We come here for our annual exam and free pair of glasses with our insurance and then take the prescription to Costco for two more really nice pairs. The doctors and staff are great and they have a nice selection of frames. The coolest part is that sometimes you can get your glasses the same day -- Costco takes over a week. However, their basic frames and lenses are very expensive compared to other places. Overall, this is a solid place for an exam especially if they accept your vision insurance. read more

Scheduled a 3:00 appointment for my daughter, we were on time. We finally were called back to see the doctor at 4:05. The entire place is filthy. The display glasses to try on are gross. It should not take 2+ hours to get contacts when you've had them before and they have all your insurance info on file. I scheduled back to back appointments, 3:45 and 4:00. I waited for over an hour to see the doctor and when I came out they had started with another patient before my child. When I asked why the lady loudly told me there were other patients before us and we just needed to wait. Obviously this wasn't the case. An apology for the over sight would've been sufficient but the attitude like we were wrong is ridiculous. Mistakes happen, rudeness is a choice. I came in to pick up 2 pair of eye glasses, lovely worker Ninette took extra time to teach me how to use the lenses as I have never had progressive bifocals before. She even told me not to wear them home since I was driving myself and not used to them and she didn't want me to get into an accident as it takes on average 2 weeks to adjust to them. I mentioned I had ordered 2 pair. She asked how many emails I got & I said only 1, but no big deal, I didn't mind coming back. She insisted on checking in the back & she found my other pair for me and had me try them on and practice reading and seeing just like she did with the first pair. I feel she really went above and beyond as she could have just said come back when I got the next email. She was kind, friendly, caring & professional. read more

Had an appointment and I was late. 4:10 for my 4:00. I started with, 'I'm sorry I'm late, I couldn't find you in the mall, let me know if I need to reschedule'. The associate then started to criticize me for being late. I again apologized. Another customer walked in right behind me and the associate looked ar another and said, 'that must be the other 4:00 who is late too'. At that point I said, 'I told you I was sorry and could reschedule you don't need to remind me I was late'. I then said I would go elsewhere. I was 100% late. I acknowledged that and offered to reschedule. The way the associate was talking down to myself and the other customer was not good service. read more

Prices seem no cheaper than any other spot, so I'll just say their reasonable . Only problem I'm having is I was scheduled an appointment for 1:30 and it's 2:pm now. Vision works would also be better if their system was all connected. I found a pair of frames that I liked in Memphis but I was told if I were to purchased in Memphis when I returned home if one or the others stores were to have a sell they wouldn't honor my purchase. So that sucks!! Also I don't care for the misconception that you get a deal on glasses. After they apply the scratch resistance, no line bifocals and what not,your price jacks up but there's nothing you can do because you need the specs. Received a flyer in the mail indicating that I was eligible for $100 back for being a VSP member. Made an appointment but forgot the flyer when I went to the Southlake Mall store. While being checked in I inquired about the $100 and the employee mumbled not to worry. Had the exam and ordered 2 pair of glasses. I asked again about the $100 and was told that I would be given a form to mail in. Left without receiving a thing except for a envelope with my receipts. I was advised that my glasses were going to be ready on May 4th. I called at 11am and was asked did I read the date on the envelope. I answered that I had and it read that my glasses would be ready on May 4th. The employee told me that I had to come after 5pm to pick up my glasses. Something told me that she was not telling not being truthful. I showed up at 4:30 and my glasses were ready. After a very brief fitting, I was asked if I wanted a bag to carry the glasses. I did and watched as the employee grabbed a bag and placed my glasses in it. After returning home I opened the bag and saw that the last employee only gave me a single cloth for cleaning the two pair of glasses that I purchased. After spending over $650 for my glasses, not receiving the $100 back, and being lied to about when I could pick up my glasses Visionworks employees thought that a single cloth was sufficient. I'll never patronize Visionworks again. They only got one star because you cannot give zero stars. read more

Shame on you Vision Works.... My dad did not deserve to be treated like he did. Completely humiliated in front of an office full of clients as well as staff. The the lady helping him, who are you to accuse him of forging a script from the VA without doing a proper check of the document? Especially because you have one on file that looks the exact same from the year before and had no problem taking it then. It was for eye glasses, and stated he already had his eye exam... like really? Absolutely the epitome of unprofessional!!! We have to do better than this. There are ways to handle situations and the way this was handled was completely out of order. I know I will never do business with them ever again, if this is how they treat Veterans that risked their lives for our country. Completely DISGUSTED by the whole situation. read more

Terrible service. The doctor was arrogant and dis respectful When I picked up my glasses 2 1/2 weeks later, they cleaned them handed them to me gave me a generic case and said thanks. I usually get my glasses at Walmart, decided to use Visionworks in the mall and that was a mistake, i ordered sun glasses and regular glasses, went to pick them up and the sunglasses had clear lenses, that means an extra visit... later i broke a pair and bought some replacement frames, the glasses were supposed to be done 2/28, on 3/4 I called to see if they were ready, "nope but they will be tomorrow" so the day comes to get my glasses and they are crooked on my face, I can feel it, i can see it, and the lady kept insisting that they were straight... what should have been 2 short visits turned out to be 3 visits and hundreds of dollars spent on crooked glasses read more

