Customer service I have been using this location for the last 3-4 years. Me and my wife and the staff has been great. And we have been spent on average from $700-$900 per pair of glass with my insurance. The frames are great ok but recently the 2 years I have been getting my frames online but still using this vision works for the lenses. Which you would think it would be a bit less .but they still charged me the same amount on my insurance as if I were buying the frames and lenses. Which ok no problem I like the staff who is usually ok. But recently the lenses started to develop a fog like spot with in the lenses not sure why. But took back to vision works in highland Indiana on 1-18-2026. Showed to the receptionist at front desk she didn't know why spot was in lenses and looks to be on the inside of the lenses . So she told me to wait on the male named Bile . So once he looked at my glasses he told me in my opinion that my lenses in my glasses that I were all the time had been exposed to heat or has some how been heated up and that's why the lenses from the inside of the lense had formed a cloudish spot in the inside of the frame. Which was very insulting and dismissive of this young man with arrogance and unprofessional customer service. And told me I would have to see what the manger would say and that he believed my glasses that I keep in the vision works glass case that came with my glasses. And that I somehow caused the defect with in the middle of the interior of the lenses which clearly looks to be a defective with in the lenses . Nothing wrong or any defects with the frames that I bought online because the frames from vision works don't usually last more than 2 years and are not durable. But I still tried use their service for lenses. But I will no longer use this facility in highland Indiana hope that they train the part time young disrespectful mangers especially Mr BILE . Very poor customer service. My contact lenses were promised to be ready by 2 weeks. It has been 19 days today since my eye exam and they are just blaming the delay on UPS. I think the male staff who processed my order did not do so until I called today. This is my first and last time to ever go to this location. If ever, please go to the Merrillville location. I had an eye exam 34 days ago at the Visionworks Highland/Schererville Indiana location. I received my glasses, but my trial pair of contact lenses have not come in yet. I received my glasses after 2 weeks but I called a week after that and I was told my contacts were ordered but not in yet. I called this past week to check and found out they were never ordered. I was polite with the person that answered my call and told to wait for my phone call that they were in. My husband and I were dual insured so one for the glasses and one for the contacts. My husband has changed jobs this past week so the secondary insurance is gone now...leaving me with a larger bill to order my 6 month supply - when they arrive - if the new trials are good when they should have been covered during the reasonable time frame for them to arrive. I'm disappointed and stretched with my budget because everything is so much more expensive. read more

I have been to this location a few times and each time an employee by the name of Alex helps me each time and was very nice and friendly. Recent I told my mother to look at vision works for new frames as they have good deals and Alex helped us again. She picked up her glasses Monday and was very impressed with quality. I've been going to the Visionworks in Fishers for close to 8 years now and never experienced someone like Dr Grewal. He was very short and seemed frustrated by questions I asked about my vision and then suggested I just see another Dr. I've seen other reviews on this doctor and they are not positive. Visionworks needs to look at how there Doctors are treating treating valued customers. Customer experience is important theses days and Dr Grenwal should understand that as patients we need to ask question. Sorry to see they employ people like him. Very unprofessional and rude staff. Don't know what they are doing. I ordered contact lenses for three of my kids. Did not call me when they received the lenses. They handed me out the boxes without any name on it so we could not figure out whose lenses is whose. Refused to hand over the contact lenses of my third kid saying that we can not give you contact lenses until you see the doctor (Which I already paid for) instead of handing me over and advising that I bring it when I have doctor's appointment. During the same visit, I asked for a eye exam for myself and I was told I am not eligible , a complete mishandling and inability to do the job. wonder if doctors are also same. I really liked the whole staff except the Dr. himself. He was a little standoffish and little impatient. I thought it was just me or he was having a bad day but my coworker had and appt the following week and she asked me how I felt about him. The eye doctor here is an absolute Asshole. He talks down to his assistant and wanted to rely on a machine to say I didn't need glasses. I've been wearing glasses for 35 years, mine broke last night and I can't see without them. He kept telling me the machine says your vision is perfect. I have an astigmatism, which that machine doesn't check for. I walked out because I won't tolerate being talked down to and I certainly won't tolerate