I found myself in a real jam. I work in the health field and through this pandemic have to wear PPE. My eyes are complicated. I've had 3 surgeries and have worn glasses since I was 4. Wearing the mask, my prescription glasses AND goggles or a face shield over my glasses was making me nauseas and dizzy. I decided to invest in prescription goggles. I needed them fast. I already had to take four days off without pay and wanted to get back ASAP. The Manager Erin of For Eyes in Norwood, was extremely helpful. She was sympathetic and understanding to my situation. I wish I could remember the young man who works with Erin. He called her his mentor and I have to say she is doing an outstanding job training him. The customer service was exemplary all around. I received text updates while I waited and when the goggles came in, an immediate phone call. I am probably one of your oldest clients. On Saturday, he helped me find just the right frames (and on clearance too!) to replace a pair of frames I didn't care for and was able to pop my lenses into the new frames and saved me money. I can now enjoy those glasses. He also helped my boyfriend to order two pairs of glasses that he is very happy with. His staff member Emily is very pleasant and has been very helpful to me. Finally accepted the fact that my eyes are trash and I need better glasses than the readers I've been using. Went here today and got exam done $100 for the exam without insurance. Not bad. Due to my script I couldn't do the 2 for 99 special but still got 2 pair for 298 with everything I needed. They were all friendly and easy to work with. I'll keep using them. Thanks For Eyes Update: Had a problem with my glasses. The prescription was not quite right. I went back to them and explained the situation. He retested me and adjusted the script. I went there order glasses today and was immediately approached by a wonderful woman named Lydia. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in pointing me in the right direction to pick out my frames and even gave me her opinions on fashion tips which was great. I ordered progressives and a second pair of brand named sunglasses and I was taken aback by the final price. I have never paid that low of a price for glasses anywhere else in the past and I have gone to three other places for glasses in the past. Okay - so there comes a time when you have to bite the bullet and go to the eye doctor. The headaches and squinting are just getting out of hand. I finally made the choice to just suck it up and go. I heard amazing things both on Facebook and Yelp about this location - it is convenient for me and has weekend eye doctor appointments (SCORE). So I gave them a call and booked the appointment (finding out you can also book online - double SCORE). The person who took my info on the phone was super sweet and informative and I was really looking forward to my experience here only based on my initial phone call - that is a big deal to already leave such an impression and I had not even been there yet! It came to the day of my appt. and I was very nervous. The staff there are some of the NICEST people. I felt immediately comfortable there and my nerves were at ease. Doctor Modderno was so thorough, kind and explained everything to me in terms I would understand. He listened intently to what I had to say and also put my mind at ease about concerns I had for my lifestyle change with needing glasses. Then when it came to choosing frames again the staff went above and beyond what I expected - not pushy at all to get me to buy more expensive frames, not pushy to make me choose something - I took my time and found a perfect pair. The staff here is top notch and I am so happy with my choice to come here. I will be making sure I come here for all my vision needs in the future, no need to explore anywhere else when the perfect place is right in my home town and works with my schedule. read more

Following cataract surgery I was given a new prescription( at a different optometrist (not ForEyes)). I went to ForEyes for new glasses. With the new glasses I had problems with vision in my right eye... ForeEyes willingly made adjustments to glasses... but the problem continued. In my next visit to ForEyes I was a little concerned I would end up in the "twilight zone" (it's not the glasses, it's the prescription.. or .. it's not the prescription it's the glasses). In my next visit to ForEyes I talked with Nathan Fraere... I pleasantly admit Nathan was very attentive, he went to great lengths in checking the glasses and prescription. He asked many questions, tried different optical lenses for trial testing, he even called the optometrists office... he was very interested in resolving the problem... and he did. After two more visits to the optometrist office a new prescription was issued... results... vision problem corrected. So... my sincere "thank you" to Nathan Fraere for "outstanding" customer service. read more

