My mom has Visiting Angles caregivers with her from the time she gets up until she goes to bed. Each is kind, friendly and attentive. Each have their own unique skills and as a result my mom has people to sing with, watch movies with, play bingo with, walk with, pick roses with and each can immediately respond to her health, dressing changes and hygiene needs with kindness. Her living space is always clean. My mom considers each her friend and feels that she is loved. The office staff stay in touch and are responsive to changes in her needs. Everything seemed to start out ok as we needed help for my step-father with dementia and mother who was recovering from a sickness. We were sent an amazing woman to care for them and things had been working out well for over 8 weeks until we no longer needed the agency. The last couple of days, my siblings and I started receiving numerous phone calls from the Manager, Valerie insisting on speaking to us about my mothers decision. My mother was the one who signed the agreement. Why wasn't that good enough? Today, Valerie showed up at my parents house and confronted her, the caregiver and my brother. She accused her of not giving notice but my mother had proof of calls to the agency. She demanded the caregiver leave early from her shift to go to another client. Who was supposed to take my mother to her pre-op appointment? The caregiver was supposed to have done this. ??????? Valerie then announced that she and the caregiver had to leave because this confrontation was a " hostile work environment." What in the world does this agency think is the right way to treat clients and their employees? My parents are 82 years old!!!!!! I will be calling the authorities who license this agency to report this unprofessional and intimidating behavior. read more

My 93 year old father traveled from his Oregon Assisted Living Facility for my daughter's wedding. The family stayed at the hotel which was the wedding venue. I made arrangements with Visiting Angels for him to have 24 hour assistance while in his room, as well as while attending the events. Each caretaker was wonderful! His needs were met and he was able to enjoy each event. The family and I were also able to enjoy him and all the events knowing he was in such good hands. We as a family are so thankful for Visiting Angels. The name fits them impeccably. Living far away from our mom became rough for our family when my mom needed an abundance of care and we weren't able to be there. We felt hopeless & nervous. She wasn't willing to uproot and allow for us to take her in. We called a few places and instantly felt this was going to be a great option for our mom. We felt heard, understood and at ease after speaking with Alina and then Lisa on a few occasions. When they came to meet with us & answer our questions we decided and hoped they were true to their word. I am writing this because we couldn't be more pleased. They have exceeded our expectations. They have been caring, considerate and have gone beyond what we expected. Her caregivers have been fantastic. From visits to the hospital when she is hospitalized and always checking to make sure she is okay or that she doesn't need anything when there's an earthquake and/or storm in the area. If I could give zero stars I would. Their caregivers are EXTREMELY unqualified and panic over any slight occurrence which really made hiring this company at all a complete burden. I highly recommend Visiting Angels of Upland for in-home care. My parents used the agency for several years recently. The office staff was caring and responsive, providing service for them at the last minute numbers of times. The caregivers were compassionate and creative, each with their own special skills and strengths. One caregiver helped my mom preserve some of her 60-year old piano sheet music; another made special effort to accommodate different dietary needs for a couple of months, often preparing a different meal for each of them. They come part-time and really help my father with light chores, brushing teeth, fixing her hair & make-up, as well as the not so pleasant tasks of nursing care. I can't remember how I heard of Visiting Angels; however, when the need for some additional help with my mother's care post surgery I checked the reviews for them on Yelp. THANK YOU fellow Yelpers. It was because of these reviews I decided to call. I was impressed with their service, their professionalism and kindness. Even though it was a one time need and only about a three day notice, they were able to accommodate my request without hesitation. Although mom didn't really want someone to come in, she did enjoy the company and conversation with her Angel . I was able to go to work and felt more than comfortable that she was in good hands. Joan came out to their home to interview us to assess our needs & arranged for Ray to be my Dad's caregiver until a more permanent caregiver through medicare could be provided. Since Joan & Ray have come along side my family, I truly felt BLESSED by their presence, support & empathy. Visiting Angels provided an amazing service to my mother after she had suffered a very difficult emergency hip surgery while vacationing. My mother was hospitalized for a few weeks after her surgery and when she returned home Visiting Angles was able to provide around the clock assistance and comfort to our entire family. I especially appreciate the way they helped out when her health deteriorated recently and how well they handled an emergency situation last month. They also helped communicate with doctor's offices and the assisted living facility we chose for her. Their help with the details of packing made her transition to her new living arrangement so much easier for all of us.