someone speaking to another lady (or anyone) the way he does. I feel bad for the other employee there. Yep, you can get an appointment almost anytime. They don't ever seem to be that busy, and there's a reason for that. I assume it's because people are burnt out on snotty attitudes. The only time I was treated kindly was when I came back on a late afternoon to pick up my glasses that I didn't need. But the optometrist couldn't figure out why I had blurred vision or was having headaches or even no peripheral vision. Never even tried. He just kept readjusting the machine and didn't do a dilation. He literally told me I needed these glasses and that my vision would be better and he headaches would go away. I went out into the "showroom" and some girl followed my husband around helping him to find me frames. Smh. Desperate. She even had on a wedding set, to bad it was on the wrong hand. And no she was not from the Philippines. I had a few of my nurses, I asked why they had their rings on the wrong hand and they told me. Very interesting. But no, she wasn't. I guess it is the new look? Who knows. Anywho, once she got shut down by him he and I found some that didn't put pressure on the bridge of my nose seeing as I was about to have surgery. We ordered them and they said they could be in the same day, then she came back and said the next day, then again. Finally I had enough and said just call me when they are in. She called him. Lol. Desperate. When I received the glasses they were cute, but they don't have transition lenses, nor anti glare, nor any other thing I asked for. And the thing that made me scratch my head the most was why I paid for the same prescription I could have gotten at Walgreens for $5.99. And they had nerve enough to put my $200 glasses in a BEBE case. They are not even name brand. They come in handy to hold my curls back! The nicest and most expensive head band I've ever purchased. BEWARE!! I just ran out of my appointment in tears over the treatment I received at this Visionworks. I am absolutely disgusted over the treatment and disrespect of this "doctor". I checked into my appointment and waited for the doctor to see me. Once I sat in the chair he began the appointment not even explaining what he was doing. The only reason I even went to Visionworks is because my normal eye doctor was on vacation for 2 weeks. On average my vision appointments for glasses or contacts takes about 45 minutes to an hour. This "doctor" had me in contacts in 25 minutes. After I told the "doctor" what brand I wear he told me "we don't have that" I said ok so what are my options. He told me I could wear dailies but can also wear 2-week contacts. Hmmm that's funny because every eye doctor I've ever seen for the past 10 years said I could absolutely not wear 2-week contacts because of how dry my eyes are. This dude didn't care! He seemed very bothered to be there and I had enough. I told the "doctor" I'm done after his rude and condescending tone came to be to much. I walked out of his office and went to sit up at the front desk to pay for my appointment, the women at the front desk looked freaked out and asked me what was wrong. I told her the doctor was so rude and I needed to leave. As I was sitting there here comes big man saying "ma'am I'm so nice I'm so nice ma'am don't leave I'm so nice". I told the guy that he needs to leave me alone and please go back to his office he continued to stand there and say "I'm so nice ma'am don't leave I'm so nice" it honestly freaked me out that he would not leave me alone after I continued to tell him to leave me alone. On January 13, 2018, I had an appointment to have my yearly eye examination. I arrived for my appointment at Visionworks in Highland, IN. I was greeted by a young lady working at the front counter. My appointment was pretty prompt. I have no complaints about my initial interactions with the staff. However, once I was called back by Dr. Bertucci my experience became quite uncomfortable. Dr. Bertucci is quite rude and very unfriendly. The Dr. seemed to be in a bad mood. He just seemed annoyed that he had to give me an eye examination. Dr. Bertucci proceeded to give me my eye examination. He first asked me what brand of contacts do I normally wear. I answered. And immediately he kinda gave a notion as if he didn't care for the brand. During my eye examination Dr Bertucci informs me that I have a slight astigmatism in my eyes and I wouldn't be able to wear the brand of contacts I've worn for over 20 years. I replied, "what does that mean?" "Does that mean my eyes have gotten worse even though my prescription hasn't change?" Dr. Berucci seemed bothered that I asked any questions and didn't really answer my questions. To me customer service is huge!! Customer service is what keeps your business running. A smile and making a customer feel welcome is not that hard! A pleasant experience with a business will keep me as a customer forever!! Needless to say I will not be back!! read more

