Great views from this winery in Difrtwood! We went on a weekend and they had live music. Great selection of wines. :)

The wine is truly award winning and the service is outstanding! We will be returning with several of our friends. Cheers!

We came in on a Saturday for a tasting, and while it was pretty busy, they were able to squeeze our group in. The views of the hill country from the patio were absolutely stunning, but unfortunately, the tasting itself wasn't my favorite experience. The setup felt a bit cramped with so many different tastings happening at once, and because of that, you didn't get a lot of hands-on attention from the staff. They were doing their best to keep up, but it definitely impacted the experience of learning more about each wine. The standard tasting includes your choice of 6 wines from their current releases for $25. After the tasting, I grabbed a glass of wine and enjoyed it outside with my friends, soaking up that beautiful view. Driftwood is definitely worth it for the scenery, but I'd love to see a more relaxed tasting experience next time.

Parking - plenty, free Note: Road - leading up to this winery is a very bumpy dirt road; don't bring a low rider lol Service - friendly and attentive Views - beautiful rolling hills overlooking vineyard and a glimpse of a stream Menu - not vegetarian forward, not many options for vegetarian, non for vegans. Chimichurri beef w was well liked by hubby. Good flavors, good portion, not dry. Wines - not many whites, 1 rose (strawberries and cream profile), some great reds. Was pleasantly surprised at the complexity of the wines here.

Welcome to Driftwood Vineyards! It is a journey to get up there. Make sure to drive slowly.

Wow! It was so wonderful meeting The staff here at this winery. Greg was so helpful and knowledgeable about all of the different wines offered, and it was really neat to hear about the history of the winery along with all of the awards one within international competitions I thoroughly enjoyed The Lonestar (wine) if you get a chance to check it out and let's not forget, it is nestled in the most inspiring view in the hill country! You can see a wide landscape of acres of land and greenery.

Hello views!! The tasting room (wine and customer service) is on point. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with the employees (especially, Larin) during our tasting and the cute gift shop. All of the wines were great, not disappointed (you get to pick 6 wines). Afterwards, we went over to the bistro which lead to the 4 stars. We only got the "basic" charcuterie board; which was good when you need a snack but not what we expect from the vineyard. The server was nice but not very antintative; small adjustments would make this a five star place. We still recommend if you want a nice glass of wine in the Wimberley area.

Ventured up the hill to the Driftwood Estate Winery and found the prettiest views! We enjoyed a nice lunch at the bistro and then walked over to the tasting room. Unfortunately the staff was not knowledgeable so we just ordered a white and rose from the list. We didn't really care for our choices but I would certainly go back again just for the food & views. Hopefully next time we can do a tasting and enjoy the pavilion. I will say the long, dusty road is less than ideal but the views are great. And there were so many dogs that honestly I could have stayed all afternoon!

Ask the Community - Driftwood Estate Winery

    Are dogs allowed?

yes as long as you keep them on a leash and clean up after them..Its a shame that people has to say that.

Is there a food truck on site? If so, what is the menu? If not, can something like cheese and crackers be brought in to consume with the wines?

What Michaela said is correct. We stop by Salt Like BBQ, get to-go, and picnic at Driftwood all the time. They only ask that you not bring food or funky smells into the tasting room for obvious reasons, but you can bring the picnic basket, taste,…

Is there a Bed and Breakfast Inn, in the area?

We stayed at the Blair House near by. First rate operation.

We came as part of a larger tour across multiple Driftwood area wineries with reservations for their tastings. They have a set tasting menu and a staff member will guide you through each of the pours with explanations of the flavor profiles. On our last visit it was a mix of whites, reds and a sweet wine at the end. The pours are generous and all their wines have tasted great. You can order some snacks like a charcuterie plate on the side. The space is beautiful and I've heard they have a venue on the estate for hosting parties or weddings. They have a beautiful outdoor garden that makes for gorgeous photos or relaxing outside. Check this spot out on your next Austin area winery tour!

Luckily my sister had the reservation email to show them because the girl just kept repeating the same thing until someone senior came by to help us. The wine was tasty but the tasting itself was only moderately enjoyable. The main reason was the tasting was 30-40 minutes long and we just had to stand at a counter. We couldn't order food at the counter either. We are used to tastings being at a table where we do the tasting, order bottles we enjoyed while noshing on food from the menu. Standing for 40 minutes at a counter was not expected or enjoyable. One of our family members has a disability and is unable to stand that long so he and my husband sat outside while the ladies did the wine tasting inside at the counter. It was really disappointing as the expectation was a nice afternoon at the winery with the group and it ended up being two separate groups and standing the whole time at a counter wasn't enjoyable. The wine was good. We brought two bottles home. The experience left a lot to be desired.

