Manager Shaunna was so incredibly rude today. I walked in and let her know I thought the wrong contact lens brand was ordered and she had an attitude immediately. She basically tried to correct my understanding as quick as possible then pass me off to another employee even though I was just feeling anxious and needing to ask a question about how the delivery of the lenses would work. I then ultimately started to ask the other employee my question and she tried to insert herself back in the conversation even though she already had tried to get rid of dealing with me. She had a lot of eye rolls and frustrated tone in her voice to the point I held my hand up to try to stop her from trying to interact with me. I let her know she looked frustrated and I would ask the other employee my question. She may have felt like she was repeating herself but I just was trying to understand if I got what she had originally said. I was anxious and really had never been a customer at Visionworks before but my company is incredibly cheap and treats us employees like peasants so I ended up only be able to use my vision benefits here... at the end of the day there is no reason she had to be this irritated in this situation. It's not my fault you deal with such a high Medicaid patient volume (as you noted previously to me).. I'm a customer/patient just trying to understand things, it was not my fault you were in a bad mood or you took something I said the wrong way, be accountable and don't take whatever is bugging you out on me. Be better at politely answering and having some grace. It was SO clear she woke up on the wrong side of the bed today, she shouldn't have been this annoyed from the start of the interaction as she was...I hope she finds a job that makes her feel less stressed out. She owes me an apology but I'll take just never going back there again and seeing her miserable face. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. They made my glasses wrong. I went back and it took them at least an hour and a half to figure out what they needed moving forward. Then about 3 weeks later I get a call that they had a system failure and the notes for my script was erased. They never even made my glasses!! Asking for full refund hoping at least that can be complete that correctly since it went through insurance. Stay away awful service and glasses. read more

Just don't go here. Fortunately, I know my vision insurance benefits very well, so when the optician told me my total was $60 just for the exam, I knew he was wrong (I only have a materials copay). Then when he got confused, he tried to order my contacts, telling me it was $250. I just laughed at him until he sheepishly handed my file to someone competent at the front desk, where he calculated my actual, correct total with insurance. Crazy, could have been a huge ripoff. I had a horrible experience here on 12/22/22. First they could not locate my records from past visits. Then after my exam I had to wait over an hour for my eyeglass prescription. They still could not find the contacts prescription. I called and requested it twice and was told it would be mailed. It never was I went in to get it and they told me there was no contact prescription but then printed one that was incorrect. They also referred me to an ophthalmologist. I asked them to send my records. I called to make sure. They did not. I asked for a refund. No response. read more

If I could give a negative five stars (-5) I would have done just that! My contact lens eye exam was in December 2022, and from the moment I walked in the door, I remembered why I stopped doing business with this company. You are barely greeted by someone with a grimacing face. Then you wait to be finally called in for an exam but in the meantime you have someone attempting to sell you an additional type of exam. I finally get the exam and I'm given two sets of trials. When I arrived home and inspected the boxes, one set expired in 2020 and the other set were two mono vision lenses. BTW, I've worn multi focal lenses for years. After calling several times, and being placed on hold for 28-34 minutes each time, I decided to show up to the store. I finally met with another optometrist who reexamined my eyes and then told me that I had to wait for trials because they had to order them. By now it's February and I still don't have a prescription. Do I called to check on the trials and when I expressed me frustration, with not having what both my insurance and I paid for, I was told by the person on the phone that she's been working 12 hours a day for six days per week... that's when I stopped her an politely told her that she should never do that to a customer. And that it was a personal problem she needed to take up with management. Finally, on February 18, I went in and was given a prescription, that GUESS WHAT? It does not work! I am beyond frustrated and livid! Three months into this saga, and I still haven't received a proper prescription nor do I have contacts!!! read more

Worst customer service! Even with excellent insurance two pair of glasses cost more than $600.00 and they weren't made right. I went elsewhere after struggling to get then fixed- They wouldn't make an appointment when the was a problem and said just come in. After a long wait- even when they weren't busy, they said the doctor had to leave early-- ok 3 times?!! One lens was not at the correct position for the eye- I was told by another doctor. I was getting headaches and dizziness. Really bad place!! - University location--don't know about the rest but I think they are franchise- Lenscrafter is not-- I'll trying then now.i was stuck with a frustrating experience with this store all year. The company comment that they would look into the matter was disingenuous. There were several visits that I made for the problem to be managed. There was no customers in the store and four employees, yet they had me sit around for ten minutes before offering assistance. On two occasions during regular business hours (and I had called in advance to check that the concern I had could be managed) I arrived and the person that was supposed to help had gone early. I could see one time-- but Twice? Avoid this place - it was a waste of money and time and hurt my eyes. read more