I got a bad vibe the minute I walked into this place. Saleswoman seemed slow to ask if I needed help then quick to send me off when I couldn't produce a prescription. Apparently the glasses I was wearing on my face weren't enough. They don't "neutralize" glasses at this location. After shoe-horning myself into an eye exam at my regular optometrist, I returned to For Eyes and ordered two pairs of glasses from what I consider the clearance rack. They really push that 2 for 99 crap but don't offer much to choose from. The third visit was to pick up my cheapo backup glasses and it was the worst visit. The associate that retrieved my purchase seemed pissed he was forced to work for two minutes. Then pissed my 3 year old played with a store mirror for 60 seconds. I'll never go back to that location or probably any For Eyes location. read more

I've been to For Eyes a couple of times in the past year and the service can't be beat. Everyone is so courteous and there's one woman in particular who is incredibly helpful- Lydia. If you are lucky enough to have her wait on you, you will be so glad. She helped me pick out the perfect frames by giving me samples to try on and then let me know if they looked good or bad on me. I was given a eye exam on the same day and purchased two pairs of progressive eye glasses. I was treated professionally by Dr. Moddero and the staff. I recently had my 3rd eye exam at this location and all my interaction with the staff has been very pleasant. They are very prompt in providing you with an appointment, last time I needed an appointment I called on a Monday and I was able to get an appointment for that Friday. Dr. Modderno always addresses my concern at the appointment and he personally insists that I go in or contact the office if my issue is not resolved in a timely manner. The sales representatives have also been very helpful the two times I purchased new glasses. Overall, I have been very pleased with the services and have even referred co-workers to their office. read more

HORRIBLE PLACE, DON'T EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE. I can't tell you what happened to this place. I've gone here for a few years but, no longer. I placed an order for my 11 year old son and they said they would call me when they were ready. Three weeks later I called them. They told me there was an issue, they had to reorder and would call me. Two weeks later I called them again and they told me the glasses were in. When I went in to get the glasses, they pulled out the glasses and the lenses were a quarter of an inch thick. Their excuse was that they had changed vendor and that I should pick out a larger plastic frame to make the lenses look smaller. I told them I didn't want them, to which they said they would talk to the manager and get back to me on Monday. On Tuesday I called back and they told me, we don't supply those lenses any longer. I called my wife and told her to go down and get a refund. She went down and they offered to give her an upgrade to the thin lens. She called me and I said fine and they were going to call us. Three more weeks pass. Today is my son's 12 birthday and my wife called and was told the glasses were in. I drove back down and to no surprise, they had a completely different set of glasses. They were not even remotely similar. I immediately told them I wanted a refund. They told me that because I paid cash, they couldn't refund without the manager approval and he was not there. I told them to call the manager, who didn't answer the phone. Then I told them to have him call me tonight. They will be closing in 45 minutes and still no call back. Sorry for the language but, this place is a shit-show. read more

Shopping for glasses is never an easy task for me...I am very nearsighted, I don't wear contacts and I must constantly switch between my current glasses and the dozens of frames I try on. So I have to give high ranks to this For Eyes store for really spot on customer service from all and from staffer Lydia in particular. She exhibited nothing but professional behavior towards me and yet was personable and friendly at the same time. I had so many questions, real tight budget restraints, and a sinus headache! Lydia stayed with me and was so patient and respectful, plus, she gave great input not just about how frames looked or didn't look, but about the reasons why one was more suited for my strong prescription and progressive lenses than another. In the end I got two pairs and saved a significant chunk of change.(Poor kid, I asked her for every possible savings configuration including Groupon Deals). Here is another customer service test they passed with flying colors after the sale was made...I was reading and had taken my glasses off and put them beside me...I leaned the wrong way and snapped off one of the arms...just two weeks after purchase. I called the store and they said they would swap the lens into a replacement frame if it was in stock. I stopped in the next morning and they did just that...with a smile. I have had such contrary experiences lately with other retail establishments...so when I get such excellent service before they were even sure I was going to buy from them....well a good review is in order. Keep up the good work...and I'll be in for my refill of eye glass cleaner in the future.(If you buy a little bottle of eye glass cleaner spray they give free refills) Meanwhile, I am saving for my new sunglasses. read more
