After looking at several negative reviews , I'd say they seem unfair. One person couldn't find…read moreglasses to fit her head, etc. To the contrary, my experience was FANTASTIC. They may wear vests like "Wal-Mart" (said a 1 star reviewer) but it's part of their brand. Their brand is "we're the best value out there" or their ads wouldn't focus on their 2 prs for $100 deals. Why would you expect high-end anything for that price, and who cares how they're dressed? Ridiculous comment really, for the "Wal-Mart of eye wear". Anyway. Good service. Good appreciation of the value of my time. I didn't wait around long, like at other places. But after the exam, was the best part. Instead of using assumptive closing skills by adding every option onto my order and then giving me the total (like Clarkson), this lady, Cathy, gave me my base total and then made recommendations as up sells. As a sales person, this tells me that this company understands customer service and sales strategy better than many of its competitors. They understand their consumer (price shopper) and conduct their business accordingly. I was really pleased with my experience. If you're not a fashionista who cares about brands as much as the look, then this is a great option. You can find some nice options. I think the bulk of people could find something that looks good here. I do gravitate towards higher end products (fashionista like), but feel these are great for everyday wear and a perfect solution for kids. At this price point, what more do you want? Really at any price point. This place is an overall good value. We will be back.

It had an unprofessional attitude as well as appearance. Not to say they did not even know the price of the glasses. You might want to call ahead to make sure it is not on their lunch hour, they will refuse to wait on you, I was always taught the customer comes first.

Read through all this(see photos)for a true understanding. Yes i wrote an essay, I am a not so…read morerecent Purdue Graduate. Yes my schedule is limited, but not having a doctor at a location from 3pm to 5pm is ridiculous, if you have hours till 7pm. We all work, so this is inexcusable. This location has very poor communication, lacks the ability to provide accurate information on how long a refresher contact class will take and seemingly does not respect a customer's time in a way that allows them to be able to see(their main job). I was there the day they got an 83 on their audit. There is absolutely room for improvement here at this location. I really had hoped to not have to write this review, but this location may be the worst eye doctor experience I have ever had. I will start from the beginning. See all the photos and look at the time stamps. I have been waiting 78 days for a contact trial to be concluded and to order my prescription contacts. Full disclosure, I have astigmatism, so i did not expect to be lucky on the first trial, but this location has made ordering and contacting (pun intended)the customer for correct ones nearly impossible.

This place is horrible. Don't waste your time!…read more Attendants were nice enough though they cycle through them every other week. Because of that theirs no one following up on the client needs and orders. We've been waiting for over 6 months for my daughters glasses and every time they come in, the order is screwed up in some way. Wrong frame, wrong lenses. This last time we begged them to expedite the order so she would be able to see properly at camp... it's been four weeks since we ordered them with just another new guy on the phone apologizing. At this point we'd move on but 300$ is a lot of money.

I switched from Crown Optical to America's Best years ago, because the glasses are so much more…read moreaffordable. The two stars are because I've been happy enough with the glasses, and they have a very good guarantee. The problem is the eye doctors. In that regard, it seems to me that America's Best is the optometry equivalent of Great Clips. The overall impression I get is that the doctors that work here are either brand new doctors in their first job, or they just didn't do very well in school, and this place is the only job they can get. I'm not sure I've ever had the same optometrist twice, and I have found them to be generally subpar. I have had significant issues with my eye exams for the last two years, and both times, the problem was the doctor. Last year, the doctor told me that my prescription had barely changed at all, and then he proceeded to drastically change it. When the glasses arrived and I went to pick them up, I couldn't really see through them, and I said so. I was told that I needed to be patient and give my eyes a chance to adjust to the new prescription. I accepted that and drove home. I actually drove with these glasses, but it really wasn't safe for me to do so. I gave the glasses another week, but I never did "adjust." Luckily, I also didn't try to drive anymore while wearing them, because that was completely unsafe. After a week, I called and spoke to the manager, who checked my old prescription and was shocked to see what a drastic change the doctor had made, after telling me that it had barely changed. The manager was lovely, and she seemed completely baffled as to why the doctor would have done what he did. A different doctor examined me and confirmed that the prescription was completely off. They reordered the glasses with the correct prescription, and everything was ultimately fine, but it was a lot of hassle for no reason. Then a few weeks ago, I went back for my annual exam. My mother and my grandmother both had Wet AMD, and I thought the doctor might want to know about that history, so I mentioned it. He scoffed at me and acted like it was the stupidest thing anyone had ever said to him. He told me if I was showing signs of Wet AMD, he would know it, and he completely dismissed me. And that wasn't all. I had recently begun experiencing what I believed to be ocular migraines. I described in detail what had been going on, hoping that he could advise me. He looked at me like I was making him late for happy hour and he said, I kid you not, "Sounds like you should probably see a doctor about that." I was dumbfounded. I asked him what kind of doctor? My primary? An ophthalmologist? He practically rolled his eyes and said, "Well, you have cataracts, so you're going to need to see an ophthalmologist eventually." And that was the end of that. He never really answered a single one of my questions, he just acted put out by them. You can get your eyes examined at America's Best if you want to, but I do NOT recommend it. I will still buy my glasses there because no one beats their prices, but I will never get my eyes examined here again.

I stated I was having no issues with my eyes on the paperwork as well as in person when asked. We both have VSP and thought the exam would be covered accordingly. However I received an invoice from Clarkson stating I owed $50. My wife did not receive an invoice for her exam. When we stopped into the Clarkson office, they told us my wife's visit was covered under VSP but mine was submitted under a medical visit. When we asked why, there were a number of reasons like I didn't order glasses on the day of visit. So I had to pay the $50 deductible because it was billed as a medical visit. We pay good money for VSP and could not even use it for me. The office staff argued with us and kept changing the story. I would expect my visit would be run through VSP and not my medical insurance, and my $50 be returned. Then I was charged $39 for both eye pictures that I was not notified this was not covered. I don't get it. First and last time at Clarkson.

I told them I don't have that kind of money. no offer to help me find anything less, so i took my business to Americas Best. Americas Best got 2 pairs for 535.00. Guess what the script Clarkson gave me was wrong for my eyes. Did they get mad when I said I was taking my business elsewhere or did not do the script right in the first place. My granddaughter has been using them and always complains about not being able to see for a few weeks, they say you just have to get used to them.