The doctor herself was great. The staff was horrible. I got there and was Filling out paperwork and the two girls up front were talking about how short staffed they were and bad mouthing another worker. Then I get called back to get started and take out my contacts and another worker comes up to the girl helping me and they were having a full convo about schedules and her being late. All while I'm standing there blind and waiting for the next step. Again the dr was great and after I saw her I went back out to the front and had no idea where to go. Staff helped a walk in before they helped me who had an appointment. Then when I finally sat down to order things the lady that was helping me took a phone call that lasted 15 minutes. Stayed open late to help my son!!!! Great Doctor and excellent staff! My 9 year old son had an irritated eye that urgent care couldn't diagnose and referred me to an optometrist. I called Visionworks 10 minutes before closing and Dr. Bassetto, Gary and Angela stayed open late and helped my son. read more

We went there because they were having a 2 for $99 special. Let me just say, you get what you pay for. Or, rather, they nickel and dimed us with every stupid thing so it ended up being at least double the $99 anyway. But then: I got plastic frames, that need to be adjusted several times (because they were terrible at it, and would overshoot dramatically in every direction), they BENT the left arm. It wasn't TOO bad, so I let it slide, until a few days later, when I picked up my glasses after a shower to put on and the arm wasn't connected. They refused responsibility for the glasses and made me buy a new frame for $95, because they wouldn't just replace the arm. Then a few months later, the paint starts coming off one of the arms, it looks filthy like it's really dirty, but it's not, its just the material showing its cheapness. I called to get them replaced because it's only been a few months. But apparently the warranty is only good for 30 days. They said I could buy another $95 frame. I laughed and said not a chance. This place is worthless, cares nothing for customer service or customer satisfaction, and sells terrible products. I am never going back. read more

The female dr I saw was very nice. Other than that, it's been terrible. I'll never go back. I was just on hold for over 10 minutes because it's been a week and a half and I still don't have my contacts. So I hang up after 10 minutes and call back. The rude lady then answers and says I have a bad connection, and hangs up on me! I call back AGAIN, and when I finally get through to someone, they tell me my contacts are on back order! No one bothered to call me, nothing. I will NOT be going back there again. The front office staff is awful. read more

I went about 11 months ago and had an exam for lenses and glasses. While I like the glasses, etc., they were very high priced. I paid almost 500 out of pocket WITH insurance. Now today I call to reorder lenses and they tell me I can't order them over the phone and that I have to come in to order them. I wish there was a ZERO star option...I had no problems with the doctor but the manager lady and the people working behind the front desk were rude and inconsiderate and honestly, just seemed like they didn't want to do their job. After my exam, I went to pay and they said they couldn't find me for my insurance and didn't know where to bill it to and that I should know. I have never been asked this question before so I called my insurance and they said that the manager (who I talked to) should have been able to look it up and that they were just being lazy. I went back and told them and the manager said that it "would take her all day" and wouldn't do anything until we knew where our insurance was billed. She was very rude and made it seem like it was my fault and that I was stupid. I had my insurance card and all the information. They just didn't want to make a call to do their job. It's been weeks and I still don't have everything figured out. Do yourself a favor and NEVER come here. I'm about to forget it and pay out of pocket so I don't have to deal with them again. read more

I had to wait 30 minutes just to get someone to help me order my glasses. This Visionworks is extremely short of help. They need to hire more people. The good thing I can say is that I was greated by an employee as soon as I walked in. Also, they had plenty of frames to choose from, however, most were quite expensive. I found an inexpensive frame, but not as low-priced as the sale frames. They don't have many sale frames, the advertised $49.95, to choose from. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had when it comes to customer service. I walked into the store and waited literally 34 minutes before I was finally greeted by a sales associate or she was possibly a manager. I walked around looking at frames for at least 25 minutes and the 4 sales associates who were there walked pass and around me continuously. I had to go to the center of the floor and stand with with 5 pairs of frames in my hand before an associate who was stocking the shelves asked me, without even looking in my direction, If I was with the lady in the back (another African American) and I replied, "No, I'm alone and I've been in need of assistance for the last 30 minutes..." She tries to talk over me to drown out my complaining and ushers me over to the nearest desk and suddenly she transformed into this somewhat concerned associate. The really sad part was the fact that they weren't even busy. Associates kept coming from the back along with optometrist and they were just standing around gossiping about upcoming personal plans and events, One manager was talking about walking over to Tmobile and letting them charge her phone,,, I witnessed 6 different customers walk into the store and be greeted and helped while I was simply ignored for 34 minutes. I'm still in shock and upset over this entire experience. If it were not for the great deal they offered, i would have simply walked out and called their corporate office to file a complaint. read more