I enjoyed my time here. Don't forget to get some gelato on your way out. The service was spectacular and the waiter was so knowledgeable about the menu . Now, let's get into what I ate. Appetizers: Bread- I'm not sure what the proper name for the bread is, but it was so good. The bread was like a warm hug. It had a welcoming taste. I can't even explain it fully. The texture was phenomenal. It was like a cornbread and a roll put together. Artichoke fritters- This dish surprised me. I didn't expect to like it so much. It was fried to perfection and flavorful. I honestly didn't need the sauce . Meatballs- The meatballs were the best I've had in my life. They were covered in a well prepared sauce. Entrée: Snapper with pesto pasta- My snapper was very flavorful. The only downfall of the snapper was the size. For the price, I expected a whole snapper. The pasta was good, but I'm not a huge fan of pasta. I also ordered brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were cooked very well. Dessert: Biscoff and almond gelato - This was a perfect ending to to a wonderful meal. The gelato flavors change often. I will definitely go again!

So, if there's a place I like, I'm gonna go again and again. Vista is one of those places. I like their approach to beer making. They are vigilantly local when it comes to ingredients and offerings. The brewery/restaurant sits on over 20 acres in hill country. Large, clean, and modern interior with large outdoor seating areas and patio setups. Picnic tables, fire pits, etc. The food is good, gang. Love the grilled sausage board and the cheese board (all local cheese). Soft pretzel & cheese also super good. Lots of other items in the menu that look incredible. Sunday brunch too. Farm to table. The pours...oh, the pours. Excellent beers! I love the black pilsner (Dark Skies), the chocolate notes come through in such an aromatic and roasty manner. The pale ale (Driftwood Pale Ale) is the perfect summer pour. It's light, crisp, and refreshing. In addition to the regular pours, they've got a lot of seasonal offerings too. They also serve wine/wine cocktails and n/an options. Spending a day in hill country? When we walked up to the counter the menu was on the bar top. We looked at the menu and placed our order with the man working behind the counter. He was really cool and answered our questions. After ordering he gave us a number and told us to seat ourselves. After figuring out where we wanted to sit we went to the water station and grabbed some water. We looked around inside at the decor and talked while we waited for our order. We started with two sharables and each ordered the burgers of our choice. Unfortunately when they started bringing out our food they made an error in how it was made. We told them, the took the wrong order back, and after awhile they brought us everything and apologized for the error. Our sharables were the Grilled Chimichurri Avacado which comes with a half avocado, corn, and tortilla chips, and the Hummus Board which comes with hummus, veggies, and pitas. Both of these sharables were tasty in different ways. The Grilled Chimichurri Avacado was delicious. You could taste all of the delicious flavors and the tortilla chips were strong enough to hold a mix of the ingredients. The Hummus Board was also very tasty. The Hummus was garlic flavored and the veggies were fresh and crisp. The pitas were warm and soft. For my main dish I ordered the Driftwood Cheeseburger. It comes with a beef patty, bacon jam, onions, pickles, sauce, and cheese. I opted for no cheese. The burger meat was really good. You could taste the Smokey flavor from the grill on the meat. The bacon jam was sweet but not overly sweet and gave the burger a sweet and savory flavor. The pickles added texture to the burger. It was a really good burger. I ordered my burger with a side of kettle chips which were nice and crispy. Overall it was a great place to visit. The service was good, the atmosphere was spacious, nice and bright, and the food was fresh and delicious.

Service - we have been here about 4-5 times, but service has never been too great or too friendly. The bar on the beer side is always pleasant but the tasting bar side always has a bit of a tiny rude vibe - and I don't mention it ever but I'm in the wine industry and we don't see this normally. Also tonight we were asked to move to a different table as they didn't prepare for a Harry Potter event ahead of time just as we settled in after a rough day (and our young pup finally chilled out). It felt we were being pushed out and the other table was by the window/door that was glass so I was cold. My senior mom was cold after we had found a great spot that was warm for her. Live music tonight was also quite off - I wouldn't suggest this place anymore. I'm not sure if in the last year it has gone down hill but it's no longer worth the drive for a mediocre experience. They gave many potential beautiful spaces but they don't utilize them, nor update them, so the vibe is just outdated. No music on the speakers can be heard when there isn't live music. What I like about small vineyards is they have the freedom to experiment and create a variety of wines and blends using different varieties and winemaking styles. This innovation leads to fresh and evolving tasting experiences that keep wine interesting, exciting, and perhaps most importantly, personal. Small vineyards also focus on quality and sustainable farming, and produce smaller quantities of wine. This locally owned small vineyard has bold reds and crisp whites and breathtaking views at sunset. For my partner, I purchased a bottle of the 2019 Mourvèdre. This vino is smokey and bold with cholocatre undertones. This vino will pair well with steak and other red meats. While I am not a fan of reds, the quality and legs on this vino is undeniable. I purchased a glass of 2021 Barrel Aged Trebbiano which was reminiscent of a Cabernet Sauvignon blanc. Cabernet Blanc wines have a flavor profile that's similar to a mix of Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. They can be dry, but some are made to be slightly sweet. This Trebbiano was more dry that sweet which I adore. Aside from the vinos, the sunset views when sitting on the deck are stunning. My partner and I sat and watched the sun go down with glasses in hand. The vino coupled with the views made this outing magical.
