Beer is fine. A handful of selections and most are served in 1/2 liter pours. Outside area is really nice. Lots of picnic tables with shade from trees. The food though....eat elsewhere. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a burger and it took 40 minutes. The sweet potato fries r saturated in oil and soggy. The burger is a hockey puck. The pulled pork is disappointing. And it was $14 for each. A friend ordered corn bread and it was extremely dry. The donuts were oozing with oil. Maybe visit if you're in the area for a beer. They would do better just letting a food truck park here instead of serving their own stuff. read more

Stopped by to try their beer and here's my 2 cents: beautiful scenery but the staff was not as impressive. Not very friendly and not very informative in the selection of beer. Also when I asked to get my glass dressed, instead of saying let's see what we can do for you, it was more of a big NO we don't do that here. This is a nice place; the beers are definitely above average and it's a gorgeous large tasting room, open late and serves food. They have a few fun twists on standard beers; but don't go too far away from a beer you want to drink. The Kolsch and Lady Bird are my favorites, but give the others a try. Here's a non beer drinker's review of a brewery. It's not that I dislike beer personally, it's just, I learned a long time ago I can't drink enough of it to feel happy without also feeling bloated and miserable. Sooo, years ago at our local favorite pub in Cedar Park, I learned about Belgian Triple Ales. They have around 9% ABV so I only have to drink about 2 for a nice buzz. Here at Vista, they brew a Belgian Triple, the Middle Trinity, and it's marvelous. I went straight to that first and it was so tasty, my plans to try others were lost and I ordered it again. I did get to try hubby's Adair and Commencement and they were good too, for beer, but that Tripel. I ended up buying some to go! Maybe some day, when I run out of wine and vodka, I'll drink those :) We also sampled some food. Vista has a garden and apiary so everything is freshy fresh. The arugula salad was really GREEN, and obviously fresh picked, nicely paired with goat cheese and peaches. The special of the day was local made sausage with potato salad, which I really thought could use a little more salt or seasoning but the sausage was obviously not store bought, had a different texture and was delicious. But the star of the flavor show was the cornbread with house made (bee made!) honey butter. In a world (or a neighborhood) that is fast filling up with distillaries, wineries and breweries, it's really cool to have a organic conscious brewery and kitchen right around the corner. Big fan of Vista. We didn't get to experience their food as they are doing snacks only for now. I recommend bringing food as the snacks aren't great, but I recognize they're doing their best given COVID. The beer is pretty good though and they have a good variety with their more evergreen beers like kolsch, pilsners, steam beer, IPAs, etc. The other half of the beer selection are collaborations they'll do with a lot of ales and they have a saison on top as well. You can't beat the environment either. You're in a beautiful forest with a ton of outdoor seating. Great for kids; there's a playground way in the back too. They'll bring in good live music on a few days. Looking forward to trying to food when things open back up. read more

We have been to Vista a few times now, and have been impressed each time, but each time they get better and better. As a Kyle resident, my husband and I frequent the food and beverage venues in the Driftwood area, and we couldn't be more excited to have Vista to add to our regular rotation. Husband loves the beer (I sampled a couple I really enjoyed, too, and I'm not typically a beer drinker) and the food is excellent. Veggies raised on the property, locally sourced meats - the difference in quality shows. Today we had a salad, the squash side, some cornbread (not pictured because we had already eaten half of it ;), the chicken sandwich, and the tacos. Everything went really well together and you could tell the thoughtfulness that went into the flavor profiles. The star today was the chicken sandwich, but all were delicious - we would order any of it again. Last but not least, the Vista grounds are stunning. The owners and management team are clearly putting a lot of thought and heart into developing a family-friendly destination. It's beautiful now, and I can only imagine it'll get better and better. Ultra modern beer and wine garden in a serene, country setting. We stopped here after stuffing ourselves at the Salt Lick BBQ and enjoyed the less crowded, and very nicely air conditioned building. Nice selection of beer and varieties of wine. I would definitely go again. read more

