Visionworks at Deland Florida staff very friendly manager very rude and defensive my measurements on my lens was done incorrectly went there three separate times the manager finally called me back she wanted me to leave my frames I explained that I could not because I cannot see without my glasses and my old glasses were not going to work my friends are only $99 and she said she didn't want to take the loss on them did I expect her just to throw them out the mistake was on them was not my fault that they did the job incorrectly I told her not to get so offended I know that she did not do the job herself at everybody there was very nice about it but she already called with a bad tone trying to cut me off did not want to give me her store number or her corporate number she said she did not know her corporate number which is ridiculous who does not know their District manager's phone number I just don't understand if you don't like people why work for customer service don't work Management in any kind of retail store as a retail manager for 27 years I understand people try to get over but in my case they did r my lens is wrong read more

This was the worst eye exam of my 40-plus years wearing glasses. I went here because my longtime eye doctor retired. The office is literally freezing and boring. When I was in the exam room waiting for the doctor, I could overhear here him berating and yelling at one of his staff. "This is UNBELIEVABLE!" He screamed as he stormed past the room I was in. It was very uncomfortable. When he finally came in to examine me, he didn't want to here me out or listen to any of my concerns, he ran through the motions as fast as he could and was done. I ended up ordering my glasses elsewhere because Visionworks wanted nearly $600 for my prescription glasses. I decided to check prices at Target and Costco. I ended up getting glasses with the same high-index progressive lenses for less than $150. But when my new glasses arrived, my vision was fuzzy. After trying several adjustments, I decided to get a second examine and found out the prescription James Williams gave me was WRONG. Save your money and time, go to an eye doctor who treats his staff with respect and doesn't rush through an examine so you end up with a proper prescription. The only good news is that even after paying for second exam out of pocket, I still saved money versus what Williams and Visionworks quoted me at. read more

Visionworks accepts VSP insurance. If you have VSP insurance, log into your online VSP account before shopping here because they have rebate offers and coupons to use on top of your regular benefits. I ended up with almost free glasses with all the deals. I got over $240 off my Longchamp frames that cost only $249, so I paid $9 in the end. I also got a $50 rebate for my lenses on top of all my benefits. As I said before, the rebate forms can be found on VSP account. The only catch is you can't accept the advertised specials, i.e., buy one frame get one free, that they offer to everyone. You cant stack discounts for non-insurance clients and insurance benefits. You either get the advertised special or use your insurance benefits. They have many frames for women, men, and children. They don't carry Gucci, channel, or Prada but have Ray-Ban, Calvin Klein, Coach, Nine West, Kate Spade, Longchamp, and more. I also really like their return/exchange policy it's 100 days! Sometimes I have buyer's remorse, and it's nice shopping somewhere that allows you to try out frames and return them if you need to. read more

I came to this location a couple of weeks ago to get my eyes checked. When I came then, there team and doctor was amazing. Today I came back to pickup my glasses, when I went leave, my Jeep broke down. Without asking any questions, the team and doctor let my family sit in the lobby for 3 hrs waiting on a tow truck. Then did not ask any questions and were so nice to let us ( my little girl) to sit in the air conditioned lobby. Thank you so much and very much appreciated. Waste of time. They asked to look at my insurance card before they made an appointment. When I showed up for my appointment a week later, they refused me saying they don't take my insurance. The receptionist said she tried leaving me a voicemail, the voicemail only said they were verifying the appointment, nothing about an insurance issue. I was at work, so I didn't call back. This was my first time coming to this location and I was beyond pleased with the staff here. I felt welcomed from start to finish! Not only were the front of the store employees nice but the Doctor himself was warm. And it was very obvious that he cared about every patient. Was there to get new glasses picked out a pair $ 69.95 . The person helping me said" oh these are the wrong price they're $99.95 and ripped the price tag off. I bought them anyway ....just wanted out of there....total $399...said be ready in about 2 weeks.....went back to pick them up....saw the same frames $69.95 what a rip.....went home after I'd been there the first time went on Zenni and got better glasses at $89.00 total with shipping that arrived sooner too! read more

Eye doctor very friendly. Staff friendly. I went in to get my annual exam and sunglasses. I was only going to go in and purchase what my insurance allowed. $10 co-payment for exam $10 copayment for frames and lenses. I have never had a problem at an optometrist. Just gray lenses for sunglasses included and bifocals. They insisted I was only able to buy polarized lenses and those cost much more. I don't need upgrades. Just a standard sunglass frame and color lenses in which my insurance covers. I'll have to go somewhere else where mandatory upgrades are not necessary. read more

