I tend to give businesses I respect pretty high ratings - I just wish I could give is business more than 5 stars. I have always had issues with my company's issued insurance and have very few opportunities to take advantage of it. David was adamant about saving me money and HE DID!! I have never felt like a business was SO on my side. Dr. Yunus was patient and did not rush me for one moment of the exam. Honestly, I have left some appointments feeling confused and wondering if I really got what was best. She told me to relax and take my time and was SUPER helpful and congenial. She has one of the BEST bedside manners I have ever encountered. What makes this more impressive to me is that the whole team seemed happy to be there. Happy to be working and happy to help me! Appointment scheduling was easy with quick appointment dates and flexibility. Eye doctors staff was very professional and nice. Eye Doctor was amazing. I wasn't impressed with the selection of glasses or the front sales staff. I feel like the front is geared towards sales. The front sales person took my script and my daughters while clearly waiting for there main representative to finish up with a sale when I made it clear that we would come back if we were interested in lenses. When they realized they didn't have a sale. The personable attitude quickly changed to dismissive. Additionally i found it extremely rude for the employee to take a telephone call while checking us out. Then all together forgetting we were there. read more

I am new to Central Florida I am from South Florida. I have these expensive glasses that I purchased from Pal Beach and got suckered into buying such fragile frames. I constantly had to bring them in to get fixed over there back then so here I couldn't find anyone. I walked into Eyeglass world and wow. The young girl in front was amazing fixed them enough to be able to wear $800 pair of glasses , I do not and will not wear these everyday anymore only to go out, but thank you thank you. She was amazing and great greetings by everyone in the store when i walked in and fast service unlike back home i would have to wait a week for my glasses to get repaired. At my appointment the doctor told me my eyes were not half as bad as they used to be. It didn't seem right,I asked if he's sure but he's the doctor. Set an appointment for 11/8 at 5:30. Received two text messages saying that I "have an appointment." When I arrived at 5:38, I was rudely greeted by an employee with purple streaks in her hair who proceeded to inform me that because I never called or texted to "confirm" my appointment, it has been cancelled and the doctor is gone. She then went on to lie and claim that since Covid any doctors appointment requires confirmation. I informed her that I had an appointment with a doctor earlier today who did not do that, to which she replied that I was "15 min late anyways" (I was only 8 min late at the time). Needless to say I will not be back, unfortunate because the doctor seemed really nice the first time I was there and as did her assistants. I won't be getting my glasses here again. I've purchased 3 pairs here over the past 3 years and they've messed up the prescription every time in the same way. It took me an entire month to receive my glasses all 3 times due to sheer negligence, or perhaps sheer incompetence at this point. After paying over $300 for a pair of glasses, you'd think they'd give a damn about getting your prescription right, but clearly that's not the case. -2018- EGW: You need a prism in your right lens, but it's too large to make in house, so we need to send it to an outside facility to make it. Me: Ok, that's fine. See you in 2 weeks. 2 weeks later EGW: Ok, here are your new glasses. Try them on and see how they are. Me: Um... I'm getting double vision with these. Are you sure they put the prism in the lens? EGW: Yes the prism is in the lens, it says so right here on the prescription. Me: Could you check somehow, cause this is exactly what I see when I have no prism. EGW: Well okay, we'll check... ... ... I'm very sorry, but it looks like the lab completely forgot to add a prism into your lens. We're going to have to send it back out and it's going to take another 2 weeks. Me: Ok, mistakes happen. I'll see you in 2 weeks then. -2019- EGW: You need a prism in your right lens, but it's too large to make in house, so we need to send it to an outside facility to make it. Me: Ok, that's fine. But, this time could you add a note with the prescription to make sure they include the prism? Last time they forgot it entirely and I had to wait an entire month to get my glasses. EGW: Oh, really? Well it's written right here on your prescription, so I'm sure they'll come in just fine. Me: ... Okay then. I'll see you in 2 weeks. 2 weeks later EGW: Ok, here are your new glasses. Try them on and see how they feel. Me: ... Ok... I have double vision... this same exact thing happened last year. The entire reason you sent the glasses away for 2 weeks was to put a prism in the lens... and they sent the glasses back without a prism in the lens. EGW: Are you sure, sir? It says right here on the prescription there's a prism in the lens, so there should be one in there. Me: Yeeeah, I'm pretty sure, considering I'm seeing double and this lens isn't anywhere thick enough to have a prism in it. EGW: Ok, well let me bring it in back and we'll check it... ... ... Okay, sir, it looks like what happened is we sent the prescription out to get a prism in the lens, but it seems they forgot. Me: Again? How? It's written right there on the prescription... EGW: I'm not sure, sir. We're going to have to send it back out, and it's going to be another 2 weeks. Me: Great... see you in 2 weeks... -2020- EGW: Ok, your eyes have gotten a little worse and we're going to need to put a slightly larger prism in your lens. Unfortunately, we're going to have to send them out to a lab to get them made and it's going to take about 2 weeks. Me: Okay, that's fine, I expected that. But, please do me a big favor. The past 2 times I got glasses here, they had to be sent away to have the lenses made, and both times they came back without a prism and it took an entire month for me to receive them. Can you add a note or something to have them make absolutely sure they add the prism into the lenses this time? EGW: Oh, that's strange. Well, we have a note right here on your prescription with the exact strength of the necessary prism. I don't know how they could miss it. Me: Are you absolutely sure? EGW: Yes, it's written right here, sir. Me: Okay... well... I'll see you in 2 weeks. 