The Good: venue is beautiful, beer was decent, there was live music and its great for families. The Bad: We waited for over 3.5 hours for food, and the food was awful. No flavor chicken breast over unseasoned rice, floppy green tomatoes barely dredged, salad had maybe two goat cheese crumbles, deviled eggs look like they came from HEB etc. People started leaving without food, smiling faces turned upside down. We asked about our food, they said 15-20 mins and we waited an hour longer. Another person asked about their three salads and one chicken breast, in which they had waited for over two hours. We got more beer, and more people left, people tried to get their money back....... And here's where they made the biggest mistake of all: not caring about people. Not caring how long people waited, and letting us know, not telling people they were sold out of items until the server came to deliver your food, not turning people away so those people who HAD paid could receive the best food and service possible. To quote their website "...to provide guests with memorable food and beverage experiences bolstered by an un-wavering commitment to service and hospitality". It was memorable, that's for sure. My first mother's day and it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. We left hungry, frustrated, $100 cheaper and wishing we had our time back (and my first mother's day). To the Owners: It is a better thing to turn people away and to maintain your reputation, to be honest with people, and to keep your standards high, vs. being stubborn, cutting corners and not caring for people. Specifically told them, just meat and cheese, with extra cheese. Burger comes out ( no salt available ) with all the gunk on it that I didn't want. I am sorely disappointed in the entire visit. Dinner review: Although we really like the location and beer, we had a poor experience there last night which had me pretty frustrated. I really don't like posting negative reviews, especially within the brewery community which I respect and love. However Vista leadership should be aware.. I took our adult daughter to Vista, thinking it would be a fun place for a birthday dinner. My spouse was traveling so it was just me and four kids so to be honest I was struggling a bit already. There was a woman there (slightly older, no piercings) who was amazing. Very accommodating and helpful- loved her!! However... I didn't appreciate the impatience and eye rolls by the of the guys (shorter) as I was trying to place a fairly large dinner order. Even my kids commented on how rude he was in two separate instances throughout the night. It made everyone uncomfortable and feel unwelcome. It put a dark cloud over a special evening. He was clearly not feeling well, frequently sneezing and with a possible head cold (hoping allergies???) which may be the reason - perhaps should have considered taking the day off for several obvious reasons. The food, for what you get is overpriced in my opinion. Having music there helped justify the cost but still.. To be fair, my burger was delicious so kudos to the kitchen. Look, I would still recommend this place for a fun afternoon and great beer but I can't recommend the Friday night dinner situation. read more

Went there today for the cute succulent, making class that was offered from an outside company which was amazing and adorable. We really enjoyed it but in the advertising for Vista Brewing, it says enjoy a farm to table meal with a glass of wine or beer while making your succulent. Sounds like food and drink is included for $35 but it's actually not. I think this is vistas issue they didn't advertise well I talk to the owner and the first thing she asked me was do you want to picture with me???? I said hummm no but could you explain why this is advertised this way?? anyway she didn't seem to be concerned that I was trying to tell her that it's misleading and they should change it on their website ....we left probably won't go back to the brewery again. read more

We were in the Texas Hill Country for Thanksgiving weekend. It was Wednesday evening, we had just gotten in the area and just accidentally found this place. What a find!! It was dark but the tasting room was lit up with a warm feeling. We had two of their brews and had their spicy chicken sandwich. They had a Thai sauce that really made the chicken pop. There were a lot of locals as well as what appeared to be their holiday guests. This says a lot about a place as well. Definitely a 10 but that isn't an option. LOL read more

What a remarkable spot! I'm a beer nerd from Portland who lived in Austin for a bit. When coming back for a visit my friends took me out to visit Vista. I can humbly say that their beer is crafted to a standard we search for back at home. I sampled through tasters of many beers, but personally loved the dark skies...oh and there's one with "Travis" in the name that I was partial to. I'm a bit bad at remembering names but they had so many well-made and unique brews. The space itself was unparalleled. Walkable for what felt like a mile, with bees, a garden, gorgeous trees...and my favorite was the tree growing right through the patio out front. The architecture is beautiful, and there's a stage for jam sessions. I'm a bit sad I was there on a weekday and didn't get to catch a show, but that's an excuse to come back next time. The vibe here is magnificent. I really love the owners. One benefit of being there at a less crowded time of the week was that we met the owners and the head brewer. We got to hear a bit about their inspiration, their favorite beers and their dreams for the future. What cool people with an amazing spot. I'll be back! read more

