, it took them freaking 5 business days to get back to me (you can see the image). Since the management changed, the place has been a mess. They didn't respond for days, then suddenly told me there was an opening in an hour and a half. It's like they have no clue about people's schedules or how to treat customers. Second appointment here to get a couple fillings, should have been easy. The hygienist assisting the doctor pried my mouth to keep it open for some reason. Once the doc took back control I was back to being comfy, thankfully. Not a huge deal, whatever it takes to get the job done right. On the other side for the second filling, they pressed hard on my bottom lip into my lower canine. I've a high pain tolerance and didn't pay it too much attention at the time, but like anyone my body still reacts when it's there--I told them both this prior to starting. I kept being told to relax my tongue, which I didn't realize at the time was due to that pressure from my canine digging into my lower lip. I thought it was just my gag reflexes acting up. My mouth even started to shake as we were finishing up. Surprised they didn't see it, but I came home to find a cut on my lower lip (where my lip was being pushed into my canine) and woke up this morning with a bit of pain there. Maybe they thought I'd be fine because of the numbing and local anesthetic? Though I should mention those were applied much further back. Regardless, it showed some lack of care imo. Job got done and the doc was nice and informative, which is what really matters most to me. I'll chalk this up to me being a fairly new patient and that it'll be better next time. After the procedure, there seems to be some mismatch in info from the doc to the front desk--I was told I was going to be referred out for wisdom teeth extraction from the doc, but the desk said I'd be doing it here. I just made another appointment to avoid making a fuss, hoping I can trust whatever their process is. Still a bit of a red flag and the old me would have jumped ship by now ngl due to the lack of attention to detail, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I'd prefer having it done here anyway, but I'm foreseeing going back and spending more money just to hear what the doc already told me before. Lastly, just wanted to touch back on the billing side for my previous appointment with them for cleaning and as a new patient. Still the best exp I've ever had at a dentist btw (and after yesterday, I may need to try to request a specific hygienist to be safe...). I wish I knew this before, so I hope it'll be helpful for others new and considering One Dental. I have Delta Dental for my insurance, and some parts for cleaning were covered (albeit not fully, write-offs negligible), but big hitters were $150 for comprehensive oral exam, $200 for panoramic radiographic imaging, and $50 for topical fluoride that were not covered by Delta. Not a huge amount but deserves a heads up! read more

They have an unreasonable $100 out of pocket fee if you do not cancel your appointment 48 hours before your visit. I called 1 hour before my Friday evening cleaning appointment to reschedule, they rescheduled me for the next day (Saturday). I drove 45 minutes to get there. When I arrived they informed me of the $100 cancellation fee for my initial appointment and said that they cannot see me until it is paid. I explained that I was not aware of the policy and that I actually rescheduled my appointment, I did not cancel. They refused to waive the fee and allowed me to walk out of the door and take my business elsewhere. I learned from this experience that One dental Specialties is content with their success and they don't care about customer retention. I will be taking my family to a dental office that is more interpersonal, accommodating and understanding, one that understands the value of customer retention. All the staff were very friendly, and the doctor Kim also gave me very kind and detailed explanations about my question and my current dental condition. I was so satisfied with today's visit that my house is an hour away from this dental office, but I made the next appointment to visit here again. We have been coming to this dentist since moving to Ktown, after seeing such good reviews on Yelp. The facility is up to date, really clean, not to mention extremely convenient location (inside Madang Plaza). All the staff are super friendly, and they don't push for unnecessary services, which unfortunately has been our experience at previous dentists. I also ask a lot of questions because I'm scared of treatments but they always provide me with all the answers and any other relevant information to help me feel at ease. I've been coming to one dental specialties for a few years now for bi annual teeth cleaning. The front desk is amazing in that they are not only friendly and extremely organized but they are also bilingual. I have yet to meet a hygienist that I didn't love. In fact I look forward to dental appointments which is huge for a scary cat like me. I am planning to do orthodontic Invisalign within the next year and eventually get gum graft. While my tooth is fine and just needs more time to heal, the doc assured me that I did not need to do anything excessive at this time. He also didn't try to upcharge me or take advantage of a patient in pain. Im always weary of dentists bc in my experience, this happens! When I first came to One Dental years ago, Jennifer was the office manager, and she was incredible. She made sure I was scheduled for regular checkups with the dentist which included x-rays, and a thorough exam to examine where my teeth were and what work needed to be done. Since she left I haven't had anyone care about the long term progress of my teeth. I do my regular cleanings and have to beg to even be seen by a dentist. I had a crown fall off that they put in and no one responded to my emails or calls to help get it sealed back on. In addition, the crown is a half crown, which leaves my tooth exposed to bacteria build up between the tooth and the crown. I had to go to another dentist which ran me $400+ to get the crown re-sealed. Again, someone has yet to ask me about this, despite my multiple phone messages and emails. When I visit the office I'm generally ignored by the front desk, the woman at the front desk is on the phone 24/7, and if you try approaching her to "sign in" she just puts a finger up to be quiet and wait. I was promised the same dental hygienist as my last visit, but ended up getting someone completely different - he was fine, but not who I had specifically requested. The dentists are constantly leaving, so you never know who you're getting. Overall this place is cheap, and if you're not wealthy enough to afford good service and care, you're stuck with One Dental. read more

Everyone here is so very kind, compassionate, and respectful. Oftentimes doctor's offices are inhospitable because the receptionists are not very nice and aren't helpful in setting up appointments. Here everyone welcomes you the moment you walk in and they work with your schedule for any emergency appointments. (Shoutout to Irene at the reception desk!!) The dentists are very professional and really take the time to explain all the procedures to you so that you can make informed decisions. Receptionists kept asking me to wait without providing any explanation. They even forgot I was there and asked me what my name was and if I had an appointment. My whole family started coming here many years ago. My dad lives in UT and he needed several implants. It was cheaper for him to fly here and get his implants from a trusted dentist than to do it in UT. You don't want to mess with your teeth! All the staff has been so nice and attentive and we keep coming back cause they're easy to work with. I also love that they have several specialists here too so you don't have to go somewhere else. Conveniently located in the Madang plaza, One Dental exceeded my expectations to say the least! I was wary of making an appointment here because of some of the bad reviews with scheduling. However, everyone was so friendly and I had a great time here, Becky was my dental hygienist and she was very friendly and soothing. She gave me lots of great advice on preventing gum recession and how to improve tooth sensitivity. It seems they also have an Invisalign doctor on site certain days and have heard her work is fantastic if you're interested in the cosmetic side. All in all, would recommend coming here if you're looking for a dentist in K-town! PS: Parking is validated for 3 hours if you bring your ticket in! read more