Do I have to give a star??? BUYER Beware:This store is full of people who would tell you anything instead of making it right and working under some type of uniform policies. My visits have been a total nightmare. First my son had to have a contact lens first fit exam. Exam done the end of July. Those other than the doctor did not know he had already informed me that they were short staffed and it couldn't be done that day and they had to order the contacts. Ok fine call us when they come in. Well I never got that call. I had to call them two weeks later to be informed that they came in the night before and it was too late to call me! First lie!! They called me to tell me the glasses were in at 7pm. Had first fit appt and it didn't go well had to wait for them to order ONE set of contact lens again which took THREE days this time. Was told on the phone first fit spots could only be scheduled in the afternoons..SECOND LIE! My first appt was at 9:30am. After second fitting called corporate only to find out that the don't solve issues they send them right back to the store. What's the point and I see why the store didn't hesitate to give me the number. Everyone in the store is a manager given the day you go in or call. So here I was thinking it was my son who was just not ready for contacts. Well not true!!! If he is taught anything he can and will perfect it. VisionWorks told my son to watch YouTube videos to see how it's done.....really!!! I thought that is what you were there for. Long story short avoid this store at all costs because when they wrong you and nine times out of ten they will they are going to tell you whatever is the going phrase that day to end the conversation. However I do suggest you go across the street to America's best....hence the name!!! As I wait for my call for the lenses to come in I go over to America's Best and they teach my son in one visit what VisionWorks did not even attempt to do the first second or third time. They just sat in front of my son and told him, not taught him how to put contacts in. And might I add America's Best was cheaper. Those ladies in Vision works are simply there to have a job and apparently corporate could care less because nothing is uniform there. You will get a different answer for everyone there. Here it is October 16th and I am yet to get a call to schedule an appt to come in for my final fit. No need though you won and TOOK my money for the service and product you couldn't provide in a timely manner. The ladies that work in this store are very friendly. The eye doctor could sure use a lesson in how to listen, be friendly and courteous. He is an arrogant, know it all with a robotic "personality" and I will not go back. The sound of his own voice is all he enjoys. I was not greeted, thanked or treated well and I had to wait an extra 20 minutes while he talked sports with a father of another client! He must have wasted his daily allotment of nice for them. Not fond of waiting when I had an appointment for a certain time and then to be treated like I am an annoyance. Steena's review is on the money...and I don't think I could perfect it. The ladies there, especially Torin, are lovely. The Doctor on the other hand, Dr. M Bertucci, is the most arrogant and rude person I have ever met.... and I sell cars for a living. I was there for over 2 hours, trying on 3 different lens. Apparently, I was a huge disappointment that I didn't choose his preferred company. Also, apparently, I had the audacity to choose the 3rd lens, without this approval or review of the 2nd lens, while I was waiting for 45 mins for him to see other appointments. I understand that I walked in to try the trials and that I expected to have a longer wait.. The wait is not my concern. I ordered my lenses and glasses today because I am in desperate need of them. I didn't care for his "professionalism" on my first encounter and I am most alarmed that my second encounter is all that much worse than the first. I only choose this clinic due to my old one stopped using my insurance, and the convenience of the location. I would have rather paid out of pocket to deal with a doctor on a normal human level. I had a 1:00pm scheduled appt for my son. I arrived 20 minutes early to fill out paper work. At 1:04pm one of the workers approached me as we are sitting there waiting for our appt. and said you checked in early. I said yes I know, I checked in early to fill out paperwork because I have a 1:00pm appt. The works then says, there are others that are scheduled before you. Did anyone tell you that we are running an HOUR behind, when your checked in? I said no, no one told me. If you are running that far behind, how about a phone call to those scheduled to let them know. Fast foward to today, we ordered glasses and trail contacts for my son. Glasses came in, my husband picks them up with my son. He forgets to ask about the trial contacts that are on order, but there is nothing indicating that the contacts were order on receipt. I called this morning, the person that answered the phone was so RUDE! I tell her we had the reg. exam and contact exam, and we ordered glasses and trial contacts. After reveiwing my receipt I didnt see anywhere on the receipt that contacts were ordered. She tells me if there trial contacts it wouldn't be on the receipt and it will take 7-10 days. I was in the process of thanking her for the information and will call back and she literally hung up on I me. read more

I had my eye exam at vision works in Highland, IN. Not only am I pleased with their excellent customer service! The optometrist was outstanding! Honestly, Dr. Bertucci is excellent at his craft! He addressed my concerns and took his time adjusting lenses to meet my needs! He even had me try on trial glasses with my script to ensure this was the sharpest, clearest script! Great prices too!
