Having been a client of Visiting Geeks for more than 10 years, we are clearly fans of the business. Management/ownership has changed during our tenure, but quality of service has not. The company offers home/office service visits, but we frequently drop off our towers/laptops for maintenance. Turnaround is very speedy. Visiting Geeks delivers sage advice on upgrades (when needed) and does solid repair/maintenance what's more, they can do the research/shopping for you and will tailor a system appropriate for your personal needs/use. Visiting Geeks is happy to recycle (for you) older/disabled systems so you don't have to wait/take to your town's 'computer/monitor' recycling day, and even refurbishes newer systems for resale (perfect and less expensive solution for school aged kids or the casual computer user not requiring the latest and greatest in technology). Travel to Merrimac, MA (should you live a distance away like we do) should be figured into overall repair costs, but we are very satisfied with the service, advice and support we get from Visiting Geeks. When/if something goes wrong (which frequently happens with computers/technology), Visiting Geeks fix it to the best of their ability. My favorite place to take a computer when it turns out the computer is smarter then myself. They were able to fix whatever I did to make it run really slow and all at a reasonable price and time frame. They give a break down of what they did. These guys do it right! I can't believe how much time I wasted at a big box store when I have these guys on the north shore. They have helped me a few times with smaller issues over the years, but most recently they helped me pick out new laptop and transfer my project files. Why use these guys instead of that mall store? They solved my problem and saved me money. Yep - with their help I bought a better computer for less money.The tech showed up at my house when he was supposed to. He solved my set up problems without being condescending. I work in company where service is important. It's unusual to find expertise and good service these days. Nasty geeks should be the name of this company. I had a call scheduled, they never called. I called them and they didn't even apologize. I was offered a day that was inconvenient, ended up missing work and then guess what- they didn't show again. I called and told them I was moving to a new geek! read more

My wife, not realizing these are the people we used back in February, booked these guys again. Our oldest son bought her a Mac laptop and sent it via UPS so she booked visiting geeks to be there the following day after shipment. They showed up on time and the tech was very nice, however it took him two and a half hours to get the Mac using the wireless printer that we have in the house and when you charge by the hour it should be expected that you know what you are doing. The total was $294 to connect a printer to the laptop. I do not begrudge a company for making money but that is over the top. Also it seems like Yelp deletes less than flattering reviews pretty regularly so I don't even know how much value reviews on this site are anymore. Google "Yelp Scam" read more

Visiting Geeks has saved my skin multiple times. They have rescued my ailing laptop on numerous occasions (I use it for school so losing it would have been disastrous). They then helped me with recommendations for a new laptop (which I love) and with moving data when it finally gave up the ghost. They have also allowed my 82 year old mom to watch live streaming television from Japan (!!) after our satellite provider abruptly discontinued international service. Since my mom now depends on internet T.V., the ability to keep it up and running is crucial and they have helped us iron out the various kinks. Service is invariably prompt, helpful and friendly. Their office is in Merrimack but they also do house calls. This is an owner-operated company that provides smart technical help and great customer service. Highly recommended. read more

Awful service. We have used Visitng Geeks for years. Lately, they have really made a mess of things. Wrong date/time set for work to be done, primadonna service techs refusing to "walk in the snow" from their car to our door. Many other options out there. Don't use them. read more