Beware of Tara the receptionist at the Doctor's office. I have Davis Vision Eye Insurace and she changed my husband and I a $35 co payment.each It was only supposed to be $10. I told her that we only wanted a eye exam and I never had to pay a $35 co payment. She said well your co payment is $35. Never explaining that she took it upon herself to put us down to get our eyes Dilated from the new machine they have now. I even told her we DONOT want to have our eyes dilated. Its sad that during these hard times people are trying to take advantage and adding on services that we did not want or need. Dr Williams was really professional and it is really sad how Tara ruined that by changing us $50 more then we should have been charged.I wish that we walked out like I wanted to but I really needed to get a eye exam because mine has expired and I lost my eye glasses. read more

This is an excellent location! I was here on June 21 and saw Dr. Mavrofrides. She was friendly, kind, and knowledge with great soft skills. I purchased my contacts and glasses from an equally nice person I do not recall her name, but she is originally from Poland and has worked at Visionworks for a very long time. She was super friendly and very helpful! Today I went in to pick up my glasses and Jason assisted me. He was another friendly and helpful person! All around great experience here! I don't know why this location has so many stars. This dr sucks . Took a eye exam had to come back 4 days later cause my contacts were blurry. Adjusted the contacts to the correct prescription and was told that the new prescription would be order. I come back pick up the prescription and spoke with a ginger fellow with a goat tee and was ensured this would be the correct prescription. Well come to find out they order the wrong prescription and asked for another $25 copay to see the dr. Saying tHat I never came back for a follow up and the prescription was not finalized. Which there was no mention of coming back to finalize anything. Which makes no sense why would I want the original order for blurry contacts. First and last time using vision works read more

I have been going to Visiomworks for about 3 years. This year I wanted contact (bifocals) and I had done online research and viewed videos of others w/contacts but I was still skeptical. I had an appt w/new doctor Dr. B Yit. Well first off the Nurse that does the exam was just wonderful. She answered my question and was just awesome! Then Dr. Yit. He is just the coolest professional eye Doc I have ever!! EVER met. He listened, examined my eyes and come to find out after about 10 years of wearing bifocals I did not even need them! I was just overjoyed. Dr Yit and the staff at Alafaya office is just awesome. Even the staff helps you pick out glasses and take time to explain everything. After trying some of the area boutique optical places and finding limited selections and no service, we ended up at Vision works where we had a great selecting of frames, wonderful one on one service while making frame selections, and the frame we wanted was on clearance too! I went here to set up an appointment to get my eyes checked! After them telling me my insurance wasn't excepted, I was still going to pay to get my exam there! That was u til after I stated that I feel like I'm going blind and I haven't had my eyes checked in a year! This dark haired lady who I wasn't speaking to decided to put her input in! She said yes that can happen when u are pregnant or just had a baby! As she rubbed her tummy! The part that upset me is, I'm not pregnant nor have I had a child in over 13 years! I was stuck and didn't no what to say! I just gave her a half smile and turned to the blonde haired lady and asked where my insurance was excepted and she politely told me of a different eye glass place! I think it's very rude to assume someone is pregnant or just had a baby! The reason it got one star was because the blonde haired lady was very nice! I ended up sitting in my car crying because I'm currently on a weight lose journey and had just recovered from a stomach surgery! And I don't think I look pregnant at all! I would not recommend using the independent optometrist at this location, Mr. Keast. I had to bring my glasses back three times for corrections to the lenses due to an inaccurate prescription. Mr. Keast was quite condescending and dismissive of the fact that I needed my prescription reviewed because it was causing headaches. He was clearly annoyed and completely unprofessional. I am very happy with the customer service I received from Vision Works. They answered all my questions and the lady was very patient with me, teaching me how to put my contacts in and out. I was very nervous to go poke my eye but she explained things smoothly & I did it eventually. I really like how they attend you very fast, traffic is horrible on Colonial but definitely worth the drive. I didn't get glasses so I can't comment on anything about that. read more

The Staff at visionworks is very friendly and helpful. The doctor who did my eye exam was very humorous and approachable. The gentleman who helped us with the glasses orders (Herminio I think) was very personable and seemed to really enjoy working there and helping his customers. I took away one star for two reasons. I called a couple of times to talk to the doctor and was kept waiting for at least 10 minutes (I hung up at that point). I understand that it can get pretty hectic and busy though, but I don't know how common this problem is for other customers, that's worth half a star. The other half is based on the products they have. I really liked the glasses I got. However, I do think that they are a bit pricey and they are lacking in variety in the latest trends in frames. Many customers looking for trendy and fashionable frames might be disappointed by the options available. Overall though, if you don't mind the price, the options, and you don't have to talk to the doctor on the phone, I definitely recommend this place for quality service and a pleasurable experience. read more
