The venue, staff, and wine were excellent. We came on the rainiest day in Paso Robles for the year so we ended up in the barrel room which was actually a nice back drop. Just a little cooler temperature wise. But they thought of everything by providing us with blankets. There were two different flights. 2 of us got the Limited flight and 1 got the Signature flight. The wine is primarily Rhone style, which is not my "go-to" but the wine maker's favorite varietal is Syrah so that definitely was favorable since that is my favorite Rhone varietal. I chose the Limited flight because they had the carbonic Grenache "Jhoom" and I'm always interested to see how that expresses itself. I think the winemaker really did a great job! Granted it was not a Beaujolais Nouveau, since it was from Grenache it had that similar bubblegum light fresh fruity expression. Would be good at a Thanksgiving dinner. My favorite wines of the two flights were the Cabernet Sauvignon from Limited flight and the Syrah " Source" from the Signature flight. We all felt she was one of the best wine educators we have come across and we have visited 100's of wineries. Came here for a wine taste based off of a recommendation from Emercy Winery and boy was it a good one. The grounds are beautiful along with the tasting room. Emily took took amazing care of of as she guided us through the flights. White and reds were top notch and fairly priced. Their Grenache was really good. Didn't walk away with any bottles due to lack of storage but would have joined a membership had the situation been different. Had a pretty good experience. I was able to make last minute, same day reservations for a small party. Unfortunately, we did not see the owners or winemaker, which would have been cool. The tasting experience was pretty standard, checked in, brought to a table outside. It was a nice day. The view was good; some hills with pruned vines. There was also a nice breeze. We went through a flight of their current offerings and 3 different people told us a bit about each of the wines. While we did not join the wine club, we did leave with a few of their library bottles (which I had heard a lot of great things about), which waived the tasting fee. I'd try Copia again, and perhaps do a much more elevated experience at the estate. read more

Had a great experience visiting the Copia tasting room in downtown Paso! I had been wanting to visit here for a while now and was so happy that we finally made the stop in. Our group of four visited right at opening on a Saturday morning. We didn't have a reservation but were seated immediately at the beautiful table in the storefront window. We received wonderful service from the gentleman working the tasting room, I believe his name was Victor or Vincent - I feel bad I can't remember! All of the wines were fantastic, full of depth and flavor. It's always a dilemma choosing how many bottles of wine to buy when it's only your first stop of the weekend, so I only ended up taking one bottle to go. But, I would gladly drink any of them again and would've liked to take one other with me if it weren't for my overflowing wine cabinet. After having numerous friends and family visit this posh little tasting room, I figured it was now my time to jump in. And so glad we did. Entering in to their bright and pristine tasting room space, they have a beautiful communal table set up for small or large groups, and it's all set up with Riedel stemware glistening in the sun-filled room. They also have a comfy-cozy space in the back, their Copia Lounge, where they recommend reservations for medium or larger groups. Can't say enough about our gracious host and server Victor. He took us seamlessly through the tasting, and was very helpful in letting us know about all the other hotspots in Paso. We didn't have reservations upon our arrival, and Victor was very welcoming and got us set up on a nice table up front. He glided us through their selection of Rhone varietals. And along with their wines we enjoyed their artisanal cheese and charcuterie. Their premium wine tasting flight included a delicious Rose of Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah. "The Story," a blend of Grenache and Syrah. "The Cure," a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre, and "The Source," their Syrah and Grenache blend. Each one had distinct aromatic notes, with dark tasting notes and very nice finishes. Although not on their tasting menu, the "White," a Roussane - Viognier blend, was available for purchase, and after taking that home we chilled it immediately, and along with the other bottles we purchased they thoroughly complimented our Paso Robles BBQ. read more

A truly wonderful experience! Copia has been on our list to try for a while now and was recommended by many locals we've met. Kudos to their social media team. I reached out when I didn't see a reservation for 2 (only saw openings for 3+) for a last minute birthday weekend. The team answered our questions and sent us a direct reservation link for a time we requested. When arriving, Victor greeted us with welcome rose and got us seated inside (even though we had an outdoor reservation). Much appreciated as it was in the 100 degrees that day and already getting hot. All wines we tried were delicious. The food was top notch and paired perfectly with the wine. We toured Paso for a few days and we heard "try COPIA" more than a few times. "COPIA" was in the air. I'd never heard of the winery and I'm so glad I did! Impressed with both the wines- and with Anita. Seriously - WOW! On our recent trip in town, we were walking around downtown when we passed by Copia. The name had come up many times during my searches for the best wineries and we decided to stop in. While they were no longer doing tastings by the evening, we got to sample a few reds before deciding on a glass to order. I really enjoyed sipping on "The Story". But what was most pleasant about this experience was the great atmosphere! We had the pleasure of being served by a man named Victor, who was so kind. He chatted with us and a couple next to us as we enjoyed our wine. As another group slipped in, it felt like one big family as we all conversed over great wine. I love that the owners make their story known, differentiating themselves from other wineries which may be more impersonal. Copia produces some of the most amazing wines my wife and I have ever tasted. The owners, Anita and Varinder, have a gift for winemaking. The tasting room sits at the base of the vineyard's vine-covered hills. The deck overlooks the vineyard and, oddly but cutely, a small putting green. You can tour the area where the wines age in French oak -there are even two massive, Italian-made amphora where they age some of the wines. We bought several bottles, red white and rose'. They were all magnificent which, if you're thinking you'll only want to pack a few bottles, will make it difficult to choose. Living in Northern California, I've been to many wineries in Lodi, Napa, Sonoma and our other amazing wine growing regions. Never have I come away impressed by every single wine I tasted -until now. On top of this, the winemakers are just genuinely good people, and that's a great plus in my book. We bumped into them at Grover Beach where they invited us to visit Copia and taste the wines. I'm so grateful that I took them up on that. My wife and I are fans of Copia for life now. read more
