Coming here because this place is in-network with my insurance & they're open on Saturdays! Their hours are convenient for those who are working M-F. Due to the pandemic, you are required to call and make an appointment, they will not let you in the building without one. Mask are required & sanitizer is spread out throughout the store. Now as far as service goes, the gentleman on the phone who made my appointment was not too friendly and seemed to be in a rush. Maybe they were busy, I get it. Day of my appointment, the one woman who was helping customers had me sit at the same desk as the people who just left (literally), so no sanitation of seating here. I wasn't able to get my glasses because my perception was on my phone. (They do not accept virtual perceptions) But you are allowed to get your prescription faxed to the store. I'm also getting lenses because I have frames I want to use. I think those two things turned the woman helping me off because once I said those things she got up gave me the card to get my prescription faxed & just started walking to the door (mind you I'm still sitting down at the desk) I had more questions to ask. So I got up asked her while she basically escorted me out the store. Then stopped at the door and started telling me more information. Ma'am! Why didn't we just go over all that when we were sitting down. Didn't ask if I had anymore questions or if there was something else she can help me with. I didn't feel like my services were wanted there. It's weird cause I received lenses for my frames here before (frames I did not buy with them again) and the experience was a lot different. I'm now re-thinking my decision and I might go some where else. They get a 3 star for the CDC regulations, but their customer service really needs some work. read more

After a terrible experience with my glasses purchase at another optician, I decided to give Visionworks another try. The experience was amazing, with Karen and Lili being so helpful. I ordered my glasses from Karen and she helped guide me with frames that fit my face. I went back several times and got really good service from Karen, Lili or one of the older gentlemen who worked there. However, when my glasses arrived I went in to pick them up and a woman who was new to me, took the glasses off my face and started bending them before I even had a chance to see if they fit. The next few times I went in I asked for Karen or Lili. Neither of them work there anymore. The only 2 people who worked there were Jordan and the aforementioned woman. Jordan constantly made inappropriate remarks when I would come in and was never able to adjust my glasses properly. I finally blew up at him over the inappropriate remarks and told him I did not appreciate his remarks and they were not appropriate in a workplace. I went to the Kernersville Visionworks and Jeff did an amazing job of adjusting the glasses that Jordan had bent all out of shape. Several months later I started to the Kernersville store and it was raining so hard that I decided to try the Winston-Salem store again. Jordan was there and tried to adjust my glasses and again screwed them up. A couple of days later I returned to the Kernersville store and was able to get my glasses adjusted properly. If I have any advice for the public at large, it would be to avoid the Winston-Salem store at all costs. read more

Same as it's always been. I have to say that I'm not too fond of the wait system though. There is no signage to point you to sign in, and most of the time you just hover around the desk. Not really enough waiting areas to sit if you don't want to browse glass frames. Also, when you order contacts and you need a case, you'll have to ask for it. They don't really give you one, and they use a manufacturer called "Excel" instead of what many people know: Boston/B&L, etc. If that manufacturer bothers ya, probably stay away. I don't know what it will take to have someone give me a call regarding thus company robbing my insurance company. You got paid for glasses I did not receive and you will not get back to me or reverse the charges. After my last post on Yelp you sent me an email asking for more information, I replied with the information and you said you will respond shortly THAT WAS 2 DAYS AGO Come on really are you that desperate for the insurance money that you can't reverse it or even give a response or phone call. Your company should be out of business the way you treat customers. read more

So, I tried calling to set up a time on a Saturday for my husband and myself to go (we live over an hour away), and get our frames adjusted. When you call the number, if you want to speak to an associate (which I did), press 2. Ok. Then no one answers, and it goes to a different menu, and if you don't hear any options that you want (none for actually wanting to speak to someone), then it states to either stay on the line, or select an option. It just keeps doing this, and then gives you the website info, which I already knew. No answer from anyone. I stayed on the line for almost 25 minutes waiting for an actual person. Basically, I got tired of waiting because I knew no one was going to answer. I called LensCrafters, phone was answered promptly, I asked a very nice girl named Rhonda about coming in, and she answered all my questions. Guess where we are going Saturday? I'll give you a hint.. It WONT be VisionWorks. read more