2 weeks later EGW: Okay, here are your new glasses. Try them on and see if everything looks alright. Me: You've gotta be kidding me... I can't believe this... there's no prism in these lenses... how can this possibly happen 3 times in a row? EGW: Are you sure? It says right here on the prescription that there's a prism in the lens! Me: Yes. I'm sure. Please check them. EGW: Well, looking at them in here, there's definitely a prism in the lens. Me: Can you check to see if it's the right strength, 'cause I'm definitely getting double vision with these. EGW: Well, okay we'll need to take them in the back to check... ... ... well, there's definitely a prism in the lens. Unfortunately, it looks like they put a prism with a strength of 2.0 instead of 4.0 into your lens. We're going to have to send it back and it's going to take another 2 weeks. Me: Great! Should've guessed! Welp, that's 3 for 3. Guess I'll see you in 2 weeks... again... Do not buy glasses from eyeglass world, especially if they can't make your lenses in house. I am unhappy , I was given a change in contact script and told if the increase strength did not work due to the mono vision , just return the unopened boxes and I will be given my previous script. When I returned I was kept waiting almost an hour .Then was told they would not honor their commitment unless I had a re-exam. This is less than 7 months since the last exam. Especially with the COVID stay at home orders etc I did not go back right away and continued to try the contacts think it may just need more time to adjust. I needed an extra pair of glasses. Walked in, picked out a pair $78, and went to the counter to ask how to check out. I already had my prescription with me. The guy said everything is buy one get one free so pick out another pair. Ok, it took five min to get another pair. $99. And I went back to the guy. He said to sit at a desk and someone would be with me in a min. A min turned into about twenty and no one came. Finally, I snagged a woman who was about to help some other people (who just walked in) and she came to help. She was very nice and helpful. I told her I needed the glasses today and she said that was not possible as the lab was busy. (Three hours till closing time) I conveyed my frustration with the long wait and stated that someone should have told me when I arrived that getting glasses made would not be possible today. She went to speak to the manager? And a few min later she said yes, they could do it. Great. My eye measurements were taken, I paid the $99 price (no tax) and was told to come back in two hours. I returned, my glasses were waiting on the shelf. Someone fitted them both to my face, adjusted them and off I went. Easy peasy. I only wanted the basic lenses, no upgrades and they were fine. Still thin and fit the frames well. They did have more expensive frames and designer options, but I usually wear contacts and only wanted the glasses for around the house so the cheaper selection was just fine. ( I was tempted to try on some designer frames but they are all locked in and since there was no one to help me get them out, I just picked the easy to try on unlocked options. Sept 2019- I'm done. Went back to replace a scratched lens. Was told it was "illegal" to get the prescription off of the glasses and needed a whole new eye exam. Total BS! Not coming back again. read more

I needed new prescriptions for my glasses and a pair of sunglasses asap. Since they were one of the few businesses in town who advertised same day service, I decide to give them a chance. All of the attendants were really nice and professional and everyone tried to work in a timely manner. What annoyed me most was the fact they cut out my lenses soooo poorly and tried to blame it on the machine needing to be recalibrated. They told me they would recut them by sending my glasses in which would take 2wks and they would do the sunglasses in house again. When both pairs were ready, I went to pick them up and unsurprisingly, the sunglasses which were done in house were still cut poorly. When I brought it to their attention, they told me it was supposed to look like that because of the tint of the glasses which is absolutely not true. I have another pair of prescription sunglasses cut by a competitor and it doesn't look anything as poorly as what these guys did. I took my glasses home because I was just frustrated and honestly didn't trust them to fix it a third time. I am including a picture to show the huge groove between the lens and the frame. I went in for a contact lens fitting and the doctor ( who was an hour late for my scheduled appointment) told me she would have to order my lenses since they didn't have any in stock and they would call me when the lenses came in---about 7-10 days. Well, 2 weeks later there was still no call and so I called them to follow up. The manger took my phone number and said he would follow up and call me back. Never received a call back from him. I called the store AGAIN at the 6 week mark, was put on hold for 15 minutes and the manger takes my number again and says he will look into it and call me back. It's been a week since I called them and he still hasn't followed up. A shame that I wasted money on a contact lens fitting and never received the contacts that they were supposed to have ordered. I'm done trying to chase down these unprofessional people. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I'll never return. read more