Walking in here ruined my day. First I walked in, music was blaring "yeah!" By Usher. It was overstimulating and I was automatically turned off. Before I stepped into the doors to ask for a mask I was yelled at by the manager who you can tell - the best part of his day is to yell at people about masks. I was in there for 4 minutes and he did it to another woman who was just trying to see if she liked the glasses she was trying on before purchasing them. Then, I was running late, and tried to call a head to tell them but you can't get a hold of anyone in the store. You must talk to the robot. They wouldn't see me after being 7 minutes late. Everyone in there was useless, unhelpful. Slow moving and rude. I literally could not have hated this place more. Never again. read more

Looks like there's new management/new employees since the last time some of these reviews were left. The store was busy, but all I had to do was sit at the front (row of chairs), and wait for someone in Customer Service to be available. They check you in, scan your insurance, and then conduct your exams, let you shop for glasses, etc. Shaunna and De'Vante were extremely helpful. They walked me through everything, talked me through what my insurance covers, and discussed the cost with me. They made the process relatively painless. read more

I always have a good experience at the Westwood store. I saw Shaunna recently. She was very attentive and fixed three pairs of glasses for me within a short amount of time. Paying attention to every detail and fit. She was very professional and pleasant to work with. read more

The eye exam was outstanding. Probably been to the optometrist 20-25 times in my life. Dr. Kupsc was the most informative and helpful optometrist I've seen, he smart, explains everything as he's doing and is very nice. The staff was very nice too. However, I walked away from selecting my glasses feeling like I was taken. The free second pair that I was told went with my insurance, was not the xase. In fact it caused me to spend more. Also, the add a number of features on but dont itemize them when they show you the bill. I found out he'd shown me cost if frames and lenses, but he added multiple extras to the lens that were optional and not shown. Okay, sales techniques might be a little questionable. Also the glasses cases are prtty cheap. But the kicker was when I picked up my glasses. I notice an optician had left a smudge on the lens but there were no lens cleaning cloths with the glasses. I asked if they had forgotten them. I was told no, but you can buy them from uz if you'd like I just dropped $330 here but I have to pay extra for a 3" piece of cloth? NEVER seen that anywhere. I wish there was less than a star to give a particular staff - Andrew L. He was so rough and hated his job to the extent that he was snapping at everyone including other employees. Vision work needs to provide him some training in how to provide a descent customer service. He close to shouted at the two employees in the few minutes I was there and really wanted to directly call visionworks leadership to let them know that this staff member is not only mistreating your customers but his own staff. Iam sure if you ask the employees they will tell you the same. He is one of the worst sales people I have met in my life and shouldn't be working in a company I have had my glasses done at for past 10 years. During COVID we should have some empathy with each other. I show up for a scheduled appointment after waiting 6 weeks and the doctor comes out after having me wait for 20 mins to say that he can't see me because I have my kid with me sleep in a stroller. The most disrespectful thing is he said "can't you just ask the other parent to watch her" You stupid fuck she is in foster care so their is no other parent. This chain will NEVER get my business. I was greeted by Andrew in a most unfriendly manner. This is my 2nd less than satisfying experience with this person. I put on a mask as requested but then said I needed to keep the mask on even when trying on glasses. I told him I could not tell how the glasses looked unless I took off the mask briefly. There was no other customers in the store at the time. He told me it was a mandate and I must keep it on. He then said "you can leave" He escorted me to the door. This man is arrogant and rude. Anyway the Dr. came and got me quick eye exam all good. Then Andrew took care of me he was great fast, friendly, funny, and efficient. So disappointed! I was really looking forward to my eye appointment. A friend recommended the eye doctor. The moment I walked into the store the person at the desk was rude. I realized I would not want to work with him to pick out glasses. So, I canceled the appointment with the doctor. The person at the desk, had printed out a page with my personal information. After I left the store, I went back to see what would happen to the page with my personal info. It was left lying on the counter where others could see. I think that is a violation of privacy laws. I'm upset that this person has access to my personal info. So disappointed! My partner has cancer & for months, we have lived through the unknown. Today, I took time off work, for me. I was looking forward to the eye exam with the dr. that my friend recommended & then buying glasses. read more

Stay away! How is this particular location still operating? Why doesn't customer service do something with all the negative reviews?? I wish I read the reviews 1st before making an appointment. I ended up walking out. There's a front desk, how about letting the nice lady at the front desk greet and check your customers instead of what I think was the manager yelling across the room to take a seat. My mom went in to go get my glasses fixed and the staff gave her attitude and asked when they were bought, and claimed they couldn't fix the glasses claiming they were "clearly over-bent". Then the guy told her to "use a bit of glue but it's not guaranteed they would stay together" ... seriously? Then what's the point of even gluing the glasses if it's guaranteed to break? She came to you guys for a reason and regardless of how old the glasses are (which they were about 2 years old, so they were fairly new) it should be able to be fixed, and it just looks like the business itself is lazy and doesn't care about their customers. If it had something to do with a COVID protocol, you should have just told her instead of treating her the way you did. Disappointed. Show some respect. read more