I have been buying glasses every 6 months to a year for the last 13 years for my daughter. I have bought eye glasses in a variety of locations. We decided to try Visionworks on Silas Creek because of their "Buy one, get one at no extra cost" sale, Again, I have purchased many pairs of glasses over the last 13 years. I once bought graded pair of bifocals for her for $350. Frames she chose were $169.00 The other pair were $139.00. There is supposed to e "no extra cost" for the second pair. Yes, I know the lenses contribute to the cost and drive it up. As I said, I have done this many times before. Two pair of glasses in this "Buy one, get one for no additional cost" - $638.00 One pair of glasses WITH a 40% off coupon - $382.00 It's a sales technique. They figure you won't walk out on the sale after spending an hour in the store picking out glasses. I don't like hidden fees are disreputable advertising. The sales clerk said: "This is what glasses cost" No, it isn't. I went down the street and bought a really nice pair of glasses for our daughter. $119.00. Lenses and frames guaranteed for 2 years. I also added Transition Lenses to them. I could buy THREE pair and lunch for what Visionworks wanted for ONE pair with a 40%off coupon. Don't listen to the hype. read more

Walked in today . Looked @frames for 40 minutes. No sign or no one told me to sign so finally after 45 minutes I figured it out on my own. Then a girl comes over with the enthusiasm of someone who just got out of bed, not very helpful in guidance with glasses that someone in that position should have given. I felt like I needed to leave so she could take a nap. Found glasses I was interested in but not unless someone else could be available to help me. Every question I ask her took an effort to answer Or did get answered.bad experience . Is there ever a time I could come in and by waited on by someone that could be more helpful that would be easier to understand. This lady would not even look at you when she talks to you. BEWARE!!! I have become increasingly disenchanted with Visionworks - I've been wearing the same glasses for going on three years now because both new pairs I've gotten - one pair 8 months ago and another pair a year before that I could never get adjusted properly. The pair from two years ago I thought I just had a wrong shape to the frames - I have extremely bad vision and my eyes are VERY sensitive. I tried to have glasses and sunglasses in the past - same frame, same prescription, made at the same time, etc. Could not switch between the two at all, it was the fuzzy "eyes getting adjusted to new glasses" EVERY time. Bleh. Usually takes me several hours adjusting to different glasses. Typically when I get new glasses I put the new ones on in the morning when I just get up, so nothing else has been "on" my eyes since the night before. Generally within a couple of hours I no longer have the "squinty" new glasses feeling I get. Anyway, I went back to my old pair year before last thinking it was a frame shape problem. The next time, 8 months ago, I got as close as I could get to the shape and size of my old frames. Unfortunately I had the same problem and after multiple trips to the store to get them adjusted I STILL cannot wear them. Oh, and if you are going to the store to get them adjusted, don't bother talking to the blond chick. She does a half asses job at best and you have to go back again. The best is the older gentleman with a goatee.... I think perhaps he's the manager. Oh, and if you want something like "roll and polish" on your glasses - check them before you leave. (Roll = grinding off the edges of very thick lenses around the outside. I am nearsighted so the edges are very thick and the middle very thin. With "rolling" they grind down the very outer edge so it isn't as noticeable. Polish = they polish the enter outside edge of the lens so it is completely clear. This helps minimize how much of the edge I can "see.") Time before last - nothing was done at all. Had to go back and they had done the polish but not the roll. After my THIRD trip they were finally correct. (Oh, and blondie tried to convince me on the second trip that they WERE rolled, like I can't tell the difference. Honey, I've been wearing coke bottle glasses for 20+ years - I KNOW WHAT I AM LOOKING AT!) This last time they were polished, but not rolled. Blondie just played dumb this time about what I was talking about and said I would have to come back to talk to the manager but he was on vacation. So I went back a couple of weeks later (which incidentally, is VERY difficult to manage with a handicapped mother I am primary caretaker of AND a busy full time job) to talk to the manager and he immediately got them taken care of. Of course I had to go back again, but oh well...... I had him do an adjustment (again) and I tried to wear these glasses, but unfortunately they just don't work. Back into the two + year old glasses. Oh well. So I was leaning against Visionworks this year because I am sick of glasses I can't wear, but at least my husband's glasses are fine. Well, WERE fine. Final straw for Visionworks: 8 month old glasses, frame broke while they were being cleaned. We went to the store today and were asked if we bought a warranty. "Warranty?" I asked, "They aren't even a year old!" Yeah, so the "best" they can do is get new frames for him for a lovely 40% discount. DO WHAT?????? For less than a year old BROKEN FRAMES??? Even the discount eyewear places have a year warranty. Hell, I think Walmart does. A couple of years ago my mother went to Eyewear Express for 2 pairs for $50 glasses. Eleven months later she broke the frame and their response was a new set of frames with many apologies. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Goodbye forever Visionworks. Oh, by the way, my first pair of glasses from Visionworks was in I think 1987 or 1988 so I have been a customer for a LONG time. WAS a customer for a long time. read more
