Hi everyone I was at…read morea comedy evening at Sunny California in Capitola on 5/9, the store was newly opened. I brought a steel wine cup (included but in the color green) and it was unfortunately left behind. I contacted the store via the published phone number and left a message, used the contact me form online through their website, and also stopped in. I was told by the owner that his wife DID find the cup and stashed it somewhere. He asked me to leave my name and number and he would call me. He hasn't. I have since used the same methods (contact us form, left a voicemail, also have send an Instagram message) and once again stopped in to pick up my cup. I was told by the employee today that they had not found the cup. This seems small and you may be thinking I should let it go. Well, it was my husband's and he died in 2024. I used it at an event and it didn't get placed back in my bag, I was told it was found. I just want the cup returned to me, can you please help?

This lady was so bothered by our presence that she asked us if we were looking to buy anything specific from the very moment we walked in (not even a hello or welcome) and proceeds to follow us and rearrange every clothing item we looked at on the clothing rack. She then tells my younger sister to not touch anything, which makes no sense since this is the whole point of shopping, smh. This lady stood so close behind us and didn't give us room to comfortably shop. She then turns off the light and says "we're closing in 5 minutes" and walks away to another shop across from her store. This made us feel so unwelcome and we absolutely did not deserve to be treated this way. Its a shame that the customer service is severely lacking being that this is considered a small business.

I was in the shop when the so called "brash and unfriendly" treatment towards "trans and non-binary people" occurred... What I saw/heard was a shop owner trying to protect his product. The hat in question is lovely. Obviously the owner's wife put in a lot of time and care. The proprietor asked the obviously sweaty, visually male customer not to try on the "women's" hats. Did I think this was because he is "homophobic/transphobic""? No. Women's hats run smaller than men's hats. No one wants to try on a hat (men's or women's) that was tried on previously by a sweaty, big headed person. It isn't like you can take a hat home and wash it in the laundry. Quality hats are not play things to try on and possibly damage, stretch, or dirty. If you are a sweaty mess, you have no business trying on any hat. Also, it was not the shop owner who asked you to leave... you said "well I guess I won't try on any hats then" to which the owner replied, "You can do what you want. Maybe next time you will ask the proprietor to help you find an appropriately sized product before you go stuffing your over-sized, sweaty self in it.