Wow where to begin. I called the morning of my appointment and gave them all of my insurance info. Of course when I got there my info was scribbled on a tiny piece of paper and not entered into the system. The poor woman working at the desk had to quickly get it in because Her co worker Patrick was extremely flustered and rude to her. Patrick couldn't stop slamming his mouse down or slamming papers, all in front of customers. After my exam Patrick grudgingly tried to pull up my insurance info to see what was covered. After insulting my insurance company for "hardly covering anything" "very little" after a certain amount, I asked if only one pair of glasses was covered and he again started with the slamming of the mouse and paperwork trying to figure it out. It was almost as if I shouldn't have asked about anything and how dare I. Finally after calling another store, he said he has no idea. I asked if I could pick a pair now and maybe come back once we've figured it out and he cut me off short and rudely stated "well if we owe ya we owe ya!" After he half ass explained to me which glasses I could pick from like the "no name generic pairs with nuttin on em" I had to ask another employee for help, which ended up being another long drawn out process of having to pick ANOTHER pair because the computer kept saying I owed money that I shouldn't have. All while having my 2 young children in tow. The employees can't figure out the computers and Patrick doesn't belong in a job where he needs to speak to other human beings. I called the Westwood store and after a series of computer generated messages, was told to call the store. i just did! More computer nonsense and now I' m on hold for 15 minutes waiting for someone to pick up the phone at the Westwood store. Very unpleasant! I showed up for my appointment at 1155am (5mins) early because I work across the street and the doors were locked, I then left and called and no one answered until 1230. I asked we're they closed cuz when I showed up for my appointment the doors where locked and the person that answered the phone proceeded to say no I've been here since 11:45 (5mins) before me and keep saying no no no the doors weren't locked I've been sitting here at the front, I asked the person whom answered the phone will I still be able to attend my appointment and they proceeded to say umm well .. the doctor isn't here yet and or if at all coming ... very unprofessional! I booked online because online was available. If the doctor wasn't and or doesn't plan to show appointments shouldn't be available. Thanks ! I guess I will go to the Quincy office !! Wow, I'm shocked at some of these negative reviews below because I would give TEN stars if I could to this practice!!! I had an appointment on February 5th 2021. The appointment was easy to schedule online and followed up with confirmation. I had scheduled the appointment as an annual check-up, specifically because I was having lots of eye trouble that seemed to be related to my overuse of the computer screen since working from home due to Covid. At any rate, the office staff was wonderful when I walked in and followed sanitation safety protocol, asking me to use sanitize. Everyone was in masks. The office was not crowded. My visit was with Dr. Robert Kupsc and he was wonderful!!!! He explained everything he was doing as he was doing it. I expressed my concerns with my eye strain. He went above and beyond to ensure he thoroughly vetted and explained what he believed was happening, ruling out any possibility of things like Glaucoma through tests. He made me feel comfortable and informed about everything. I am a bit anxious by nature and typically can be a bit of a hypochondriac but I was SHOCKED when I walked out of his office feeling 100% relieved that my eye strain and tearing was not due to a tumor (like I said, a bit of a hypochondriac) and was actually just exhaustion and astigmatism in each eye. He recommended glasses to help offset, which the staff was more than helpful in selecting! I was told about all promotions, giving me the opportunity to select a nice pair of glasses for little cost. Calvin Klein happened to be having a promo with my insurance where up to $200 was covered! I found a pair of glasses that I loved and, after including scratch-resistance, glare resistance, blue light blocking, they came to about $50!!!! What a steal!!! They came about a week and a half later and I quickly and easily picked them up at the store after receiving a text. In the past week or so since wearing my glasses my eye issues have diminished incredibly!! I feel so fortunate to have found this practice and Dr. Kupsc, who made this process easy, safe, and comfortable. I have been raving to all of my friends who have complimented my new glasses. Thank you VisionWorks at University Station for the A++ experience!! I will be back. read more

Yikes. Plus side: I got an appointment fast. The doctor was friendly. Downside: Took a long time even with only one other person in the store! The glasses salesperson didn't explain things well and seemed bothered by having to do anything. They also didn't call me when my glasses came in- I found out through checking in myself. It's similar to every other medical appointment you've had that didn't value your time. If you're in dire need, you can get in fast but don't expect top quality service. read more
