When we visited Caparone Winery in Paso Robles, we made the mistake of driving down a dirt path road on the way. It wasn't terrible but do try to take San Marcos Road when coming here. When we came to the winery, it literally looked like a deserted farmhouse. There was just 1 other vehicle around and a closed door to the building. We ventured inside and was pleasantly surprised that the father/owner Dave was already there pouring wine for visitors! The building was filled with wooden barrels of unsulfated wine. On a modest table, Dave offered 2015 Nebbiolo, 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2015 Merlot, 2016 Aglianico, 2013 Zinfandel, and 2016 Sangiovese. We sampled each wine and particularly liked the Zinfandel! The wine smelled fragrant and full. The wine was slightly dry and not at all acidic and we loved the lack of sulfated preservatives. At $18 per bottle, 10% discounts are offered for a half case 6 bottles and 20% discount for a full case of 12 bottles. We purchased the Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Nebbiolo. Excellent wine and without sulfite preservatives! A great little winery worth visiting!

The tour started at 10am cause it would be too hot to be outside in the afternoon. Our tour guy was very professional and knowledgeable about this massive vineyard resort. The tour took about an hour and half and finished with wine tasting in the resort tasting room. We were introduced to the entire property, history and facts about this winery. I really liked the cute goats on the ground. I was worried about them being in the heat and out in the sun. But our tour guy assured me that they made sure the animals stay in shaded areas and drink enough water to stay hydrated. The arts of this place are just fantastic. Owner is a big art collector so he covers quite a few cultures including Buddha (my faith)! All the arts are from the original countries so they are authentic. I loved the amazing art installations throughout the vineyard. My sign Virgo was on the top of the hill so we had to do a mill hike to see it. There is an art tour that we will do next time. I really want to know the details and histories of all the arts here. I was so glad that we decided to do this tour. If you ever visit Paso Robles wine country you might want to check this winery out. The prices were reasonable at $45 per person, $30 for resort guests and complimentary for members (2 people). My experience, during a $45 tasting, one should have consumed the equivalent of at least 3/4 of a bottle (I could be wrong). During this tasting, we consumed the equivalent of a half glass of wine.

I hadn't visited since the week before everything shut down for COVID, and I'm happy to say it's just as great as I remembered. The vibe is cozy and understated, which is a big part of the charm. It doesn't feel overly commercialized or like they're rushing people in and out; there's a real sense of care behind the experience. The wines are excellent, and the pricing feels very fair, especially since nothing about the experience feels over the top or pretentious. We came on a last-minute trip and weren't able to get a reservation online, but they were kind enough to accommodate us as walk-ins. We spent about an hour there, enjoyed the tasting, and ended up buying a few bottles. We'll definitely be back soon, and I'd love to join the wine club once we start drinking more wine. Highly recommend, just really good quality all around.

Eberle was one of the first wineries I visited when first coming "home" to Paso Robles many years…read moreago. Recently, we came back for a mini reunion and made Eberle a place where our party of 8 could relax, unwind, and reminisce of yesteryears while enjoying the beautiful views from the covered vineyard deck, and needless to say we absolutely had a blast! The tasting experience was still complimentary thanks to the blessed heart of Mr. Gary Eberle (thank you kind Sir), who also happened to grill up some delicious meats and smoked sausage that day (Santa Maria style), which was the perfect pairing to his wines. Special mention to Stephanie, who did an phenomenal job guiding us through the last cave tour of the day...and Mr. Eberle, she truly did your story justice (and then some!). WOW! We left there with plenty of purchases as well...too good to pass up! Oh and ladies, give their Rosé and Muscat Canelli a try...so refreshing! CHEERS and happy eating till next time...

About halfway through our flight, she took us downstairs for the cave tour. Wow, what a stunner! Such a unique touch to this winery. Our waiter was great very kind and understanding and he was nice enough to remove the pizza from our check without any hesitation. I truly appreciated the customer service. Overall, the beautiful setting, relaxing atmosphere, and great service were positives, but I really hope the kitchen works on adding more flavor and seasoning to their pizzas.
