I had a good experience with another agency in my city but the caregiver they provided couldn't move to their OC location. I did a quick search and found Comfort Keepers. It's always nerve-wracking to choose an agency you aren't familiar with, knowing you will be stepping back and letting someone else support your loved one. Having a stranger in your house is something to get used to and not always an easy transition. From the first meet and greet with Karen and Chelsea I walked away feeling that they had a genuine concern for my father, and also my mother, who also would be in the home with him. My father has 7 day a week support and it's made such a difference in his health, wellbeing, and demeanor. He considers his "helpers" as family and hasn't had an odd fit yet. The staff is communicative when there's a sub or a change, and we're able to communicate scheduling updates easily via the phone or their website portal.

Over the course of several weeks, I worked closely with Lina while arranging the additional support my mother needed following her surgery, which had been significantly delayed due to the Kaiser strike. Throughout the process, Lina was professional, compassionate, kind, and extremely helpful. There were several frustrating moments related to scheduling issues, many of which I expressed to Kaiser. Lina was always honest and transparent, explaining that all of their Spanish-speaking caregivers were currently assigned to other clients. Even so, she consistently took the time to listen to my concerns, answer questions, and help explore possible solutions. Lina maintained regular communication to ensure my mother received the specific care she needed when she needed it. While there were some scheduling challenges along the way, Lina remained proactive, attentive, and supportive, helping us navigate each obstacle. She also worked closely with her scheduling team to make sure my mother's care needs were met. I am grateful for Lina's dedication and commitment throughout this process. I'm finally getting around to writing this review…read more Dwight is absolutely amazing!!! In early February we were looking for care for my dad. I called Dwight at 7:30 to leave a message. He actually picked up the phone. He talked with me for about 40 minutes, explaining all the services he offers and how it would look helping my dad (and mom). He knows his stuff! Very compassionate. Knowledgeable. Caring. There are a lot of things to consider when hiring a caregiver. Legalities. Regulations. Matching a caregiver with a client. So much more. Dwight explained it all so clearly. Big one: If you have a long-term healthcare insurance policy, make sure to check the waiting period. My mom hadn't looked at the policy in years, and sure enough there was a waiting period. His advice on activating it was on point. He met with my mom and I within a week of first talking on the phone. He re-explained to my mom all the services he offers. She was able to use him for only a week....my dad returned to the hospital. And never returned home. Dwight was so supportive. Would not hesitate to call Dwight.

She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's not much longer after that. She has been a member of the Alzheimer's Family Center of Huntington Beach since 2023 and I continually ask her "Do you like the Family Center?" and she always responds "Yes!". The Family Center has a staff that is caring and personable beyond reproach. They show genuine care for our loved ones. Her Neurologist has been pleasantly surprised on the last several visits because she has not detected the decline in her that was expected. I attribute much of that to loving care, engagement and social interaction that the Family Center provides for my loved one.

Kellie was hired to stay overnight in our home for 4 nights, 5 days with our 2 dogs. Her only…read morequestions to me were how to use the TV remotes and if she should bring her own food or can she eat what I have in the house. Good part of the review is the dogs are ok. They were walked 10-12 minutes each day and were fed. However their potty area was not cleaned each day as asked. If you have Kellie stay, understand that she will go through and help herself to your personal items. She helped herself to my personal items that were out in plain sight as well as items tucked away in drawers and medicine cabinets. She finally admitted that she spilled something on my shower curtain and bath mat but she cleaned it up. Only problem is she used my iron on curtain and left iron in a position where the water spilled out and damaged shelving. Further frustrating is that my kitchen cabinets/handles and floors were left by her a filthy, sticky mess! I have discussed all of this with Kellie, so this honest review will not be of a surprise to her.
