Good thing to first note is that this business is located in the mall. In the parking lot, it is in between JCPenny and Dave & Busters. After you have parked by the previously mentioned locations, if you walk in by the entrance facing Mezeh, you will immediately see Visual Health Doctors of Optometry on the right side, after Mezeh. My experience was an exceptional one. There was excellent customer service from EVERY person I interacted with. Upon entry, I was warmly greeted. Upon meeting Dr. Murray she kindly greeted me and acknowledged me as a person, rather than a patient. She was very knowledgeable and welcomed/answered all of my questions. After my exam, I had the tough decision of selected a pair of glasses... I can be very indecisive. The men there were very patient with me. They guy that assorted with my purchase even helped narrow down my selection with his meaningful input of the why or the why not. Definitely a great experience. I've been coming here for eyeglasses for years, however my recent visit was unsatisfactory. I just got an eye exam in October 2023, and now I need vision form filled out to renew my Maryland driver's license. They tell me I need a new exam, with an additional screening that I declined on the last visit. They also said since my exam is more than 3 months old, MVA requires a new one. From MVA, "What are my vision screening options? Option 1: Ask your vision provider to submit your most recent vision screening to MDOT MVA. (MDOT MVA will accept vision screening results for up to two years from the date it was performed.)" I was told this in person as well as on the phone! This policy is bullshit, and they are about upselling and making money. I will not be back, and I do not recommend this practice. read more

2020 would have been my third year with Visual Health. I was excited when they texted me to remind me to schedule an appointment. I even scheduled easily via text. When I went to the appointment, after I took the time to fill out all of the paperwork, they told me I wasn't eligible to be seen with my insurance until 5 days later! I replied via text to complain and posted on Facebook. No one acknowledged my complaint or concern. They have a failed system that doesn't help patients manage their appointments. There is absolutely no reason they shouldn't have said in the text, "schedule your appointment after this date." I'll never go back! read more

I came in here with the beginning of an ulcer in my left eye because I never take my contacts out/I sleep with them in every night... this day was bound to come. I saw Dr. Varghai, and she seemed pretty displeased with me. Like, almost personally offended that I hadn't been adhering to standard contact lens protocol. We didn't really hit it off my first time seeing her at this location. But then I saw her two days later at their office in Arlington, and she was much nicer upon hearing that I'd been following her instructions lol. I guess she's just a really no-nonsense type of person. I was disappointed with the brands of glasses here - they don't really carry a ton of brands that surpass "TJMaxx tier." They had some Marc by Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, a couple pairs by Gucci and Chloe, then your typical Ray-Bans and whatever. Not a ton of ultra high-end options (I was hoping for some Prada, Tom Ford, etc.) The receptionist gentleman was a sweetie, and everything went quickly & efficiently enough. For purposes of locating this place, it's right across from &pizza. There's also a Yard House semi-near it, which is probably the thing most worth mentioning because I'm obsessed with Yard House. read more

AWFUL! AWFUL! First I want to say this review has nothing to do with who I saw that day. Maya Murray was definitely exceptional & answered every question I had. Now unfortunately the service I received after from someone else is why I will never go back. A couple of weeks later I received a invoice for the remaining payment due after insurance. I noticed that the invoice date was dated July 2023 but the due date was Oct 2019. I've emailed them numerous times and called them because I wanted a revised copy with a more accurate due date. The lady who left me a voicemail was nasty and continued to state that I can just pay over the phone. Who in their right mind would pay a incorrect invoice. All I kept asking for was for someone to send me a revised copy. My last email to them about this was a couple of weeks ago and have not heard back from anyone. Not sure why getting a corrected invoice is this difficult. read more

Don't bother with this place. Rude front desk guy. Made an appointment here for me and my three children. Asked if we had been here before. Explained all but one of my children. The youngest. He said I had to fill out paperwork- Again. I asked why when NOTHING HAS CHANGED IN OVER 8 years. First, when you make an appointment for 4 people in one family, you should tell such head of family they will be required to fill out paperwork whether any updates to information is required or not so be prepared and 2 make this paperwork available online so it can be done ahead of time. Some families have special needs (ie autistic children and or time restraints that will not allow them to sit there for this. I haven't had an eye exam in over 20yrs. I'm 48 and my eyes started getting blurry around 8 yrs ago when reading my watch, phone ...etc. I've been wearing readers ever since. Now it has gotten worse to where I can't see my computer screen. I called the Springfield Mall office in Springfield Va. at 10 am and explained my situation. They ROCK! They were able to get me in the same day. Their customer service is above and beyond!! I'm in automotive sales and they knock it out of the park every time. I used a Groupon and was not charged anything extra. They beat Costco's pricing for my contacts and found me $200 manufacturer Visa card rebate for purchasing a year's worth of contacts at the time of my visit. I recently had gone in from a Groupon deal for a contact exam. I could not have been happier with my experience. One of the staff- Mateen, had gone through the financial part of contacts and saved me over $200! And also answered all my questions. Right when I walked in he said "I'll take care of you" and he did. The doctor was very caring and answered my questions throughly. She prescribed me as best as she could and took in all my concerns. I don't give many bad reviews but I feel compelled to warn you about this place. My wife came here just to pick out a pair of glasses. The salesperson was not very helpful. However, the real issue came after we left. For some reason the salesperson required social security number, credit card, ID, and insurance card to check up the insurance information. We ended up not finding any glasses so we moved on. Any other place we went did not require anything other than last 4 of SSN. The next day after leaving the store, we started noticing fraudulent charges on my credit card. Although I am not accusing this place of credit card fraud, it is still very suspicious that they would ask for all this information and make copies of everything, just to look at glasses. I had called to make sure they took walk-ins before I came and they confirmed they did and told me to come in so I drive 35 minutes sitting in traffic only to get there and be told the doctor isn't taking anybody else. Total scam I bought the groupon for $49 For an eye exam AND 225 off of prescription lenses. The exam was quick and seemed faulty and I didn't feel my questions were answered appropriately. Once finished an assistant took me to pick out frames, they were absurdly over priced $400-900 for just frames. I needed the glasses so I chose the cheaper frames $450 and ended up paying an additional 225 when all was said and done. On top of this a paper copy of my prescription wasn't available upon request and all orders were final when asking them to cancel my order because Amazon had much better frames for $100. Please don't be duped, go to a private optometrist and don't waste your money on VHD crap. read more

The worst optometrist office I have ever been to. I went in April for a contacts eye exam and ordered a 3 month supply of contacts the same day. I was told I would receive a call once the contacts were ready. I did not receive a call for months and when I tried to check, not only did the lady hang the phone up on me, she also ended the call when I tried calling back. Dr. Damiani was very pleasant and knowledgeable during my visit. His wife who helped check me in/out was very kind as well. My experience was awful , the star is only for the doctor he was kind , but the store manager needs a well training to how take care about the customer needs , give a good customer experience : special be honest and show height level of professionalism , not just to be a sale person and gives excuses and reasons to refuse a warranty that the customer have it on a product sold from them . This place is horrible. Pay the extra money and see your private doctor. My prescription is wrong. The contacts the first doctor recommended are wicked bad. I'm waiting to be seen by a second doctor for a follow up appointment (the doctor here today is a completely different guy than last week) and I've been sitting here an hour past my appointment time!! No one has apologized for my wait time or anything!! The patient back there now is just carrying on a terribly lengthy conversation with the doctor and the number of patients in the waiting room is mounting!!