I was in there, did the eye exam, spent a lot of time looking for frames etc. Found some frames - the tall woman who works there refused to give me a printed itemization of the cost. I walked out. I found out afterwards, that she would have overcharged me as there was a way of structuring the charges so that I would have paid about $40 less. Another place got my business. I've purchased three pairs of glasses and one pair of sunglasses here. If you're considering cost, it's easy to get sucked into their 2 for $78 or 2 for $99 deals and later get offended how easily your total can increase due to upgrades. Last year I purchased a pair of $130 frames and $100 sunglasses with a buy one get one free promotion. My total quickly turned into $380 after factoring in additions like anti-glare, tinting for the sunglasses, anti-scratch and a one year warranty on both. I still go to their independent optometrist (located in the rear of the store), Gulf Coast Optometry, but have decided to take my eyeglass business elsewhere due to steep upgrade prices. read more

I almost fell out of the chair I was sitting in. Then I was told I could get the cheap Plastic lenses for $200.00 less. Now it's $398.00. They overcharged me for my exam, and couldn't make it right, right on the spot. I was given a phone number to call and handle this myself. I didn't have enough battery power to wait on hold, so that is still unresolved. Staff in the eyeglass fitting area were rude and there was no sense of reason as to who was helped when. I just wanted to pick up my glasses, but the wait was so long that I had to leave. I don't know when I will have that kind of time to get back there again and pick them up, or if I can make an appointment to avoid another lengthy wait. To NHC (for Eyeglass World in Tampa) Date- 8/3/2020 Acct# XXXXX 877-313-4138 I am writing to let you know that I am submitting payment of $75.00 since you have sent me a bill for the first time 6 weeks ago and it was from a collection agency of which I had no idea what this was in reference to since I do not owe anyone anything. I called the number listed on the letter and spoke to a gentleman explaining I have no idea what this is for. He helped me to understand it was from a service in 2018 from eyeglass World in Tampa. I did buy 2 pairs of glasses, paid insurance co-pay for exam and never received a bill or an EOB of a denied claim. I explained that since this is 2 years out, I would like an accounting of what this service is and how I am displeased that this would go into collection before a bill was ever sent. He explained the Eyeglass world had a recent transition of their billing services and they would definitely get back to me but since COVID, to be patient as it may take a few weeks. No one called me or emailed me any information, but I did a get another bill from the collection agency. Horrible customer service. I am in healthcare and as a first responder, I cannot use COVID for a cover for bad service or unethical billing practices. I will certainly never do business with eyeglass world again so take this as a word of advise, you are a disappointment and your services to resolve questions of suspicious billing practices are seriously deficient. I never do reviews but I HAD to do one because I had the most WONDERFUL experience here. I feel awful for not remember his name, (Matt or mark?)was AMAZING. I went on the 25th of November for an eye exam. I made the appointment online and was able to make it for the same day. I am new to the glasses world so everything was new to me. HE was so helpful with explaining everything as far as the forms, the tests they were doing, etc. The next day, on the 26th, I came back to pick out frames and get my prescription lenses. The same man was there and Was so nice. He helped me very well through the whole process while also making good conversation. He actually picked out glasses for me to try on that he thought would best fit my face (again I'm new to glasses so I didn't know anything) I cannot say enough about how kind this man was, and how much I appreciate him. STAY AWAY. THEY WOULD LOST/STEAL YOUR MONEY. The lost my frames and did not provide any refund. Two weeks ago, I order three glasses and paid over $1000. After two weeks, they lost one of my Bose frames. After I canceled my order, I request the worth of the frames that I tool to the store since I have only paid for the prescription. The manager said that I should be thankful because he provide me with the refund. However, the value of the sunglasses I provided was not refunded. I got a pair of eyeglasses at Eyeglass World on East Colonial Drive. When I picked them up, and tried them on, the fit was horrible. The vision was bad as well. I kept taking them back to realign them. I took those glasses back to them at least 5 times, and I never got them back correct. I just gave up. The fit was too tight, and they fit crooked on my face. They were uneven, and just horrible. They were so blurry too, but the tech told me that was normal. What? Blurry glasses are normal? Stay far away from this place! I called ahead and made arrangements to get an exam and glasses and the manager said they accepted my insurance, i went in, had the exam, picked out glasses and then when the bill comes the assistant manager tells me that they dont accept my insurance. She said we take all insurance but some you cant use? So i said you dont accept my insurance then, It was totally a waste of my time to go there for nothing. I took my prescription and left.