We've been here on several occasions in the past with mixed reviews. A beautiful location and plenty of space to sit outside and relish the scenery. Great place to bring kids to run around while parents relax. In colder months they have great fire pits. Unfortunately, I just don't find the beer enjoyable. We frequent many local breweries and wish I could find at least one beer there to make it worth the visit. On our last visit, we had planned to grab dinner there, but decided to leave after a soft pretzel and the first round. The flights are a great price and the beers range from dark and smokey to light and crisp. The staff was knowledgeable and helped everyone in my party pick out beers that we all ended up loving. We love sitting indoors and outdoors depending on the weather and like that we have that option. They have live music on weekends and the beer/wine selection is good. The location was quite a trek, but once I arrived could see the appeal. The serene location was absolutely gorgeous. I definitely see the place being used as a venue/event space/wedding reception sort of location. It appears to be perfectly setup for that. They have several buildings all pretty close together with different functions. While we were here, unfortunately the weather did not permit us to enjoy sitting outdoors, under the trees at one of the many tables they have outside. The inside of the taproom was decorated with the sort of style I really like: rustic with cacti and succulents and lots of natural light. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about their work. Several people ordered food and the menu looked pretty good. I ordered a flight tasting and enjoyed what I tasted. We had out of town guests and decided to visit couple wineries and breweries near by. It was Saturday afternoon, and one of our stops was VB. Great spot - plenty of parking, mature trees providing shade, lots of picnic tables, swings and a playground for little ones, corn hole for adults (I am pretty sure you have to pay for it or maybe leave deposit for bags). Overall, really nicely done. From what I understand, they are a new brewery, so their beer selection was small. I personally love wheat or white beer, and they did not have any. Opted for a lighter beer, but was not my favorite. They also had wine, we did not get any so not sure of the options available. But here is the issue. Their food! By 3pm all meals were marked "SOLD OUT", and only a handful of appetizers were available. I mean it's a weekend, how can you not have anything left by 3pm...? We were hoping to stay longer, eat, drink and enjoy the place. Instead, we were out in under 30mins. Appetizers we ordered were not suited for beer, they were something I would enjoy with wine. And super small portions too, I mean teeny tiny. They had "side salad" available - guess what it was? Small handful of arugula and a dash of unknown dressing. Nothing else. We tried to add chicken breast to it so at least kids could eat, and were told "of the last chicken breast just got sold". It was ridiculous. Grits with quail legs were about 4 spoonfuls of grits and two quail legs (they are small to begin with). It was 4 of us and we literally laughed that we all cannot taste the grits because it would not be enough for everyone. Overall, I would return once they increase their beer selection and without any plans to spend money on their food. Eat at home, people! read more

The space and views are gorgeous. Didn't make it out to the farm, but it's pretty neat that there is one on property. Definitely a great venue space. I drank Le Saison and was satisfied with my choice. To eat, I ordered the smoked chicken sandwich and my mate ordered the black angus cheese burger, sub the cheddar cheese for goat cheese. The meat to bun meat ratio of the chicken sandwich could have been better. I ended up scrapping the bun and putting the smoked chicken and slaw on the house made chips (which was tight). The salt from the chips gave flavor to smoked chicken. The burger comes dry (no lettuce, tomato, pickles- and also not available on the side) which is kinda weird considering there is a farm on premises. Also no hot sauce available. read more

As a non beer drinker this place wasn't really on my must go list. However, they were having their one year celebration and we were looking for something different to do. First, non beer drinkers have choices here. They have partnered up with local places to have Cider and Wine. The buildings are nice. The main tasting room would be a good place to hold an event. We sat outside as the music was just way too loud to sit inside. They have a lot of outdoor space like Treaty Oaks. Thankfully, they have set up an out door tent for some shade. Dog friendly. Play ground for kids as well. For their anniversary they were holding tours of their operations. The tour didn't move. We stood in the same spot for the entire 45 minutes. Everything is done in one place. The owner even gave some information on their mind set and vision. It is was nice to hear. I did enjoy hearing the information on their operation. I also liked they thought about the trees on their property. As a native I hate it when people come in and cut down all the trees. The trees they did have to cut were reused as the bar (gorgeous) tasting boards, etc. We did not experience their food. We were not in the mood for what they were serving. Do note no outside food is allowed. As it appears this business has been claimed I will state a few areas that could use improvement. First, the ladies bathroom was a bit of a mess. It could use some attention. I am hopeful that is was just a busy day and got missed. However, I would expect all weekends are busy and I think the weather actually kept many people away. Give it a mid day check in. Second, the small brown ADA parking sign didn't get it done. When we left we were the only car in the ADA parking area with an actual tag. I am guessing most people didn't know that area was ADA as it had such a small sign. Grateful we were able to get a spot but maybe more signs to make sure all ADA customers get a spot. Finally, the portion size of the wine for $9 was on the light end in my opinion. We will put this in our rotation of breweries, wineries and distilleries to visit on the weekends. We would like to try the pint loop and see all the property on a drier weekend. read more

The Angus Burger with a side of potato salad $14.! Over cooked, salad had zero taste, we asked for dill slices...they didn't have them...however they're selling jars of pickles along with their cups & t-shirts! My daughter had a Mac & Cheese $6. served in a small cast iron pan. The pan had not been cured so the Mac & Cheese has an overpowering metallic taste. Their order of Pimento Cheese was marginal, served with stale crackers $7. If you're not expecting anything better than overpriced bar food this is your place. My family and a friends family went to the Vista Brewing Mother's Day brunch. It is a beautiful setting and something for everyone to do. They ran out of the carrot cake and only two of the ten of us got to taste it. We contacted the director of operations and he very graciously had the kitchen prepare an individual carrot cake for our group to enjoy. Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty. They really aim to please. I highly recommend this place because the service is out of this world. read more
